Part 3 | War Machine: The Abuse of Christy Mac

3:43 And the last time that I left you, we reviewed the testimony of Corey Thomas. Of course, that was the mail that was assaulted by war Machine prior to the over two hour beating that Christy Mack endured. And if you'll remember, I told you about the miraculous escape by Christy Mack out of that bedroom window and that she ranto a series of neighbors houses banging on doors trying to get someone to help her at four o'clock in the morning. And that is what we are going to cover today. Now, Christy actually ran into two separate houses. And keep in mind, this is not your typical neighborhood.

4:27 It was what you may call a ritzy neighborhood. All of these homes surrounded a golf course in Las Vegas, million dollar homes. And I'm sure folks who live there they don't deal with crime very often. They sure don't deal with someone banging on their door at four o'clock in the morning, nude with just a blanket and covered in blood often. So how did they react? First up is the testimony of mister and miss Girraldo. And the Gerraldo's were an older couple. Just judging by their testimony, I could tell they were affluent, seemed very well put together.

5:13 And the first one that took the stand was miss Geraldo and she testified that it was around four o'clock a m. When she heard loud banging on her front door. So she gets up, she looks out of the window out of a dead sleep, mind you, and she's singing. A woman covered in a blanket, blood all over her screaming for help, and she was terrified. So she does what most people would do in that situation. She calls the police. Now it's important to mention for those that may wonder, why did she not open the door and just let this poor girl in. Well, the fact of the matter is she was scared. These are older people.

6:00 Their two dogs are going nuts barking that are in the house, and you have a woman standing outside wee hours of the morning. She's screaming for help in a neighborhood where this just never happens. So she calls and the first time she gets connected to nine to one one, the dispatcher inadvertently hangs up. So she immediately calls back and she tells the dispatcher the situation and you know, okay, we're sending the police. And as time passes, Christy is still outside hiding, but no police. So she calls back a second time, like where are you guys, And at this point the dispatcher is kind of rude with her, like they are coming, ma'am kind of thing, and more time passes, no police. Now, in her testimony, the prosecution, they did what they do, got her to lay out in detail what I just told you. And then it was the defense's turn to cross examine her, and out of the clear blue sky, they asked if she had known Christy prior to the incident, and missus Drawldo, she said, yes, she had met her once, but she didn't recognize her when she was outside of her door, so she didn't realize that was her neighbor. And they basically said, well, how did you meet her? And she talked about a situation where Christie's dog had got loose and ended up

7:34 in the Drawdou's yard. So the defense says, well, isn't it true that you got bit by Christie's dog and you went to the doctor that day, and when you got out of the doctor treating you for just you know, scrapes from that dog, you had Christie pay the bill. Now for me, I was like, what does this have to do with anything. It's true what the defense said. That was true. The dog did bite miss Drawdau and she did get to the doctor, and Christy did pay the bill, but she wasn't sued. Christy offered to do that and felt like she should do that. But it's a prime example of the defense reaching trying to relate two things that really had nothing to do with each other, just to screw with the heads of the jury. So I'm going to pick up there with the testimony of mister drawdo and when he took the stand, older guy, heavy accent, very well put together, he shed some light on why they did not immediately open that door, and it boils down for Christy to bad timing. It seemed that within the past few weeks in Las Vegas, there have been a series of home invasions where the perpetrators have a girl bang on a door and when the homeowners would open it, a man would come out of

9:05 the bushes or from around the side of the house and they would rob the homeowners. It was all over the news, and mister Draaldo he was pretty aware of that. In fact, it was the first thing he said that he thought about when he heard that banging on the door. So I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna play mister Drawdou's testimony. During this testimony, you're gonna hear yet a third nine one one call that this couple had to place, But this time it was mister Draaldo who was pissed that the police still weren't there. And you're gonna hear mister Graaldo's take on what was occurring as Christy Mack hid outside of their home. As I told you, listen closely because he does have a strong accent. But here's that club.

9:58 What are you. Doing at a route four o'clock in the morning on SA two thousand fourteen? Sleeping? All right? And were you sleeping in any particular bedroom. A roster bedroom downstairs upstairs? Yes, I still plus. Did anything awake you from your sleep? Yes? Mike does more parking very valley, and he had some kind of knock one doors. Can you describe the knock for us? It's like a very fuss. No, that was a knock.

10:40 How many dogs did you have that time? So he has more dogs, money, parknerly come mound and oysterous. Oh yeah, they have anything. They really go wire? All right? What did you do after you've heard that knock. On the door? I went downstairs to the picture says that's the door going through the rash as a big window, and I was yelling, t was my brother in law? Who? And I don't Tony. Nobody answered. This door? Can you describe it? Worst? It's a done back. They with white window with the some blaster the sign, so you can seek through no blow.

And then it was your testimony that you believe. I mean it said it's your. Brother, my brother in law. I thought it would be my brother, and most like to get in from what. I have reason, so okay, and you yelled out tony, I don't do it, don't no answer, And then what did you do? Then somebody feared and from and the last window and scared the old one. I mean, excuse the word scares me because I couldn't recognize that person wise, and I came most of clovered with a blugget and run, I run upstairs.

12:16 Okay. He thought was a boster covered with a planket, somebody very. Mask or something. I don't know. It was very scary. Okay, makes su At the time that you were looking through this window and this individual popped up into your view, do you know where your wife was. At that time? I think it was upstairs at that time making a phone call to the nine one one and. You just right after you saw this person kind of jump up, you ran upstairs. Also right what did you do when you were upstairs? I went to bet my gun? Where did you do that? Because a week before was that we could do it before I know reside in the day was the case and Tropican in the area more or less that someone was killed because some lady knocked on his door and he was nice enough to let me, and then a guy behind command and killed his man.

13:15 So that came to my mind right away. So that's why I don't open the door, because I was taking in my head. Oh yeah, after you went upstairs, before your successful and entertaining your gun. Oh yes, indeed? Uh did you go ever go back. Downstairs and attempts to communicate with this individual? No? Really, I just was wonder I was going to be nice, if it was going to play the door or what. Okay, okay, you said you believe that your wife was upstairs making a phone call. You know who she is? Called nine one one for sure? Did you make any poe calls?

13:56 Indeed, because I felt the police were taken a little longer I expected for big case that we thought it was very something bad happened. I don't know what we need want to the police are right as soon as possible. This individual that popped up and throw you. Did this individual say anything to you with me? You know that I remember not. So you contacted nine one one because you thought response was a little later. Right there are. If you made statements to the nine one one operator. You imagine those would be accurate at that time. That is correct. There was also some mention that you said she was leaning pretty badly.

She's going across the street. Did you actually see her walking across the shoe? And it's from my wad, like I said anything. Was this through the kitchen window or was this asters upstairs? Yeah?

Was it this one or this once? I was Yeah, So I gotta say I like mister Grawdo's attitude during that call. On that nine one one call, you heard him say, I got a gun and someone's about to get shot if the police do not get here soon. And of course I'm kind of paraphrasing that.

20:28 And another thing that gave me a bit of a laugh was when he said that his wife had called the police several times and still no police in this dispatcher, who I was not impressed with at all. She says with a smart ass tone, it was ten minutes ago, sir. And his response to that was epic to me when he said, Hey, people die in that amount of time. Loved it. Y'all also heard him mentioned during that call that she had ran away from the draw Doo's home and was at another house, but he couldn't see her from where he was at. That is indeed what happened in The next witness you're going to hear from was a guy by the name of Arthur Harris, now mister Harris. His testimony was very interesting in that he did not own that house, that second house where Christy Mack showed up banging on the door. In fact, he was on a large family vacation expecting fifteen people at that home, between brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, etc.

21:43 And they had rented that large property on Airbnb. It was also interesting to note that mister Harris was a paramedic for three years and prior to that, an EMT for twelve years. I mean, if you're injured to the extent of Christy mag banging on that particular door was a huge stroke of luck for her, considering her injuries and his ability to treat those injuries. However, once again, you're beating on someone's door at four o'clock in the morning, bleeding pretty bad, screaming, etc. And people are wary by nature.

22:25 Mister Harris was no exception. So we'll pick up with this clip of his testimony to the prosecution, and you're gonna hear a different prosecutor here. She was actually the lead prosecutor in this case. It was a prosecutor by the name of Jacqueline Bluff, and Jacqueline Bluff today is actually a sitting judge in the eighth District in Nevada, but she was a career prosecutor during this point in time and just an amazing lead prosecutor. So here's that clib in those early morning hours.

23:05 Did you hear something that kind of caught your attention? Yes? What was it that you heard? We heard like bamming on the door, someone knocking really hard at the door. When you heard that, what did you think. Well, we had a number of relatives stand so I just thought somebody forgot the code of the keypad and they're trying. To get in the door. So did you get up and go to help them? Not initially as you're are you laying that at that point attention? Yes, And as you're laying in bed, do you start carrying knocking from multiple areas of the home. Can you explain to me how how that you kind of figured that out?

One one had a key pad lock where you could actually punch your numbers and get the rest had to be open from from the inside, so we have been using all the different the different doors throughout the day. So it just sounded like the notes or in the uh. I believe it would be the northern end of the home initially, and it just kind of progressively got louder and it ended up in the door where that was closest to my room, the room that I was standing at Okay, So what. I'm gonna do, I'm gonna show you a blown up version of the house issue and that the partner being stipulated evidence this excuse for books one s and to it, I need a pass or stimulating that you just figure out that one.

So up top here, I'm not sure if it's on the right or the left side of the driveway. But in this in this area, there is a door that leads to maybe like a hallway. It was it was where the kids were. They had fundands and things there.

25:21 There was a hallway with multiple other bedrooms along here. There was another door about about here, and then there was a door this way here. In this this was like a den area, and then the master bedroom would be It would be this area where I would stand. Okay and you could kind of hear this, you say, I mean you said they on the doors out what you said, Yes, in all those points of them. Yes, And just for the record, your honor, he has located a uh a door on the basically the entrance of the top of the picture, and then another door towards the first cement in the top of the picture, and then again in front of the first right.

So this here, this here isn't isn't the door The door would be this this in in this one. This was just the hallway where the rooms or three doors. Yes, there were three doors in my knowledge on the front side of the house, not including my sliding glass doors on the back or. Understand in center back at all. Thank you for that prat vacation. Okay, So then you tell me after you know, here's this continued thing. At some point do you decide I'm going to go here on what's going on?

26:48 At some point me, niece, sister in law, they're on the northern end that my niece and sister and I were on the northern end of the house. We kind of get up at the same time. They beat me to the door and they're like, hey, it's some girl out here that's bloody, and I'm kind of like, I mean, it's four in the morning. I'm kind of like, just like, God, like, what's going off? And they're like, I don't know. So I go over to the door. I looked out and she was at there. The door here has a has a glass window. Both doors have glass windows.

27:28 The door that is like kind of corner there does not. She was knocking at the door that does not have a glass window. So I'm looking out the glass window at her. I mean, she appeared Initially I thought she was drunk. She she appeared to be stumbling. I mean, she was slurring. I'm like, hey, what's how can I help you? She she was stumbling, slurring her words. I was talking through the door. Yeah, just loud, like hey, you know, like cause she was knocked back towards me, and she started to walk towards. The door that we're at. And then I believe she she said she been beating up, she needed she needed help.

28:10 She was just like begging for help, like please help me, help me help me, And I'm like, okay, what's going on. She's like I'm beat up, and so I was like, okay, I'll call I'll call the police. So at that time, I didn't open the door because of there's bushes. There's bushes here, and there's a wall that where you can't can't really sit around. So I kind of told my wife like, could be a set up. We're opening the door. Somebody could run in and we had kids there, all all of our family members. So I tell her like, hey, I'll call the police. So I mean, it's obviously a rental home. I don't know the ad the address by heart.

28:51 I have to go back into the kitchen where the address is written down. So once I called nine one one, I'm reading the address off of like a sticky note or no pad where we had it written down because we have been giving it to family members all day. So after after our call nine one one. Before you've moved on edwards like does okay? I was going to play the ninety one one call that mate, if that's okay you and see if you rest in that set, and then ask you some questions afterwards. Exhibit Oh yes, Jack. Out he got whatever because did you call upon with your my day's birthday after your life?

Yes, so you said to the U nine one to dispath. She said, there's a woman outside she called money. Can you explain to me what you could tell why you guys were on opposite sides of the door to w well.

31:42 She she was wrapped in the sheep. You could see there was blood coming from her face. There was blood on the sheet. Now it's pretty much pretty much surely, but I can see okay, and so. You make this nine of the phone call. Now explain to us what happens after you hang up with nine of one. So after I hang up with now one, I go back to the door and I tell her like, okay, the paramedics, the police, they're on their way, and she just kept saying thank you. And after she says thank you a number of times, she just falls to the ground. So at that point, I'm thinking to myself, like, all right, if there are people like waiting there to run in the house. After I say now the police are coming, they're probably gonna leave. And she didn't leave, So so kind of think, okay, it's something serious. I should go out and check her. So I just tell my sister in law, niece White, like, hey, as soon as I go out, just close the door, lock the door, don't open it for nothing until the police get here.

32:43 So I go out. I go outside. She's on the ground. I'm like trying to talk to her. She was answering some questions, but she was still kind of slur speech. I remember asking her like, what happened? Were you adopted trying to provide her with metal? Are you assessing her injuries? Yes? And when you hit out there and now you have an opportunity to look at her up close. You originally said that she thought she was drunk. Right, So did you get out there and you know you see her face and paste, do you think she's drunk? You know what you're thinking At that point, at the point where I make contact with her and I'm close with her, I can see that she's had she has blood from the mouth, I'm swelling over her entire face.

33:31 She's clearly been been beat or get with something. She's bleeding, so she she was clearly in distressed. Okay, do you you know, touch her in any way try to provide for any aid. Yes. I never touched like the bloody parts, cause I have gloves. I don't have any equipment, but I did during an assessment, I was asked asking her questions like do you have trouble breathe? Then? I mean I was what we called pop painting or pressing on her stomach to see if she had any pain there. Most most of the bleeding it wasn't I mean, it wasn't controlled, but it wasn't like gushing.

34:15 Out to the prorat to try to apply pressure to stop it. When you would help. The different injuries of are the see me, the different places of her body, and asked that she was feeling pain. Was she able to communicate to you whether or not she was in pain? She she was, but she was she was crying, She was like hysterical, and she was just sounded like helped me. But she was able to say that she did have pain in all the places that I was asking her? All right? Was she able to tell me who was her? Yes? Asking for her answer and. You yes or no? Okay? Was she able to tell you who did this her?

34:56 Yes? Was she able to tell me whether or not what was used? Yes? Was she able to tell you. How it was that she was beaten? And let me clarify that. I mean, like. What body parts touched her body? Hearts? Does that make sense? Yes? I asked those questions, so yes she was answer. She said yes. Yes. Was she having problems answering all of your questions? Like? Was she clearly? Was she clear headed?

35:38 No? No? Clear heading? Culture speculation? Was she trouble answering up questions? It's starting, denis all right? Where did your clarified question? Was she able to have a conversation like you and I are hobbing? No? Were you able to stay. Or were you able to assess whether or not she was gaining out of consciousness about. Yes, and was she was she consciously? She was conscious the entire time. Okay, after you made that nine one one call, did the police come shortly after that? Yes, three minutes. I mean obviously when you're when you're there, it seems like a long time, but it's probably few minutes later.

When you were treating her and when you were having these conversations with her, were you right here behind these bushes kind of like in this corner where the l makes yes, and all of your contact with her was outside tho, Yes, is that behind a fence? Like is there a fence in that area? Or what is in that pictures? That? An area like avocado? How you see? It was kind of it was kind of weird. It is an adio, but it had like a I'm not sure it was exactly fenced in, but it was a wall where where they had to can so it wasn't a patio, wasn't anywhere like you could go. It's a batio and then like maybe a retaining law that maybe.

37:10 Like five feet high with the trash can like on the side of it. And when you said that, you know you let her know, hey, I called nine one. She said thank you several types and that she felt when you say felt, did she like fall over something or or. Is it more like a collapse? More like a collapse, And. It's at that point you felt like you needed to go outside and help her, for it was made represents. So shout out to this guy who just like mister Drawdo. At the start of all this, he thought this could be a setup. But once he mentioned he called the police and Christy did not run off, his instincts kicked in and kind of told him that something was legit with this girl's please for help. Otherwise, why would she not run when he said he called the police. So he goes outside and he tells his family to lock the door behind him just in case it was a set up. Now that's hero stuff right there. This is real life.

38:14 Now. I'm not going to play the cross examination part of this one, except for one little section. The defense for reasons I'm still confused about, made a huge deal out of the fact of some of the verbiage used by mister Harris during his nine one one call. Listen to this now. And call you stated for dispatch or you recall stating the dispatch there's a lady outside down on. The turpall no help refresh the recollection? How much lead the gesture? I see you all recall the sais from the autumn recording.

38:58 Well, we just listened to. Although it ends up showing you okay, now that you have an opportunity to review it, to have a refreshing recollection. A lot of the river saying curve, but maybe it's two o'clock in the morning, four o'clock in the morning. Could have so to be cleared you or you not recall stadium? I double lady outside down with her? How recaps the word curved saying she was on. The curve note and while viewing with Macaday while simultaneously being on the phone with nimal money. Believe that you stayed after I wasn't. I wasn't on the phone feeling her and I was on the phone and seeing her at the same time. Correct, because I.

39:43 Have to go get the address. So while I'm calling nine one one, I'm in the kitchen of the home reading the address off of a stake. Do you believe that your recollection at the time to making the final one call was better than your recollection today. Janus's accurate. I'm sure. And you don't remember saying that. I remember saying curve. So what is the defense trying to do here? Well, they're making a, in my opinions, sad attempt to prove that if he does not remember saying he saw Christy Mack on a curve to the nine to one one dispatcher, he could be miss remembering a bunch of other things during that night. They even bring up the fact that he was looking at her when he was speaking to nine one one, which he quickly refuted, saying, oh no, there's no possible way I was looking at her because I had to read the address off of the property and that was on a sticky note in the kitchen, so you couldn't see her from the kitchen, so I couldn't have been looking at her at that point. Now, what it is, at its core, what it truly is, the defense is trying to play mind tricks on this jury. Remember, it's all about placing doubt in the jury's mind. This is all just games

41:17 that defense lawyers play. But the prosecution they have a chance to respond to that. It's called redirect and hats off to them for making the defense look really like a bunch of incompetent idiots when they respawn. With this. Any part of the around the one call them that you do?

42:00 Eight nine one? N what corner? Don't the lady out on the food? How did he call the porn? Were you seeing? Cook? I said, there's a lady outside, okay? And then it's one little bit he said, the lady outside? And then what's the thing side? And lady? Eight nine one eight nine? What conna? Never a lady out? Yeah?

42:43 Or did he called the corner outside? Famine on the door? She said, and she has blood on her she said, she was beat up. There's nothing about a lady you know. First no, the second wasn't on the her. No, she's on the porch. You don't know what. Have you ever even seen? And that is how you do that? Dude never even said anything about a curb. Now, next up, a sexual assault nurse was called to the stand that examined Christy mag And look, there's nothing pleasant about these exams, as you can imagine. They're really horrible to go through from what I understand, but unfortunately necessary and typically two types of exams are done. The first is called a speculum exam, which is a medical procedure where they use a speculum to widen the vaginal wall so a doctor can check for abnormalities such as tears to the vagina from force penetration. And the other is known as an anal exam, which is a procedure that involves a doctor or a nurse. They're checking the anus and rectum with a gloved lubricated finger, same thing, attempting to identify tears etc.

44:16 To the rectum from forced penetration. Now, I cannot imagine Christy Mack or anyone really having to go through this after horrible things happen, but it's the reality of it, and it's important to mention that both do not have to be performed. If someone, for example, says they've been raped vaginally but not anally, they don't force that person to do an anal exam. There is obviously no need for that, and in reality, they don't force them to do either exam. It is totally up to the patient. But the proof aspect that those exams it becomes a most a necessary evil. Unfortunately in most cases, so prior to performing these exams, assuming the patient consents to them.

45:12 An interview is conducted where the sex assault nurses they asked questions related to the assault. This is to gather information on what type of exams they would recommend. So in Christy Max's case, when she was discussing what occurred, one of the things Christy Max said was he never penetrated me anally or vaginally. What war Machine did, she said, was he licked his fingers and rubbed them on her vagina in an effort to lubricate it because she didn't want to have sex. And I'm not going to get into the illogicals of that, but it was very dry.

46:03 The problem was, and what pissed him off even worse and made him beat her even more, according to her, was the fact that he could not get hard. But just the fact that he licked his fingers in an effort to moisten her vagina and then stuck him down there and was rubbing up and down her vagina, that's sexual assault. However, he didn't penetrate her at that point, so the nurse she said, well, we can still do a speculum exam and make sure that you don't have any tears in there. Maybe he stuck his fingers in there, and you don't realize it. And I know that sounds crazy.

46:47 You would think she will remember everything, but when you're in a traumatic situation, you forget a lot of things. But Christy Mack did not want that speculum exam Quite frankly, she told the nurse she didn't want that speculum inserted into her vagina. But she did let the nurse swab her vagina and they did examine her physically with their eyes. And one of the things that the nurse noticed is she had striations on her inner thighs, and that's an indication of your thighs being forced open. Instead of willingly spreading your legs, someone is forcing you to spread those legs and that's a good solid sign of rate or attempted rate.

47:37 Just awful. So that was the testimony of the nurse that examined Christy Mack. Now a police officer in Las Vegas by the name of Marianne True. She also testified she was working the graveyard shift that night. She initially responded to that nine to one one call that had been placed in Christie's neighborhood, and according to this police officer, the call went out and said a woman had been hysterical and was screaming on the call, and of course I played you that call. Now, one thing I mentioned was the police never showed up. She makes a nine one one call and just basically sets her cellphone down on the bed while war machine is beating the shit out of Corey Thomas and nine to one one never shows.

48:33 So the problem is she gets a ship beat out of her for two hours. Well here's where we found out what happened. That call was actually responded to. However, the call was traced to an address in Christie's neighborhood. Unfortunately it was not Christie's house, so they ended up at the wrong house. And when she pulled up to the neighbor's house, one of Christie's neighbors, the officer unrolls the window to see if she could hear anything, but there was nothing. She gets out of the car, she goes up to the door. A man was home and he told her nothing was going on. He didn't call the police, so she left the scene and later gets another call to respond to the hospital, and that was when Corey Thomas was at the hospital and he gives her a statement about what went down with war machine.

49:37 Another officer by the name of Samala Shepherd testified that she was with Officer Troe that night, and she said she met Christy and Corey at the hospital. She got emotional on the stand. It was interesting when she was describing what she saw when she first saw Christy. The attorney asked her, in regards to me, it is Macaday, Christy Mack, can you explain to me physically what she looked like upon your arrival, And the response of this police officer was OG's. Her face was completely swollen, both eyes just puffy closed, two of her teeth were missing, dry blood around her nose and around her mouth, and she had bruising on her leg and was very hurt, complaining of pain. It was very traumatizing to see. The attorney then asked, can you explain to me her demeanor, and she said, well, she seemed scared, she seemed tired, she seemed very soft spoken, just I don't know, just very scared. Officer Shepherd said that she had to help them write the reports because of the injuries, and when I say them, I'm talking about Corey Thomas and Christy Mack.

50:58 And another witness was called the day, and that was a woman by the name of Elaine Green, and she was a manager of a human Trafficking and Victim Services division of the Las Vegas Police Department. Now. Miss Green said she had never met Christy Mack, but she was called to testify just generally about domestic violence and relationships, and it was pretty interesting what she had to say. She said that she works with between fifty to seventy five new victims each month, and she has seen hundreds, if not thousands, of domestic violence victims. She said red flags of domestic violence can be misinterpreted as signs of love, constant phone calls to see how you are, and little gifts. She said domestic violence is based on power and control and that there are different types of abuse, but that it's all about one person exerting their power and control over another person. Green said people often stay in abusive relationships because of love. She said it's easy to excuse behaviors or take responsibility for them, which is what Christy Mack was doing for so long before this went down, and even after this went down, which we'll talk about in a later episode. She said, you can still be very much in love even when things become

52:31 unsafe and unbalanced. She said, it's not. Uncommon for someone in a very dangerous situation to say, but I love that person. I don't want them to go to jail, and they're hoping that maybe that person will change, and that's a big problem. Green said there's a cynical power and control mechanism with that. It begins with tension building in a relationship, and then and the explosion occurs, which can be physical, emotional, or financial. And then there's a hearts and flowers phase where the abuser apologizes right they send them flowers, which incidentally, War Machine did many times. Green said that sometimes people think that this hearts and flowers phase is the best part of the relationship. Green said that part of the power in control includes isolation. By isolating the victim, they're controlling them and making it difficult for close friends to point things out to them. Green said that she had seen many cases involving high profile people and that oftentimes these high profile victims like Christy Mack, they are worried that this could be perceived as a publicity stunt if they mentioned that they're being abused, and so they just don't say anything.

53:57 On cross examination, Green was at asked if it was common for domestic violence victims to cheat on their abusers, and she said she can't say it's common because she doesn't go into those details with the victims, but she had seen it. She was asked if she had worked with the victims in the adult entertainment industry. And remember this is the defense questioning her, So they asked about the cheating thing because they're trying to make it look like Christy Mack was cheating and that's why she got her ask keeted basically, but I'll continue. She was asked if she had worked with victims in the adult entertainment industry before she said yes. She was asked if it was common for victims of abuse to still make public appearances on TMZ in other mainstream media, and she actually said yes, which piss the defense off because they're trying to make it act like, well, she was abused so bad would she still do all these appearances that she was doing.
