Exposed: Investigates | The Mica Miller Case Part 2

I am your host, Jim Chapman, and we are back with this part two of the Micah Miller case as part of our Exposed Investigates series. And the last time that I left you, Micah Miller had found nine one one saying she was about to commit suicide and wanted her family to know where her body was located and we're going to pick it up right there.

During that call that Mike and Miller abruptly hung up the phone, but fortunately prior to disconnecting, and as you heard, the nine to one one operator was able to hammer down a general location, which was the Lumber River State Park in Robinson County, North Carolina. Now, while it's nice that they had a general location in Lumber River State Park, it is some help, but not a great help. Lumber River State Park is vast at thirteen thousand, six hundred and fifty nine acres and the park spans one hundred and fifteen miles along what is known as the Lumber River.

2:50 So imagine if you're dispatch to go check on this young woman who just threatened suicide, and all you had to go on was she's somewhere in the fourteen thousand acres of lumber River State Park. So immediately Robinson County Deputies reach out to the park superintendent. Now this is at three zero five PM, and park rangers throughout the park they start searching. At three point twenty pm, the police request a cell phone ping from Verizon Wireless to try to get a more accurate location as to where Mica is. They're trying to triangulate things right. At three point thirty one, deputies arrive on the scene and they start assisting rangers in the search, along with requesting a drone to assist with that search. At three point forty two pm, the police request another ping from Verizon Wireless.

3:51 And I mean law enforcement, they're taking this very seriously. They're moving really fast and doing everything they can do can considering they got a call. And I'm look, whether you realize it or not, there are a lot of fake calls suicide or otherwise that police get that send them on wild goose chases and assholes. They all think it's funny. But despite all that, they're doing everything they can here. At three point fifty pm, the drone arrived and around the same time police are approached by a fisherman. Now, this fisherman states that he heard what sounded like crying coming from the bank near where he was fishing. He was in his boat. Then about three minutes later he hears a single gunshot and when he went to check it out, he finds a bag with an idea in it about two feet from the water's edge. So the police they look in the bag and in fact it is the idea of Micah Miller. So the next thing they do they say, show what's where you found this, And while they are scrambling to get to where he found the belongings, a kayaker contacts Robinson County nine one one and said he located a body in the water.

5:14 Now this is at four twenty three pm. And here's what that call sounded like. I mean one, we'll see address of your emergency. Among state park. I'm sorry, your phone is breaking up very bad. I can't hear you. Is that any better? Yeah, that's better. Okay. I'm in Princess Anne State Park and I just made contact with a deputy. I didn't get his name I think I just found a body in the water down there, you know it here where they just talked to the guy white, own orange T shirt and a kayak. He'll know where I'm at.

6:04 Okay, hold On wants take it for me. Okay, okay. So deputies get down there to where Micah Miller's body was found and they start their investigation. Now, Mikea's body was found prone, which essentially means she was lying face down in the water and she was submerged in the water beside tree limbs about one hundred feet from where police found two spent shellcasings in one live round. Then at five point thirty, the chief of Detectives arrives at that location. Now, around this time, they also locate Micah's vehicle in the parking lot of that state park, and inside they find the following a gun case for a Sig Sour branded gun on the passenger seat, a box of ammunition in the center console, a receipt for the handgun purchase from a pawnshop, a receipt from a convenience store, and both of those receipts were dated the same day, April twenty seventh of twenty twenty four, which is the day Micah allegedly committed suicide at seven eleven pm. The firearm that went to the case they found in the car.

7:22 It's also located in the water. And the serial number on that recovered weapon did match the gun case found in MICA's car in the receipt. So the investigation really cranks up, really starts, and the police did an amazing job of tracing MICA's steps that day. That's the first thing they're. Going to do. Where has she been on this day prior to her death? And I'm going to tell you everything that she did that day, April twenty seventh of twenty twenty four, And this was all caught on camp. At ten thirteen am, Micah is seen on her ring camera she's leaving her residence in Myrtle Beach. At eleven am, Micah is seen arriving back at her home via her ring camera. At eleven thirty eight am, the ring camera picks Micah leaving her residence again. At twelve twelve pm, Micah is seen on store surveillance walking into what's known as Dick's Pawnshop in Myrtle Beach. At twelve thirteen pm, she's seen inside the store buying a weapon. At twelve thirty four PM, she's seen leaving Dick's Pawnshop after purchasing a weapon and ammunition.

8:44 At one oh six PM, Micah's black Honda Accord is seen traveling on Highway five oh one in Conway, South Carolina. At one point twenty seven PM, Micah's black Honda Accord is seen arriving at a grocery store. At one point thirty five PM, Micah is seen leaving that store after buying a drink and gas. And you can actually they have video of all this. I'm gonna post it for the celebrity members on Patreon, but you can see her pumping up her gas and all those sorts of things. Then at two point fifty four pm that day, that's when she made that nine to one suicide call. Now, in all of those sightings, which were all on camera, as I've stated, Micah was alone. She was seen buying the gun the police found in the water. They found the case in the box of ammo in her car that was from the same gun she allegedly killed herself with.

9:46 They had a nine to one one call for Micah herself saying I am going to kill myself seems pretty open and shut, right, what with a history between her and JP Miller. The police they're not taking any chances and they're gonna start investigating JP in his movements while awaiting the Corners report in the Medical Examiner's report. More on that later, but it didn't take long for the horrible news to make its way back to South Carolina and Myrtle Beach, and the next day, on April twenty eighth, J. P. Miller announced to his church the sad news and y'all, this created quite a bit of speculation due to what was seemingly his lack of emotion. Here's what it sounded like.

10:37 We're not gonna do alter call today. Instead, instead, I'm gonna have you stand up and I'm gonna make an announcement. And after the announcement, I'm gonna ask that you you leave church finally and don't talk about the announcement here in the building. Easy, if you can't see, yall can stand to your feet before. I make an announcement. Also want to say that I'm my request to you is that you will continue to come to church and serve and give. For the next you know, little bit. I don't want to have I'm taking a little bit of a break and I don't want to have to worry about the church. My break. Maybe a few days, a few weeks, I don't know. I got a call late last night. My wife has passed away.

11:18 And yeah, and it was it was self induced, and it was up in North Carolina. And we're gonna have a funeral for her next Sunday here at three p m. And so's it's all I can. Yeah, I'm just kind of going on adrenaline right now. So y'all pray for me and my kids and everybody. And she was she wasn't y'all knew that she wasn't well mentally, and then she needed the medicine that was hard to get to her. And so I'm sure there'll be more details to come. But just keep our family in your prayers. And I'm gonna let Pastor Randall a bishop, he can pray. I get the mic pray out and if you have anything you want to share as well, I appreciate. 12:00 Also on that day, April twenty eighth, Micah's sister Sierra, she posted on Facebook and said, quote, don't listen to the false stories being told about her, and of course she's talking about Micah. That same day, a friend of the thirty year old said she spoke to Michah Miller multiple times the week she died, and her final text to her on the Friday night before her death was not a woman about to die, but a woman making plans to live. And all of this is fueling a ton of speculation around JP Miller. Then, on April thirtieth, just three days after MICA's death, a complaint is phoned into police, and I'm going to read it directly from the police report. It simply said complaintant stated that his wife passed away and is trying to get belongings out of the apartment Micah's apartment, but the leasing manager will not let him in due to quote her not liking him unquote. Once an officer on standby while he gets some belongings out of the apartment. So shout out to the apartment manager there, who apparently gave J. P. Miller a little bit of a hard time and wouldn't let him into the apartment. And my first thought when I read that was man three days after her death, he sure was in a hurry to take possession of Mike's things,

13:31 in my opinion, seemed kind of strange. Now, it didn't take long before the talk started circulating in Myrtle Beach. And as a matter of fact, just three days later, on March first, leaders at Solid Rock Church they file a police report with concerns about an influx of harassing messages in the wake of Mike's death, especially as it relates to what they called TikTok slice. And it was everywhere at that time, and you couldn't open TikTok without seeing, you know, someone trying to break down this case. So on May second of twenty twenty four, J. P. Miller he holds a church staff meeting where someone unbeknownst to him was recording from a cell phone, and they leak that recording and I have a copy of it. So listen to this.

14:36 Books heard seven years. Three days after we got buried, she got an auganization, and when she came out of the inn sesia, she. Was speaking different languages if she thought she was, And so I didn't know. What to do. We discovered married, so I took it. The recressented though I'm see you somehow took some something that was some blood. As to call it out. She gets her friends and black over too, and they said it tapped me and something was already there. Because her body was under arrest or something. So they cut her on some medicine and the continually worked. So a few months later she was facing into us too, found some other medicine that didn't work. So you must think she tapped if I got unlook.

15:20 Over the years, O life in marriage has been berket from the sun the field. When she comes out of it, she from off other because her family would sometimes tell her to make sure we gain weight, or he makes your slow. Or something, and so she'd come up to other things were happenings, like. She'd think the dog was baby Jesus, or she would forget my name. When she went to the hospital of twenty twenty two, that episode she clear we were married. So she actually got church proposed. We were already a six years and a few months ago she sent. She's in her family to text, and I found on her phone saying that I'll be out by I'm looking for a look, and I feel greatful and then over yet you don't get in.

16:07 You're fine about. It, And so she had another episode in an episode she uh record for episode she. Thought the artificial intelligence after her going through exact, she felt that if I. Was gonna lock her up somewhere and then do. Things for her mind, and so she's she left and her daughter, her mental develop felt present and she was the Mica Polers gets the printed and stopped taking them. And it's having hallucinations for lousions. It's sir, her felt. He called the shares office and figure her up. They called me. What they did is just Stebruary the fourth to fifth.

16:52 I called her family to say, don't go to give her over gets herself and and they exected her. So the Sheriff's after you need her up. So she ran off from South Carolina. She ended up blacking little beats the next day and they picked it over and. They took her to the hospital by our house, which I was told about the police. And that's the worst little good to And I didn't know she'd do the others white house, you know. There they said that she found a cute psychosis bipolar disorder correct episode man I called the features and uriens of bear. They also said that she was canvas dependents, which she's never very looked at cammis her who entire life. So she was honestly telling everything that they're one true anyway.

17:41 So all the places she's been, it's the one place that never put on aliping. So when she got out, thought she was happy about people coming out to her were still there and so she. Left me then think that I was after her, and she did over the next two weeks two months, very very psychotic things. She would have never been her come life with you ever. She tried to get to eight different people or for the past two months. She even emailed the Secretary of STATEUM asking for. I texted over forty eight different people that my life was having some topic episode, that she needs her lifting him and not a single persona some.

18:24 Try, but my life is very very strong, very strong, and so she says it's not gonna do something. You know, from the same factor. I text all o her family numerous times. I sit in the doctor's reports. I said in a voice that she was from the doctor, say she needs it right away, and nobody believed. Everybody thought that I was just meaning it up. I saw her a few weeks ago, even. Asked about four hours and I spent all four hours trying to. Trick her and take her medicine. She wouldn't do it. I have that full four hours on the court a few months ago. But she actually stood up and gave her a. Testimony where she got four week simple that I'm word to do you all that.

19:08 I've gone to the several times. Literally, just keep it quiet. I'm a pastor. You can see what happened to public doesn't get something that's like an appropriate quick gets together. No one was doing things. I'm took her the court and they deemed her I mentally ill and needed medication, but not a danger. To herself or others. So you didn't not force her to the possible. I did everything I could possibly do try to get her help. And uh so I got a call and I you know, and I didn't think it was real. I thought it was a fake ball. So I got her. He's another fellow to call people to see this, and so that was real. Uh I got to see her by the next day. I got to keep it from four times fuller, he said. And they said that she got bread for.

20:00 Work Saturday morning, her for clothes, he said. She didn't where I even I even took from her a c fee, so she could not do this and I protected the family pleased. On ever, she was trying to get a little bit. She went to the beach. I don't know where yet, but said she got the lumber. Two she's never been to her life. She Parker Clark State Park and she walked an hour into the woods. She went down byline and she called the police and she called the police, find my little. Patient out of my body, which they had said, like, no word, let's call about herself.

20:42 But they said yes, and you know she. Did what she did in a kayaker found the body and I just said out a few hours ago from somebody got a flat. Mike had told them three years ago she was researching me if she ever did this in. A being one more time to part, even though she knew you assistant. You know, people are saying a bunch of vulticle things. The the main culport of the vunical things, Kim BEng and you actually used to work here, uh Ken the elation for a very very short time. Kim actually did eat his wife or do to jail, and our church actually failed him. Out taking him good counseling. If they left, that's the last time we ever saw her.

21:26 It gives me what doing the sole thing of abuse, Mike, this never wants to abuse higher life by me, never. Ever for sad she was such a struggle office. If you dare come to meet her, uh, you'd be the word that to deal with ground that was never the thing. Well part of allucinations, the lutis and in the diasta lives. All behind closed the organs. People that are h I think she was mean, he won't and she was up there. What keeps you absolutely perfect? I mean perfectly, very way in honor. You know, we all want to let it wrong too, illness of some people about a bed, some people you know, I said, whatever. Heart disease, it's just something you have to take care of.

22:07 A most parts we get once a year or twos in her Christmas. That's why, Lad, I'm really sorry. I'm very sorry to move off into it, very very sorry. I believe it'll blow over a few weeks, especially after the pass definitive if she supports. I haven't even had a chance to prepare for the funeral. Club the people of this every single day, my kids are steering. I'm getting death breats being to her killed her. You know a school with miss big Gas, I would know one of that.

22:49 She was a very explorman and she could not stand. She could not. Stand and you gole got to social media and then the sick. Watched it. If you have any questions, look you ry take spear and ast you any word, I'll see you know what's going on. Don't believe her. You can't ask me. Ask me. I had a private out of her. Those who will try to get her weapon and so I had. A lit a tracker. They would tell me trying to I mean know if she got here either name. No. Weapon, spices here you know, but she didn't. We didn't.

23:30 They took the fact off of for weeks ago. It's a chancing, you know, most all of us are friends that she would have been fighting eyes and said she. Was feeling a little bit of weird. But but this is a sip of It's not a circumstantial thing. So if you have seen her, you couldn't stop. If you were told her, it wouldn't stop. You gave her a million dollars. But it's not circumstantial. It's a mental thing. Although it was time I was supposed to trying to do it and. Ask her you heard different things, so she would wake her up in the morning to say, y'all are supposed to die tonight. Stuff wrong? You need? So do you want me to get you something? For some reason, my brain's selling down take her to moments of.

24:18 So JP, as you can tell in that clip, he's sticking to this whole mental health aspect as it relates to Micah. In the same day, JP gives a verbal interview with ABC fifteen in South Carolina, saying, quote, she was probably the greatest wife anyone could ever ask for. She was incredibly affirming. We spent every night together for hours, just talking and talking. He went on to say, so over the years since we've been married, some people struggle with high blood prussure, some people struggle with diabetes, some people struggle with mental health. And whenever she stayed on her lithium, thing were great. She'd come off sometimes and things would get a little unusual. But per her doctors, they told her even recently that she was homicidal and suicidal.

25:10 And just as high as someone can go up, they can go just as low. And so the high as you know, you can see those on film, and all the lows were a lot of times behind closed doors, and she had struggled with suicide before, and each time we helped her through it and took her to her doctor and we got through it and everything was fine. She even gave a few testimonies here at church. We have on video of times where she had battled suicide, but God took care of her and got her through it. And so this pastime, it's still a shock. It's an incredible shock. And those were those early statements that JPM Miller would give. And then her obituary was released, and I'm going to read that for you. It says Micah Killer, thirty, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, April twenty seventh of twenty twenty four. She was born March seventh, nineteen ninety four, in Wichita, Kansas, a daughter of Michael Francis and Angelita Ramirez. She is survived by her husband, Pastor John Paul Miller of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, step children Logan, Zachary, Eli, Asher, and Salah, and one brother, Nate Francis and his wife Victoria, four sisters, Anna Francis, Sierra Brown, and her husband Matt Abby Francis and Destiny Barontos and her husband Nicholas. Michael was energetic, affirming, adventurist, faithful, loving,

26:43 giving forgiving, talented, joyous, creative, assertive, bold, determined, authoritative, passionate, hard working, arrest taker, and so much more. She and JP have been friends since two thousand and nine, married in twenty seventeen, and spent amiss every single day and night together. Michah loved her little dog, Loki. She loved doing outdoor activities like waterfall repelling, hiking, skydiving, running, and going to the beach. Michah would take on any challenge, even if it was being a vegan for an entire year. Michaeh was a great stepmother and an amazing wife and helpmate. She helped Pastor JP with the church in every way. Michael was the worship leader, graphics designer, youth leader, woman's ministry leader, and pastor's assistant, and she did all of this with the utmost integrity and faithfulness. Micah made the greatest of efforts to always be the best wife she could be. She truly served Jesus and her husband with all her heart. She would praise her husband after every church service, telling him he was the best preacher in the world, even if it wasn't true. She also told him he was the funniest preacher in the world, even though that wasn't true either. Michah loved her family so much.

27:56 She looked forward to every text from her father or She sought every opportunity to pour into her sisters. There were thousands of nights she would pray out loud for God to always bless and take care of her family. They were constantly on her mind. Micah wanted more than anything for each member of her family to serve Jesus continually. Michah loved her ice, bath, nice car, saw on a house, et cetera. But more than anything on earth, her desire was to see people come to Jesus and then it goes into a celebration of life and list all of that. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to and it gives a website to sponsor a child in Africa Now. It was on May fifth that a dual memorial for Michah Miller took place, one with a service that was led by her husband, John Paul Miller, and another organized by friends and family. Outside the venue of the church service, a group of demonstrators gathered wearing purple shirts with messages advocate for domestic violence awareness and channing justice for Micah, so it's already out there that her and JP had had their issues. Then, on Tuesday, May seventh of twenty twenty four, police release the following statement to media. A death investigation that has tugged on the hearts of people across the nation has been ruled a suicide.

29:26 This decision was based on surveillance footage, interviews, physical evidence in the examination of the North Carolina Medical Examiner's office. On Saturday, April twenty seventh, twenty twenty four, at approximately two point fifty four pm, Robinson County nine to one one Communications Center received a call from a female. The caller asked the dispatcher if her phone could be located because she was going to kill herself and wanted her family to be able to find her body. During the conversation with the dispatcher, the caller hung up the phone and the dispatcher was unable to contact the caller. The dispatcher was able to find the location of the caller and dispatch a deputy to that location. The deputies contacted the Lumber River State Park superintendent. Upon their arrival at the state park in North Carolina, the deputies and state park rangers conducted a search of the area for the victim.

30:23 The search was aided by the Robinson County Sheriff's Office drone. During the investigation of black Honda Corp. With South Carolina plates was located in the parking lot of the state park. The investigators confirmed the vehicle belonged to Michael Miller, thirty, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Investigators located a gun case in the passenger seat of the vehicle in a box of ammunition in the center console of the vehicle. Investigators find a receipt for the handgun from the pawnshop that she went to and a receipt from a convenience store in the vehicle, and both of those receipts were dated the same day of Miller's death, April twenty seventh of twenty twenty four. During the search of the park for the nine one one collar, investigators were approached by an individual who would found a bag near the water edge with identification belonging to Miller. The individual stated he heard someone crying in a gunshot while he was fishing. Law enforcement continued the search and EY nine to one one received a call from an individual who stated that a body was located in the water. Law enforcement responded to the location and contacted the North Carolina Medical Examiner's office.

31:37 Upon locating the deceased, the victim was identified as Michael Miller. A six hour nine millimeter handgun was located in the water at the crime scene during the search of the area. In The serial number on the weapon match the gun box that was found in Miller's Honda Accord. During the investigation, Miller's phone and other personal belongings were located. A search of Miller's phone revealed that she conducted a Google search for national parks near me, and the lumber River State Park location was provided. The investigation also revealed that Miller and her estranged husband, John Paul Miller, had been separated and were involved in the legal system. This information led investigators to confirming the whereabouts of Miller and a female he is allegedly romantically involved with. Investigators were able to confirm that both individuals were not in North Carolina on the night before or the day of Miller's death. Investigators learned through interviews that John Paul Miller was at an athletic event in Charleston on the day of Michael Miller's death.

32:48 John Miller's vehicle was observed traveling at two twenty two PM on April twenty seventh of twenty twenty four. The investigation confirmed that John Miller was accompanied while traveling to and from an event in Charleston, South Carolina. On Tuesday, May seventh of twenty twenty four, Sheriff Wilkins, investigators, and the medical examiner met with the parents and immediate family members of Micah Miller. John Paul Miller was given the opportunity to attend a separate meeting, and Miller indicated through his attorney that he would not come to North Carolina to meet with investigators. Investigators conducted several interviews and developed a timeline in relation to Miller's death on April twenty seventh of twenty twenty four. And I went through the timeline already with you of the day leading up to Mike's death, so I won't go over that. It goes on to say first, let me say on behalf of the Robinson County Sheriff's office that are sincere condolences are being sent to the family and friends of Micah Miller that from Sheriff Wilkins. This incident has ordered much attention from across the Carolinas and beyond, and I want to assure everyone that this is a very methodical investigation and it was conducted by our criminal investigations team and crime scene investigative team. Unfortunately, rumors and conspiracy theories were spreading

34:18 quickly and assumptions were being made. However, in the end, we must make our decisions based on facts and evidence that has been gathered. While I know it's not what many people wanted to hear, the evidence is quite clear and quite compelling, and we are saddened as anyone that this has occurred. There are many factors that we have reviewed that occurred over an extended period of time that are probably related to the reason for this investigation. But in the end, sadly, a tragic decision was made by Micah that ended her life. And that was the statement from the investigating sh Briff's office. Now, so I'm not going to cover this entire medical examiner's report, but I will mention what he said about Micah's previous attempts at suicide in her mental diagnosis. So here's how that read.

35:17 Medical records documenting Decen was hospitalized on November twenty ninth of twenty twenty two until December fifth of twenty twenty two on suicidal precautions for bipolar disorder, recurrent manic episodes, and dependent personality disorder. Medical records stated two prior mental health hospitalizations in a previous suicide attempt with a firearm. Records on two seven of twenty four also stated eight gummy consumption and increased paranoida with bizarre behavior. The family did confirm her previous suicide attempt by firearm and that was I guess you could say the summer from the medical examiner, okay. So, as referenced by the police investigators, they determined that John Paul was traveling to Charleston for a sporting event on April twenty six, which was the day before Mica died. Now, this was proven through witnesses and license plate readers, according to police, and detectives did confirm that he stayed overnight in the Charleston area. Now, John Paul Miller was traveling from Charleston back to Myrtle Beach on April twenty seventh, which they've actually got pictures through license plate readers showing that at like two twenty two PM, which was during the time Micah Miller was

36:50 placing that suicide call, he was not anywhere near where she was, and he was with other people and we'll get in to who he was with in a subsequent episode. And look, it was around this time that a lot of information was coming out, especially as it relates to the mental abuse that JP was doling out on Micah in my opinion, And one of the things that came out concerns those razor blades. Remember in the first episode when I told you about Micah calling nine one one saying someone was slashing her tires, she had some kind of device on there that you could get from Amazon. Well, some really shocking information that relates to that came out regarding a private investigator that was following Micah and actually caught her in the act, so to speak, with a young man who was an employee at JP Miller's church.

37:54 He was of age, but he was younger. Now, of course JP discovered this and he has a conversation with this young employee of his by the name of DJ Wilson. And here's the recording of what happened when Micah spots that PI and he approaches her. Walk away through the pictures. Do you want to go to jail? Go be on Facebook in a few hours. Alrighty, you'll be in jail in a few hours. Then JP Miller, he calls DJ Wilson, that employee who was kissing Micah, and here is the actual recorded phone call.

38:35 Where did you touch her? I mean just. Nowhere, nowhere below overpros. I mean that's a promise. Well, the person that saw on got the pictures, said that you touched her chest. I don't know. I mean we kissed, so maybe like her face, nag, But I promise you. Nothing below the chest, and she and she touched you where. Just the same place, like my face and like my chest.

39:16 My guy said, there was more than that, more than what, more than what you're telling me. Well, I'm telling you, if you have the videos and the pictures, you can fact check it. I mean, he'll have he'll happen to me by morning time. But he told me there was more than that. That's that's exactly what happened. There was nothing more and then than kissing, nothing more. I promise you that, and. Then you'll see that he said the birth of y'all touched each other inappropriately. No, And you know this is adultery, right, This is straight up adultery. I do. And I'm repenting to you. Because we're not we're not legally separated. Even if we were to separated, still adultery.
