The last time that we left you regarding Becky Hill, she had resigned from the Collington County Clerk of Court elected position that she held and she was feeling some massive pressure. It wasn't too long after, as a matter of fact, on June twenty eighth of twenty twenty three, that ship really hits the fan for Becky Hill when the State of South Carolina's Ethics Commission opens an investigation into Becky Hill. Forget this seventy six counts of ethics violations. Now, it's very lengthy, obviously, so I'm not going to go into it and read you every word of this thing, but I'm gonna sum it up for you. And I'm going to start with the letter that was received on June twenty sixth, twenty twenty three to the South Carolina Ethics Commission, and it reads, this is a written statement of and it redacts out who actually wrote the statement regarding the unethical behavior of the Callington County Clerk of Court, Becky Hill. Hill is the elected Clerk of Court and was in office at the time of the Murderall trial.

1:27 Since the beginning of the trial, Hill has utilized her authority the Collington County Courthouse in taxpayers' money outside of the routine scope of court business. Through interviews with very immedia sources, He'll admits she planned to write a book as soon as she discovered the Murdall case would be adjudicated in Collington County. He'll also used her position to make contacts prior to the trial so they could assist her in this endeavor. These admissions can be discovered in la local news sources and social media post During the murder All trial, Hill used her political position and authority to obtain confidential information and digital images of the defendant and others during the trial. At the conclusion of the trial, Hill was interviewed by members of Netflix and was responsible for releasing unredacted body camera footage. On the second anniversary of the Murdall murders, June ninth of twenty twenty three, Hill appeared in a news article on Walterburrowlive dot com.

Hill claims the book will detail interactions with mrdall, attorney, tensions, witnesses, and jurors. I submit that releasing this information to the public could have an adverse effect in upholding the conviction of Murdall in the event of an appeal. It is well known He'll allows guided tours of the Callington County Courthouse during normal business hours for quote donations. This information has been made on Facebook posts. In some of the posts, several citizens are seen posing for pictures in the holding Celle Murdall occupied during the trial. He'll tells attendees the donations are to replace the front windows of the courthouse.

He did this inside the main courtroom of the Collington County Courthouse during business hours. Dewett posted this information on Facebook and it was also published on bluffingtontoday dot com. In the post, DeWitt indicates I will be selling and signing copies of Wicked Hampton County and talking about the South Carolina Low Country, rich but often wicked history this Friday, June second, during tours of the Collington County Courthouse from nine am to noon and from two pm to four, and doing it again on June sixteenth.

This post by DeWitt is demonstrative as it emits routine court business being interrupted on multiple days for several hours to permit Hill and her staff to interact with visitors while abandoning their duties and allowing the courthouse to be utilized for commerce. During this tour, Hill is also verbally promoting her book. Hill has also permitted her staff members to leave work before the close of business to allow members of Netflix to set up equipment at the courthouse for the purpose of filming footage for an upcoming Netflix series. As of June fourteenth, twenty twenty three, there was a post in the Facebook group Murdoch Murders Case Discussion. In that post, there was a digital image of Alec Murdoch resting on a bed with a book inside a holding cell. This post was uploaded by Melissa Gordon, photographer of Behind the Walls of Justice. Gordon stated this image was taken from the security camera monitor during the deliberations and minutes before Murdoch's conviction. This shows Becky Hill permitted Gordon unimpeded access to the Collington County Courthouse and facilitated her in taking

6:14 digital images that no other citizen was permitted to have. Gordon was also allowed into the courthouse every day of the trial, even though it was admitted that there was a limited amount of seating for spectators and that entrance was permitted on the first come, first served basis. In the post, there was a link to additional images. When the reader clicks on the link, it takes the reader to quote behind the Doors of Justice website, where Hill's book can be purchased. As the days passed and He'll continue to participate in interviews with multiple sources. She admitted to formulating a plan to write her book when she heard the trial would be held in Collington County. She also admitted to meeting Melissa Gordon at the beginning of the trial and discovered she was a photographer. Gordon was soon hired to be the photographer for Hill's book. During the Murdoch Trial, Clerk of Court Becky Hill has unethically and potentially unlawfully used her political office to obtain and release confidential information. She has used her office and misallocated funds to promote her book and the book written by Michael DeWitt. Hill has neglected the office of the Clerk of Court to take several trips to promoter book and meet with Netflix to secure her position in the upcoming series. Hill's actions have displayed she's unfit to hold the office of Clerk of Court,

7:50 and its signed by the person who wrote that. So after this investigation, as I said, the Ethics Commission does open and investigate and charges Becky Hill with those seventy six counts. The documents are very lengthy, as a matter of fact, they're twenty five pages of allegations. I'm not going to go over all that individually, but you did hear some of those accusations in that letter I just read you, and that's pretty damning. And if you'll remember, on September fifth of twenty twenty three, six months after the verdicts were announced, Dick Carpoutlin and Jim Griffin, they filed that motion publicly that was accusing Hill of jury tampering. However, I played for you Hill's testimony as well as the verdict in that hearing and it didn't go anywhere, which was shocking to me. So of course that pressure was on.

Now, her reasoning, as she stated it for resigning, was she wanted to spend more time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, etc. But come on, we all know the truth on that, I would think, at least in my opinion. So the Ethics Commission, they get all this, they start investigating, they release the seventy six counts against Becky Hill, and then during all of this they decide there's enough here that Becky Hill may have done some criminal shit. So we're going to turn all this evidence over to the State of South Carolina and sled and see about some criminal charges being placed here. So the Attorney General's office takes that case, and the ethics hearing was delayed, was postponed really indefinitely until this criminal investigation is complete. And it may surprise you to know that, guess what, as of today, no investigation has been closed yet. And this has been going on the entire year of twenty twenty four, and what is coming up on half the year of twenty twenty five.

10:12 No criminal charges have been placed yet. As as a matter of fact, the investigation is still ongoing in this case. Why is it taking so long? Well, I'm gonna submit to you just my opinion. In my opinion, the state of South Carolina is in a very tough spot. And I'll tell you why if they find Becky Hill guilty of criminal violations, then how can you say that Alec Murdoch got a fair trial. How can you say Becky Hill was guilty of criminal violations for interfering in that trial, but yet Elic Murdoch got a fair trial. The answer is, in my opinion, you can't say both things. Both things can't be true in that Semari inside the South Carolina justice system right now is in what you might say, a pretty big fucking pickle. And that's why I think it's taken so long. And also, interestingly enough, Becky Hill's son, Colt Hill, He's facing criminal wire tapping charges after intersecting communications of a county employee, which could result in additional legal consequences for Becky Hill's family. Just a wild chain of events here, but I'll definitely keep you posted as information comes out. And I've got a couple of other things I want to cover with you that are Alec

11:44 Murdock related. One is an article that came out about La starting a brawl at a strip club way back in nineteen ninety three, in which deputies had to drive him home. And I want to cover this if it's pretty crazy it says, in the early morning hours of February twenty eighth, nineteen ninety three, Ellik Murdoch, now fifty three, was accused of starting a violent brawl at a strip club on hilton Head Island. At least two men were injured during the fight. Three men were charged with public disorderly conduct. Elick, who was twenty five at the time and enrolled at the University of South Carolina School of Law, was one of those men, but he was not taken to jail. Around midnight, a group of ELC. Murdoch's friends went to the bar at Cadillac Club to order more drinks, but the bartender decided it was time to cut them off.

12:42 They appeared intoxicated, so ARE refused to serve them. The bartender wrote in his statement to deputies they were somewhat belligering. Immediately after Elick Murdoch decided he needed another drink, another gentleman approached the bar, a tall, heavy redhead. The bartender row he asked for another beer, and I refused him service as well because he appeared intoxicated. The redheaded gentleman became abusive and I asked him to leave, but Elick allegedly wouldn't go, so the bartender called over two bouncers to escort him out of the club. The bouncers, both in their early twenties, attempted to remove Alex from the establishment.

13:22 Once the gentleman reached the doors, one of them wrote about Elick, he instantly became more aggressive and was asking in certain words to fight. Another employee of the club noticed that the bouncers tried to get quote the guy with red hair outside, but he refused to go. Then he started to get all his friends all riled up. This is when the bouncers were bum rushed by ten to fifteen of Elick Murdoch's friends. They began to push and shove and it became extremely violent. There were three to four men pushing, shoving, and swinging at me. All of the men were highly intoxicated, and I did not know who had bottles or weapons and who was going to attack me from behind, one of the bouncers wrote.

14:04 The bouncer was then clocked on the back of the head by one of Alex's friends. He turned around and punched the dark haired gentleman, who was an apparent friend of Alex's, in the face. The bartender who had refused to serve Elek and his friends saw what was happening. He secured his cash box and went to help the bouncers, one of whom called nine one one. Another employee wrote he heard verbal threats being made and saw one of the bouncers get thrown against a window. The employee said he grabbed the man responsible for assaulting the bouncer and pushed him against the wall. A sergeant with the Marines stationed on Paris Islands was also at Cadillacs that night and witness of the brawl. He wrote in his statement to deputies that were there that it was a big mix up of fighting men in the lobby of the club.

14:55 The bouncer was telling the problem guys to lead, but they were riding and didn't want to, so they had to force them out, and one of them hit a window and started trouble as the smaller bouncer was swung at, and the bouncer avoided the swing and retaliated with a nice punch, and the drunk got what he deserved. The bouncers were in the right and the customers were in the wrong in this case. Deputies arrived shortly after being called. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene to tend to Eleck's friend, who was punched in the face by a bouncer and bleeding. That friend, a twenty seven year old man from Mount Pleasant, refused medical aid, but later said he wanted his friends to take him to the hospital.

15:37 A deputy was sent to Hilton Head Hospital to wait for the man's arrival, but according to reports, the man never arrived. The man, who was identified as the man that assaulted the bouncer, was ticketed and charged with public disorderly conduct. Neither him nor Elick were arrested. Another man, a twenty seven year old from Columbia, was charged with public disorderly conduct as well, but was taken to jail. The report does not detail what this man allegedly did, nor does it note whether he was part of Elick's group. After the deputies broke up the fight, Elick was issued his ticket. A deputy Patrolman First Class Walter Krittle, drove him home. According to the report, Murdock was not able to drive, nor was he able to obtain a ride home.

16:25 The deputy noted. According to the report, Alex lived in the Varnville area at the time, a sixty seven mile, one hour and twenty minute drive from Hilton Head. At the time, the sheriff of the Buford County was DJ Lucas. Elick and the other two men charged that night were scheduled for a hearing on March twenty ninth of nineteen ninety three. The report does not include copies of the tickets that were issued, nor does it note the outcomes of the cases. A background check done on Elec Murdoch through Nexus noted that the charge was dismissed on March twenty fifth of nineteen ninety three. Murdoch graduated from law school just over a year later and was admitted to the South Carolina bar in November of nineteen ninety four.

Said murdoch used his law background to help other, inmates but not for free.
