Part 2 of a 2 Part Series
From the hype-filled streets of sneaker culture comes one of the most bizarre true stories of the year: the rise and explosive fall of Ricky Foster, the man at the center of the viral documentary series The Devil Wears Dunks. Ricky Foster, a Denham Springs, Louisiana local, burst onto the scene as a supposed high-rolling investor and rare Nike collector.

He dazzled sneaker stores, collectors, and enthusiasts with tales of private jets, luxury homes, multi-million-dollar deals, and insider access to ultra-rare Dunks and Nike samples. It all sounded too good to be true… because it was. What started as a routine sneaker transaction quickly unraveled into a web of lies, manipulation, broken families, and shattered trust.

In this episode, Jim Chapman dives into the "Dads of Denham" group Ricky co-founded as well as a botched deal to buy a local restaurant and investigations into charity funds that never made it to their destination.

1
00:00:19.679 --> 00:00:23.399
Hey everyone, and welcome back to Exposed Scandalous Vials of

2
00:00:23.440 --> 00:00:26.600
the Elite. I'm your host, Jim Chapman, and today I

3
00:00:26.679 --> 00:00:31.559
am bringing you part two of the series, Sneakers to Shackles.

4
00:00:31.640 --> 00:00:31.960
Now.

5
00:00:32.000 --> 00:00:36.039
Throughout part one of this series, I covered the investigation

6
00:00:36.240 --> 00:00:39.079
done by the Boys of Echo as it relates to

7
00:00:39.280 --> 00:00:42.600
Ricky Foster, and I wanted to be sure with that

8
00:00:42.719 --> 00:00:46.600
episode that I gave them their flowers, if you will,

9
00:00:46.719 --> 00:00:49.119
for the hard work that they put in bringing this

10
00:00:49.240 --> 00:00:52.840
story to the public and following through to the point

11
00:00:52.920 --> 00:00:57.439
that a rest were made and people were being held accountable.

12
00:00:57.759 --> 00:01:00.439
So going forward, I'm going to touch on some things

13
00:01:00.439 --> 00:01:03.359
that they uncovered, because you can't tell the full story

14
00:01:03.399 --> 00:01:06.879
without that information. But it was also my goal with

15
00:01:07.000 --> 00:01:11.319
this series to answer some of the questions the viewers

16
00:01:11.519 --> 00:01:16.400
of the Devilwares Dunks series had when they watched the show.

17
00:01:16.640 --> 00:01:19.760
For example, in episode one, I spent a good bit

18
00:01:19.840 --> 00:01:22.280
of time on that episode trying to give you an

19
00:01:22.319 --> 00:01:25.200
idea of who Jeremy Green was down here.

20
00:01:25.079 --> 00:01:25.599
In the Bayou.

21
00:01:26.079 --> 00:01:30.400
Most people had no idea who he was. Moreover, most

22
00:01:30.439 --> 00:01:34.359
people who watched the documentary from here in Louisiana really

23
00:01:34.400 --> 00:01:38.319
didn't have any idea what sneaker culture was. If you're

24
00:01:38.359 --> 00:01:41.640
not in that sneaker culture, you're not gonna understand it

25
00:01:41.719 --> 00:01:44.280
unless someone explains it to you. So I tried to

26
00:01:44.319 --> 00:01:47.200
do just that, just fill in some of the gaps

27
00:01:47.239 --> 00:01:50.719
for people who were not familiar with Echo, Jeremy Green

28
00:01:50.959 --> 00:01:55.560
or sneaker culture and explain how they crossed paths with

29
00:01:55.760 --> 00:01:58.519
Ricky Foster. So from here on out, you're gonna hear

30
00:01:58.599 --> 00:02:02.480
my personal perspective on this case. So let's get into it,

31
00:02:02.519 --> 00:02:05.159
and I'm going to start out by covering where Ricky

32
00:02:05.280 --> 00:02:08.840
Foster's name surfaced right here in Denham Springs, and that

33
00:02:09.000 --> 00:02:11.919
is by being one of the founders of a group

34
00:02:12.199 --> 00:02:16.159
called Dads of Denim. Now, if there's one thing that

35
00:02:16.199 --> 00:02:19.840
we know how to do here in South Louisiana, it's tailgate.

36
00:02:19.919 --> 00:02:21.879
Go to Tiger Stadium on any.

37
00:02:21.680 --> 00:02:25.560
Given Saturday when the Tigers are playing at home, and

38
00:02:25.680 --> 00:02:29.599
you will totally get what I'm saying here. It's an atmosphere,

39
00:02:30.080 --> 00:02:33.919
in my opinion, like no other food, music, and one

40
00:02:34.000 --> 00:02:38.199
hundred thousand of your best friends in that atmosphere transfers

41
00:02:38.280 --> 00:02:41.000
to baseball as well. And if you have ever been

42
00:02:41.080 --> 00:02:44.360
to Omaha, when LSU was in the College World Series.

43
00:02:44.680 --> 00:02:45.280
You get it.

44
00:02:45.840 --> 00:02:51.039
No one can tailgate like the LSU Tiger fans. Now,

45
00:02:51.199 --> 00:02:55.400
some high schools they have a similar atmosphere, and Denham

46
00:02:55.439 --> 00:02:59.919
Springs High School probably lack that. And that's no slot.

47
00:03:00.240 --> 00:03:03.439
I'm a Yellowjacket through and through. My wife graduated from

48
00:03:03.479 --> 00:03:07.400
Denim Springs High School. All three of my kids graduated

49
00:03:07.400 --> 00:03:10.479
from Denham Springs High School. It just is what it is.

50
00:03:10.520 --> 00:03:13.919
It's something that maybe kind of lacked there. So it

51
00:03:13.960 --> 00:03:17.840
was in twenty twenty one that personally I took notice

52
00:03:17.879 --> 00:03:20.599
of something, and that was a group of guys with

53
00:03:20.719 --> 00:03:24.000
a heck of a setup at Denham Springs High School.

54
00:03:24.080 --> 00:03:28.719
During these games, they had a really nice trailer, blairing music,

55
00:03:28.879 --> 00:03:31.960
some really good pastilia, and they were just giving that

56
00:03:32.039 --> 00:03:35.719
stuff away for free. All were wearing t shirts that,

57
00:03:35.919 --> 00:03:39.039
in one way or another said Dad's of Denim, and

58
00:03:39.080 --> 00:03:41.000
I was honestly intrigued.

59
00:03:41.039 --> 00:03:41.680
They seemed to.

60
00:03:41.599 --> 00:03:44.000
Be having a good time. All of them appeared to

61
00:03:44.039 --> 00:03:47.080
be about my age. I walked up to one of them,

62
00:03:47.400 --> 00:03:50.599
not named Ricky Foster, and me and this guy started

63
00:03:50.639 --> 00:03:53.400
talking about what it was they were doing, and it

64
00:03:53.599 --> 00:03:56.680
all sounded good to me. They were just kind of

65
00:03:56.800 --> 00:04:02.520
drumming up awareness for dad's supporwarding their sons and their

66
00:04:02.680 --> 00:04:08.000
daughters and just being family oriented atmosphere right there at

67
00:04:08.000 --> 00:04:11.400
the football game. Now, there were eight guys in the

68
00:04:11.520 --> 00:04:14.479
Dads of Dedham group, at least to the point that

69
00:04:14.560 --> 00:04:18.160
I became familiar with them, and Ricky was right where

70
00:04:18.160 --> 00:04:18.879
he wanted to be.

71
00:04:19.199 --> 00:04:20.680
He was the face of that.

72
00:04:20.680 --> 00:04:25.480
Group, so much so that the logo was Ricky complete

73
00:04:25.639 --> 00:04:29.000
with a backwards hat. But the group itself, they had

74
00:04:29.199 --> 00:04:32.959
a really good mission. They wanted to encourage support between

75
00:04:33.079 --> 00:04:36.360
fathers and sons and fathers and daughters and all that

76
00:04:36.399 --> 00:04:38.839
sort of thing, and they wanted to make it a

77
00:04:39.040 --> 00:04:44.000
fun atmosphere at Yellowjacket Stadium. And it is important that

78
00:04:44.199 --> 00:04:48.480
people do not conflate any of these guys from this

79
00:04:48.680 --> 00:04:53.759
group with Ricky Foster and what he has done or alleged.

80
00:04:53.240 --> 00:04:53.959
To have done.

81
00:04:54.560 --> 00:04:58.000
These were good guys. Ricky just ended up being the

82
00:04:58.120 --> 00:05:03.360
bad apple that spoiled the bunch. So initially my interaction

83
00:05:03.639 --> 00:05:06.959
with Ricky was pretty limited. You ever get a vibe

84
00:05:07.240 --> 00:05:11.399
off someone, just something that you can't explain, you can't

85
00:05:11.439 --> 00:05:14.199
really put your thumb on it, but a feeling is

86
00:05:14.279 --> 00:05:17.920
there that something's not right. That was kind of the

87
00:05:18.160 --> 00:05:22.480
vibe that I got off Ricky. First of all, anyone

88
00:05:22.680 --> 00:05:26.839
passed forty that wears their hat backwards. I mean, honestly,

89
00:05:26.959 --> 00:05:31.240
the word toolbag comes to mind instantly for me. That's

90
00:05:31.279 --> 00:05:34.680
something you know kids do, And that's just my opinion. Hey,

91
00:05:34.759 --> 00:05:37.040
if you're over forty and you wear your hat backwards,

92
00:05:37.360 --> 00:05:40.279
all good, bro. I'm just saying I think it's weird.

93
00:05:40.480 --> 00:05:43.920
But aside from all that, it was the things he

94
00:05:43.959 --> 00:05:47.240
would say or do when we would interact that kind

95
00:05:47.279 --> 00:05:50.480
of caught my attention. For example, at one point I

96
00:05:50.600 --> 00:05:54.199
found out Ricky worked for a very well known car

97
00:05:54.319 --> 00:05:58.319
dealer in the Baton Rouge area as a finance manager. Well,

98
00:05:58.519 --> 00:06:01.319
I had some experience with that way back in the day.

99
00:06:01.360 --> 00:06:03.399
As a matter of fact, this is way back in

100
00:06:03.480 --> 00:06:07.000
the late nineties, before I started what would become my

101
00:06:07.160 --> 00:06:11.399
career of twenty three years. Prior to getting into podcasting,

102
00:06:11.879 --> 00:06:16.800
I had also been a finance manager for a large dealership.

103
00:06:16.879 --> 00:06:19.920
So I asked Ricky about it because at one point

104
00:06:20.279 --> 00:06:24.560
I had actually worked at the same dealership though twenty

105
00:06:24.639 --> 00:06:30.639
five years prior. Well, Ricky quickly changed the subject unless

106
00:06:30.639 --> 00:06:33.519
as sin as I brought it up. I didn't push it,

107
00:06:33.839 --> 00:06:37.240
but I noticed it, and it made me think instantly

108
00:06:37.480 --> 00:06:40.639
something was definitely going on with his job.

109
00:06:41.160 --> 00:06:41.360
Now.

110
00:06:41.360 --> 00:06:44.759
I would hear later and it would be put out

111
00:06:44.839 --> 00:06:50.319
later that he was actually renting cars to people, allegedly

112
00:06:50.839 --> 00:06:54.040
renting cars to people while he was at that job

113
00:06:54.160 --> 00:06:57.959
for cash, and he was using what we called the

114
00:06:58.079 --> 00:07:02.839
learner vehicles or the vehicles that the salespeople would get

115
00:07:02.879 --> 00:07:07.279
his demos. He was actually running those and keeping the cash.

116
00:07:07.480 --> 00:07:10.759
That was the allegations. I have no direct knowledge one

117
00:07:10.759 --> 00:07:13.839
way or the other. On another occasion, I asked Ricky

118
00:07:13.879 --> 00:07:17.199
about the Dads of Denim and if they allowed anyone

119
00:07:17.279 --> 00:07:20.800
to join, if there was a cost to join the tailgate.

120
00:07:20.399 --> 00:07:21.000
Et cetera.

121
00:07:21.279 --> 00:07:24.439
And he said, well, we just keep this a tight

122
00:07:24.800 --> 00:07:25.560
knit group.

123
00:07:25.680 --> 00:07:26.759
We don't really.

124
00:07:26.560 --> 00:07:29.360
Open it up to other people. And that was something

125
00:07:29.399 --> 00:07:34.040
I found really strange. The group was actively promoting that

126
00:07:34.120 --> 00:07:37.959
they were helping the community, etc. And yet they were

127
00:07:38.040 --> 00:07:42.040
not opening this up to having extra help, more hands

128
00:07:42.079 --> 00:07:45.000
on deck, maybe even a little more money to use

129
00:07:45.079 --> 00:07:47.879
to help, you know, all these charities and things that

130
00:07:47.920 --> 00:07:50.800
they were doing. In hindsight, I can see now that

131
00:07:50.920 --> 00:07:55.800
it's likely Ricky new, the less people involved, the less

132
00:07:55.879 --> 00:07:59.519
chance he would have a people discovering he was completely

133
00:07:59.560 --> 00:08:03.519
fullish and that he was scamming his own friends, scamming

134
00:08:03.600 --> 00:08:08.600
the public, and was a total fraud allegibly. Now, Ricky

135
00:08:08.639 --> 00:08:12.800
would work hard to maintain a persona of a person.

136
00:08:12.519 --> 00:08:14.040
Of wealth, if you will.

137
00:08:14.120 --> 00:08:18.240
His setup from the cooking pots he used, to the generators,

138
00:08:18.319 --> 00:08:21.879
to the sound system, to the cars he drove, and

139
00:08:21.959 --> 00:08:25.240
of course his shoes were all top notch.

140
00:08:25.360 --> 00:08:26.199
He would walk.

141
00:08:26.000 --> 00:08:29.839
Around with kind of an entourage of sort, and he

142
00:08:29.879 --> 00:08:33.320
would even flaunt some friends that I had heard he

143
00:08:33.320 --> 00:08:38.559
would later scam. I distinctly remember one game in particular

144
00:08:38.720 --> 00:08:41.639
where such a friend was with him. It was a

145
00:08:41.679 --> 00:08:44.799
guy very well known in the Baton Rouge area as

146
00:08:44.960 --> 00:08:50.159
Tebow the Firecracker now Tbo, in my opinion, is no joke.

147
00:08:50.320 --> 00:08:53.440
Y'all would not know this, but if you search through

148
00:08:53.480 --> 00:08:57.600
my playlist on Spotify, you'll see a lot of every

149
00:08:57.679 --> 00:09:01.399
type of music you can imagine. One of my first

150
00:09:01.519 --> 00:09:04.960
loves was rip music. I've been a fan of it

151
00:09:05.120 --> 00:09:08.440
my entire life. I can still remember when I first

152
00:09:08.759 --> 00:09:13.840
heard easy E way back in nineteen eighty seven at

153
00:09:13.840 --> 00:09:18.200
a track meet. I remember it distinctly. That's how far

154
00:09:18.240 --> 00:09:21.759
back I go in that genre. And I've actually been

155
00:09:21.759 --> 00:09:24.559
a fan of t Bows since way back in the

156
00:09:24.679 --> 00:09:28.840
day when he signed with Master P and No Limit Records.

157
00:09:28.960 --> 00:09:31.720
So he shows up at a football game and Tbo's

158
00:09:31.759 --> 00:09:33.759
with him, and I thought, Man, this guy he must

159
00:09:33.759 --> 00:09:36.840
be legit. He knows some big players in the area,

160
00:09:36.879 --> 00:09:40.000
and he's parading t bow around like it was his

161
00:09:40.159 --> 00:09:43.840
trophy during this game. I mean it was obvious for

162
00:09:43.879 --> 00:09:46.840
Ricky was like, hey, look at me, y'all. I got

163
00:09:46.879 --> 00:09:50.720
those connects if you will. But there was no denying,

164
00:09:51.200 --> 00:09:55.559
at least from appearances, Old Ricky was covering all his bases.

165
00:09:56.200 --> 00:10:00.120
Dad's a dentim. They kind of started appearing everywhere in

166
00:10:00.159 --> 00:10:05.960
the newspaper, at charity events, and even on podcast, including

167
00:10:06.039 --> 00:10:09.960
my own local leaders. I wanted to promote groups like

168
00:10:10.200 --> 00:10:14.519
Dads of Denim through the podcast who from all appearances,

169
00:10:14.639 --> 00:10:18.120
they were doing great things for the community, and truth

170
00:10:18.200 --> 00:10:22.759
be told, I personally didn't care for Ricky all that much.

171
00:10:23.120 --> 00:10:25.519
I still got that vibe out of him. But there

172
00:10:25.600 --> 00:10:28.159
was another member of that group I'm not gonna mention

173
00:10:28.240 --> 00:10:30.440
the name of, and I liked that guy a lot,

174
00:10:30.480 --> 00:10:32.799
and I had a lot in common with that guy,

175
00:10:32.960 --> 00:10:38.639
So honestly, we spent pretty much the entire episode poking

176
00:10:38.679 --> 00:10:42.000
fun at Ricky mainly. But I'll tell you this, when

177
00:10:42.200 --> 00:10:46.320
all this came out with Ricky Foster, I was so

178
00:10:46.799 --> 00:10:49.720
embarrassed that he was actually on my show that I

179
00:10:49.919 --> 00:10:54.240
deleted on a whim. I deleted that podcast, and now

180
00:10:54.320 --> 00:10:58.720
I almost wish I didn't, because it would be interesting

181
00:10:58.799 --> 00:11:02.120
for y'all to be able to see how much he

182
00:11:02.200 --> 00:11:07.159
could change and be this completely different individual behind a

183
00:11:07.240 --> 00:11:09.159
camera than what he's alleged to be.

184
00:11:09.440 --> 00:11:09.799
Now.

185
00:11:10.000 --> 00:11:13.879
So eventually, the Dads of Denim they disbanded, and I

186
00:11:13.919 --> 00:11:17.879
still somewhat recall the final posts that they put out

187
00:11:17.919 --> 00:11:21.840
on Facebook, where it read something like, and I'm paraphrasing here,

188
00:11:21.919 --> 00:11:26.240
but basically, after much thought, we have decided to disband

189
00:11:26.320 --> 00:11:29.519
the group. Thanks for the memories some shit like that,

190
00:11:30.000 --> 00:11:33.159
and then boom they were gone. And I knew upon

191
00:11:33.519 --> 00:11:38.320
reading that almost instantly, Oh, there is much more to

192
00:11:38.440 --> 00:11:43.039
that story.

193
00:11:44.240 --> 00:11:46.080
Jim. Did you see what happened in Texas today?

194
00:11:46.320 --> 00:11:48.799
Wait before you tell me that, let me tell you

195
00:11:48.840 --> 00:11:50.039
what happened in New York.

196
00:11:50.159 --> 00:11:52.000
It cannot be as crazy as the case I told

197
00:11:52.039 --> 00:11:53.600
you about. Yesterday in Louisiana.

198
00:11:53.759 --> 00:11:56.639
You know what, we should do a podcast about it.

199
00:11:56.840 --> 00:11:59.679
And with that we did. Crime War Weekly covers the

200
00:11:59.759 --> 00:12:01.960
crime news headlines that have dominated the week.

201
00:12:02.159 --> 00:12:05.679
We cover trending crimes from all over the country and

202
00:12:05.799 --> 00:12:08.200
even sprinkle in a few globally.

203
00:12:08.399 --> 00:12:11.080
Crime War Weekly is available now wherever you listen to

204
00:12:11.120 --> 00:12:12.679
your podcasts.

205
00:12:12.000 --> 00:12:15.759
Simply by searching Crime War Weekly or clicking the link

206
00:12:15.960 --> 00:12:19.240
in the description of this podcast.

207
00:12:24.519 --> 00:12:24.759
Now.

208
00:12:24.840 --> 00:12:28.879
Later members who would choose to remain anonymous, would tell

209
00:12:28.919 --> 00:12:32.440
several stories on how they discovered Ricky was a fraud

210
00:12:32.639 --> 00:12:35.440
and that he was bringing all of their names down.

211
00:12:35.679 --> 00:12:40.039
One story that was told was the dads of Denim. Look,

212
00:12:40.120 --> 00:12:43.919
they would cook enough pastali to feed say three hundred

213
00:12:43.960 --> 00:12:48.440
people or more, and each game they had a deal

214
00:12:48.519 --> 00:12:51.480
with each other. From what I understand, that a member

215
00:12:51.879 --> 00:12:54.679
would pay for the ingredients to make all this food.

216
00:12:54.759 --> 00:12:57.360
So I'm just gonna make it easy math here. If

217
00:12:57.360 --> 00:13:00.960
there were eight home games and there's eight members of

218
00:13:01.000 --> 00:13:03.159
that group, one person.

219
00:13:02.879 --> 00:13:04.679
Would pay for each game.

220
00:13:04.960 --> 00:13:07.559
This person would give Ricky the money and he would

221
00:13:07.600 --> 00:13:10.399
buy the ingredients and they would get to cook it.

222
00:13:10.919 --> 00:13:15.519
The problem was, allegedly Rericky was running a scam on

223
00:13:15.600 --> 00:13:18.240
his own people. He would get the money, and then

224
00:13:18.279 --> 00:13:20.559
he would go to the grocery store and he would

225
00:13:20.559 --> 00:13:25.360
convince a local grocery store to donate all the ingredients,

226
00:13:26.000 --> 00:13:28.759
and then he would just pocket the money as if

227
00:13:28.759 --> 00:13:32.519
he paid for all of this food, stealing from his

228
00:13:32.600 --> 00:13:37.159
own friends and never batting a freaking eye. That ought

229
00:13:37.159 --> 00:13:40.159
to tell you a lot right there. In another instance,

230
00:13:40.240 --> 00:13:43.759
according to a member, Ricky had told everyone there was

231
00:13:43.799 --> 00:13:47.600
a wealthy older lady she wanted to donate twenty five

232
00:13:47.679 --> 00:13:51.120
thousand dollars to buy a new sound system for Denim

233
00:13:51.159 --> 00:13:54.799
Springs High School's football stadium. And he tells the guys, look,

234
00:13:54.919 --> 00:13:58.879
start calling around getting quotes and all those sorts of

235
00:13:58.879 --> 00:14:01.320
things so we can get this lined up. He reaches

236
00:14:01.360 --> 00:14:03.960
out to the media and he tells him, Hey, we're

237
00:14:03.960 --> 00:14:08.519
going to donate through this wealthy lady, twenty five thousand

238
00:14:08.519 --> 00:14:11.919
dollars for this new sound system. It was a big deal.

239
00:14:11.960 --> 00:14:14.879
They had like a giant check ready to go, and

240
00:14:14.919 --> 00:14:18.000
they did photo ops and the media was there, and

241
00:14:18.159 --> 00:14:21.039
these guys go through all this, meaning the other guys

242
00:14:21.080 --> 00:14:24.440
that the dad's had Denim to get quotes, et cetera.

243
00:14:24.600 --> 00:14:26.759
And in the end all a big lie. There was

244
00:14:26.840 --> 00:14:31.200
no twenty five thousand dollars, there was no wealthy older lady,

245
00:14:31.399 --> 00:14:33.200
and there was no sound system.

246
00:14:33.720 --> 00:14:34.399
And that's what.

247
00:14:34.559 --> 00:14:39.480
Made Ricky really dangerous. He would lie just for the

248
00:14:39.559 --> 00:14:42.759
sake of line. So these guys eventually they figure it

249
00:14:42.759 --> 00:14:45.000
out and they're like, we gotta get out of here.

250
00:14:45.039 --> 00:14:47.759
We got to get away from this guy. We want

251
00:14:47.799 --> 00:14:51.840
nothing to do with this guy in the group disbands

252
00:14:51.919 --> 00:14:55.600
and Ricky goes dark for a little while, but it's

253
00:14:55.639 --> 00:14:58.159
not long before he's back and he's got a brand

254
00:14:58.200 --> 00:15:02.080
new Facebook post, and on that post he announces the

255
00:15:02.120 --> 00:15:06.919
formation of a nonprofit group called Dads of Denham two

256
00:15:06.960 --> 00:15:10.440
point zero, where he's gonna hold course shows and other

257
00:15:10.519 --> 00:15:15.519
events to serve as a charity donation arm if you will. Now,

258
00:15:16.000 --> 00:15:19.960
in between all this, at some point, Ricky decides he's

259
00:15:20.000 --> 00:15:23.080
gonna get into the restaurant business, and he sets his

260
00:15:23.279 --> 00:15:27.960
sight on a restaurant in Denham Springs called James Grill. Now,

261
00:15:27.960 --> 00:15:30.200
if you're not from here, I got listeners from all

262
00:15:30.240 --> 00:15:35.039
over the world. James Grill is a staple of this community.

263
00:15:35.080 --> 00:15:38.159
It's been around forever. I don't know exactly how long,

264
00:15:38.240 --> 00:15:40.960
but I would say at least fifty years. And the

265
00:15:41.000 --> 00:15:45.080
owner of this grill is a very popular local city

266
00:15:45.240 --> 00:15:48.720
marshal by the name of Joe Shoemate. And we all

267
00:15:48.799 --> 00:15:53.159
called Joe Shoemate Joe Mack, great guy, but no nonsense,

268
00:15:53.279 --> 00:15:57.480
and has been in law enforcement forever, and that's important

269
00:15:57.519 --> 00:16:00.679
to this story. This restaurant all and so has been

270
00:16:00.679 --> 00:16:05.039
in his family forever. And Ricky approaches Joe Mack at

271
00:16:05.039 --> 00:16:07.919
some point and he basically says, hey, look, I want

272
00:16:07.960 --> 00:16:10.279
to buy this restaurant, and I want to know how

273
00:16:10.360 --> 00:16:12.759
much you would sell it to me for. And Joe

274
00:16:12.799 --> 00:16:16.440
Mack basically says, here's my price if you want it,

275
00:16:16.799 --> 00:16:20.399
and not a penny less, no negotiation here. If you

276
00:16:20.480 --> 00:16:22.000
want to buy it, this is what it's going to

277
00:16:22.120 --> 00:16:26.279
cost you. Ricky says, no problem, because you know Ricky's rich, right,

278
00:16:26.440 --> 00:16:29.519
He says, I'll take that deal. And this thing goes

279
00:16:29.720 --> 00:16:32.399
all the way to the closing, and Ricky's got just

280
00:16:32.480 --> 00:16:33.320
one problem.

281
00:16:33.759 --> 00:16:34.720
He ain't got the money.

282
00:16:34.799 --> 00:16:39.000
He took things all the way to the closing and

283
00:16:39.120 --> 00:16:42.919
had no freaking money and knew he didn't have the money.

284
00:16:43.000 --> 00:16:46.480
And of course Ricky, he's full of excuses. He gives

285
00:16:46.559 --> 00:16:50.840
Joe Mack a ton of them. He tries to buy time, basically,

286
00:16:50.960 --> 00:16:53.519
and Joe says, look, I'm gonna give you one more

287
00:16:53.559 --> 00:16:57.120
shot at this thing, but you better not be screwing

288
00:16:57.200 --> 00:16:59.799
me around on this deal. But in the end, that's

289
00:17:00.080 --> 00:17:03.720
exactly what Ricky was doing. He was just screwing Joe

290
00:17:03.759 --> 00:17:07.039
Mack around for all intents and purposes. And there was

291
00:17:07.079 --> 00:17:11.319
no money and the restaurant obviously never changed hands. Now

292
00:17:12.039 --> 00:17:14.880
this says a lot about Ricky in this point in

293
00:17:14.920 --> 00:17:18.319
his life because he's taking a lot of risk. It's

294
00:17:18.480 --> 00:17:22.519
one thing to screw over the dad's a denim and

295
00:17:23.000 --> 00:17:26.559
other guys who are regular guys.

296
00:17:26.359 --> 00:17:27.200
In the community.

297
00:17:27.319 --> 00:17:32.359
It's another thing to screw over a longtime law enforcement

298
00:17:32.440 --> 00:17:36.279
individual who is currently the city Marshall named Joe Matt

299
00:17:36.400 --> 00:17:39.240
and Joe Mack don't forget, and he didn't, and it

300
00:17:39.359 --> 00:17:42.480
was just a matter of time before Ricky would screw

301
00:17:42.599 --> 00:17:46.319
up enough that he would land on Joe Mack's radar

302
00:17:46.799 --> 00:17:50.160
once again. So let's go to December of twenty twenty

303
00:17:50.200 --> 00:17:55.519
three and Marshall Joe Mack. He contacts the Louisiana AG's

304
00:17:55.599 --> 00:18:00.640
office after allegations are brought to his attention regarding charity

305
00:18:00.680 --> 00:18:05.720
event a car show held by Ricky Foster's nonprofit Dads

306
00:18:05.720 --> 00:18:08.759
of Denim two point zero, and it was supposedly going

307
00:18:08.839 --> 00:18:12.720
to contribute the car show proceeds to the mega charity,

308
00:18:12.920 --> 00:18:17.400
Saint Jude, and Joe Mack was made aware that no

309
00:18:17.519 --> 00:18:21.480
money was ever sent to Saint Jude allegedly, and he

310
00:18:21.680 --> 00:18:27.119
reports the information as he should, to the proper investigative channels. Now,

311
00:18:27.200 --> 00:18:32.640
the AG's office has an investigative arm, and this investigative

312
00:18:32.880 --> 00:18:38.079
arm is known as LBI, which stands for the Louisiana

313
00:18:38.119 --> 00:18:43.039
Bureau of Investigation. And two investigators they're assigned to review

314
00:18:43.160 --> 00:18:48.200
these allegations, and they are agents. Timothy Moe's an agent,

315
00:18:48.759 --> 00:18:53.640
Danny McAllister. So, so talk about a freaking small world.

316
00:18:53.839 --> 00:18:57.200
One of those agents, Tim Moey's, we go way back.

317
00:18:57.680 --> 00:19:00.759
We go back to high school together. We have known

318
00:19:00.799 --> 00:19:05.119
each other for like thirty five years. Tim Mowies was

319
00:19:05.279 --> 00:19:08.720
actually one of the guys that stood in my wedding. Now,

320
00:19:08.759 --> 00:19:11.920
I had no idea or knowledge he was involved in

321
00:19:11.960 --> 00:19:16.640
any case involving Ricky Foster until I came across this

322
00:19:16.759 --> 00:19:18.119
investigative report.

323
00:19:18.480 --> 00:19:19.240
But I was shocked.

324
00:19:19.240 --> 00:19:22.240
I was like wow, what a small world. That's my boy, Tim.

325
00:19:22.279 --> 00:19:26.039
So moving on the two investigators that interview several people.

326
00:19:26.240 --> 00:19:30.440
They speak with Brandon Browning from episode one, I told

327
00:19:30.480 --> 00:19:33.799
you about his story, and Brandon tells them the same

328
00:19:33.839 --> 00:19:38.039
story I told you in episode one regarding Ricky offering

329
00:19:38.119 --> 00:19:42.880
this three hundred thousand dollars job to Brandon that never existed.

330
00:19:43.359 --> 00:19:46.759
And they also speak with his ex wife, who advised

331
00:19:46.920 --> 00:19:49.839
she knew about the car show vaguely, but she had

332
00:19:49.880 --> 00:19:53.640
no idea of the proceeds. They were already divorced during

333
00:19:53.720 --> 00:19:56.279
this time. So I'm going to cover the rest of

334
00:19:56.319 --> 00:20:00.599
this verbatim because it's really important that you hear the us. So,

335
00:20:00.759 --> 00:20:04.480
going through the report, they talked to William Foster Senior.

336
00:20:04.839 --> 00:20:08.640
On October twenty third, at approximately nine to fifteen, Agents

337
00:20:08.759 --> 00:20:14.079
Moise and McAllister contacted William Foster Senior by phone. Agent's

338
00:20:14.200 --> 00:20:17.440
advice William the reason for the call and further explained

339
00:20:17.440 --> 00:20:21.440
to William they received information that he planned and coordinated

340
00:20:21.480 --> 00:20:24.279
with the Saint Jude car show. William denied that he

341
00:20:24.359 --> 00:20:28.119
had coordinated the aforementioned car show and referred agents to

342
00:20:28.240 --> 00:20:32.839
Wesley LeBlanc. William said that Wesley oversaw the car show event,

343
00:20:32.880 --> 00:20:38.160
and incidentally, y'all, Wesley was Ricky's business partner when he

344
00:20:38.279 --> 00:20:41.240
bought that trucking dealership in Florida, so it goes on

345
00:20:41.279 --> 00:20:44.160
to say. William also stated he and Wesley were both

346
00:20:44.240 --> 00:20:48.440
currently attending the Cruising on the Coast car show in Biloxi.

347
00:20:48.799 --> 00:20:52.279
When agents asked about Ricky's involvement with the Saint Jude

348
00:20:52.279 --> 00:20:57.279
Carr show, William became non cooperative and belligerent, accusing agents

349
00:20:57.359 --> 00:21:01.200
of harassment. William further stated agents could speak with his

350
00:21:01.279 --> 00:21:04.960
attorney over the matter, at which time he abruptly ended

351
00:21:04.960 --> 00:21:08.359
the phone call. On October twenty seventh, twenty twenty three,

352
00:21:08.440 --> 00:21:12.759
agent Moise and McAllister contacted William by phone and scheduled

353
00:21:12.759 --> 00:21:16.799
an in person with William for Monday, October thirtieth, twenty

354
00:21:16.799 --> 00:21:20.400
twenty three at the office. William stated he was using

355
00:21:20.480 --> 00:21:26.319
Wesley LeBlanc's attorney, Tommy, who practices law out of North Carolina,

356
00:21:26.519 --> 00:21:28.799
so to get that statement, and they reach out to

357
00:21:28.920 --> 00:21:32.759
Wesley LeBlanc. On October ninth of twenty twenty three, at

358
00:21:32.759 --> 00:21:39.200
approximately nine o'clock, Moise and McAllister contacted LeBlanc by telephone

359
00:21:39.359 --> 00:21:43.559
and provided him with the agent's contact information. LeBlanc provided

360
00:21:43.599 --> 00:21:47.279
agents with his current address in Florida, and agents further

361
00:21:47.400 --> 00:21:51.160
explained to LeBlanc they received information that he had planned

362
00:21:51.160 --> 00:21:54.759
and coordinated the car show in Denim Springs. Leblac provided

363
00:21:54.799 --> 00:21:55.920
the following information.

364
00:21:56.240 --> 00:21:56.880
Listen to this.

365
00:21:57.240 --> 00:22:00.920
LeBlanc denied he coordinated the car show and had no

366
00:22:01.119 --> 00:22:04.960
knowledge of the event taking place. Leblah further advised he

367
00:22:05.079 --> 00:22:07.759
was never at cruising on the coast with William Foster

368
00:22:07.920 --> 00:22:11.559
Senior or anyone else in October of twenty twenty three,

369
00:22:11.839 --> 00:22:15.759
despite William's claim to agents in the phone interview that

370
00:22:15.799 --> 00:22:19.640
they were together. Leblac also stated he never met William

371
00:22:19.680 --> 00:22:22.440
in person or spoke with him on the phone. During

372
00:22:22.480 --> 00:22:26.240
the conversation with LeBlanc, he advised that he met Ricky

373
00:22:26.400 --> 00:22:29.160
through his first cousin, and I'm not going to say

374
00:22:29.160 --> 00:22:31.920
her name because that's his ex wife and she doesn't

375
00:22:31.920 --> 00:22:36.240
need to be mentioned here. Agents later verified information provided

376
00:22:36.279 --> 00:22:40.359
by William was not correct. According to William, LeBlanc and

377
00:22:40.480 --> 00:22:43.680
Wesley stated he doesn't know anyone by the name of Tommy,

378
00:22:44.200 --> 00:22:47.559
nor has he referred an attorney. So you got William

379
00:22:47.559 --> 00:22:52.000
Foster Senior saying one thing and Wesley LeBlanc saying something

380
00:22:52.160 --> 00:22:56.519
completely different. And here's a good investigation tip for you.

381
00:22:56.559 --> 00:23:00.880
The truth never changes. Someone's lying here. The agents do

382
00:23:01.119 --> 00:23:04.839
get an in person interview with William Foster Senior and

383
00:23:04.880 --> 00:23:08.400
that occurred on October thirty first of twenty twenty three.

384
00:23:08.519 --> 00:23:11.880
They interview him at the LBI Baton Ridge office and

385
00:23:12.000 --> 00:23:15.279
Agent Moise explained the purpose of the interview and he

386
00:23:15.400 --> 00:23:19.920
provided the agent's contact information. William provided the agents with

387
00:23:20.000 --> 00:23:23.440
his current address and the following information. He said that

388
00:23:23.519 --> 00:23:27.119
he and Ricky Foster Junior hosted a car show on

389
00:23:27.319 --> 00:23:31.039
June third of twenty twenty three. William said their investor,

390
00:23:31.200 --> 00:23:34.519
Wesley LeBlanc, was supposed to give money to the Saint

391
00:23:34.640 --> 00:23:36.640
Jude Hospital for tax purposes.

392
00:23:36.920 --> 00:23:38.480
Now remember they've already.

393
00:23:38.319 --> 00:23:41.359
Spoke to Wesley and he said I didn't know anything

394
00:23:41.400 --> 00:23:44.319
about this. William stated that he and Ricky were assisted

395
00:23:44.359 --> 00:23:47.119
by family members during the car show. William said the

396
00:23:47.119 --> 00:23:51.079
car show included free emission with free giveaways. These items

397
00:23:51.079 --> 00:23:54.960
included t shirts, bottled water, free food, free trophies. There

398
00:23:54.960 --> 00:23:58.640
were donation buckets set up throughout the event, and William

399
00:23:58.759 --> 00:24:01.319
said they only had thirty five cars at the show

400
00:24:01.640 --> 00:24:05.519
and earned around three thousand dollars in donations, which paid

401
00:24:05.559 --> 00:24:06.599
for their expenses.

402
00:24:06.799 --> 00:24:07.359
As a matter of.

403
00:24:07.359 --> 00:24:09.440
Fact, he said that he and Ricky had to pay

404
00:24:09.440 --> 00:24:12.720
one hundred and fifty dollars out of pocket for expenses

405
00:24:12.799 --> 00:24:16.559
to make an undisclosed donation to Saint Jude by the

406
00:24:16.640 --> 00:24:19.559
end of the year. When asked again, William did have

407
00:24:19.640 --> 00:24:23.440
met Leslee Leblone did not have any affiliation with the

408
00:24:23.480 --> 00:24:27.240
car show, in contradiction of what he first reported to

409
00:24:27.319 --> 00:24:30.480
the agents in a previous interview. So he just got

410
00:24:30.559 --> 00:24:34.480
caught lion right there period. It's in the paperwork. And

411
00:24:34.480 --> 00:24:38.119
then we get to Ricky Foster Junior, who they finally

412
00:24:38.160 --> 00:24:41.079
got to speak to on the same day, and Ricky

413
00:24:41.119 --> 00:24:44.160
stated that he and William Foster Senior hosted a car show.

414
00:24:44.279 --> 00:24:47.480
Ricky stated he and William were assisted by family members.

415
00:24:47.759 --> 00:24:50.559
He went through that the car show was free admission

416
00:24:50.960 --> 00:24:54.680
and everything at the car show was free, basically coroborating

417
00:24:54.799 --> 00:24:59.400
everything that William Foster said. However, Ricky said they only

418
00:24:59.440 --> 00:25:01.480
had thirty five five cars of the show. It earned

419
00:25:01.480 --> 00:25:04.799
approximately two thousand dollars in donations, so there are one

420
00:25:04.799 --> 00:25:07.720
thousand dollars off of each other on how much money

421
00:25:07.799 --> 00:25:11.039
was taken in that's very weird. He said that that

422
00:25:11.240 --> 00:25:14.480
paid for expenses, and he did say that they had

423
00:25:14.519 --> 00:25:16.519
to come out of pocket one hundred and fifty dollars

424
00:25:16.640 --> 00:25:21.319
themselves for expenses. He denied, ever, stating that he made

425
00:25:21.400 --> 00:25:25.759
sixty thousand dollars from the car show. Now, apparently there

426
00:25:25.799 --> 00:25:28.920
had been some rumor or he had told somebody he

427
00:25:29.039 --> 00:25:32.680
made sixty thousand dollars from that show. Now he's saying

428
00:25:32.720 --> 00:25:36.000
he made two thousand dollars from that show. Ricky said

429
00:25:36.000 --> 00:25:40.279
he was part owner of TSI Trucking Service with Wesley LeBlanc,

430
00:25:40.440 --> 00:25:44.079
located in Florida. He said he and Wesley filed bankruptcy

431
00:25:44.160 --> 00:25:47.480
on that trucking company. Ricky said he lost his job

432
00:25:47.559 --> 00:25:51.119
with the company in his marriage of eighteen years. He

433
00:25:51.160 --> 00:25:53.359
said his intentions, where do you use the car show

434
00:25:53.440 --> 00:25:56.640
for tax purposes? And for a loss of fifty five

435
00:25:56.680 --> 00:26:00.400
thousand dollars that he sustained from the trucking com company

436
00:26:00.880 --> 00:26:04.559
while closing the business, he said he had never donated

437
00:26:04.839 --> 00:26:07.680
to Saint Jude Hospital. Then it gets into the conclusion.

438
00:26:07.720 --> 00:26:11.279
It says agents Moise and Mcalliser were assigned to review

439
00:26:11.359 --> 00:26:15.279
the case. Referred from Denim Springs Marshall Joe Shuemate Agents

440
00:26:15.319 --> 00:26:19.119
reviewed the case for possible criminal wrong doing and misappropriation

441
00:26:19.240 --> 00:26:23.519
of funds. The investigation revealed Ricky Foster Junior and William

442
00:26:23.519 --> 00:26:28.000
Foster Senior planned and coordinated the fundraiser. According to Ricky,

443
00:26:28.039 --> 00:26:32.400
he claims the car show earned approximately two thousand dollars. However,

444
00:26:32.559 --> 00:26:36.799
William claims the car show earnings were proximately three thousand dollars.

445
00:26:37.079 --> 00:26:40.599
Truth never changes. Both Ricky and Williams stated they had

446
00:26:40.599 --> 00:26:42.680
to pay approximately one hundred and fifty dollars out of

447
00:26:42.720 --> 00:26:46.720
pocket in addition to help pay the expenses. Both Ricky

448
00:26:46.759 --> 00:26:50.160
and William advised the car show was held for tax

449
00:26:50.440 --> 00:26:54.519
deduttion purposes. Agents believe it's not possible to prove Ricky

450
00:26:54.640 --> 00:26:58.279
or William defrauded Saint Jude of any money collected that

451
00:26:58.400 --> 00:27:01.200
day held at the Saint Jude Car Show. From interviews

452
00:27:01.200 --> 00:27:03.880
with Ricky Junior and Williams Senior, it was learned that

453
00:27:03.920 --> 00:27:07.559
two to three thousand dollars was collected. Both men reported

454
00:27:07.599 --> 00:27:11.039
the cost of the event exceeded the donations collected and

455
00:27:11.119 --> 00:27:14.960
agents could not verify or discredit the claims made by

456
00:27:15.000 --> 00:27:19.279
them Therefore, the allegations reporting the complaint by Shoemate were

457
00:27:19.400 --> 00:27:24.440
unsubstantiated through investigation and failed to provide proof of a

458
00:27:24.559 --> 00:27:28.240
violation of Louisiana law. So to kind of break that

459
00:27:28.359 --> 00:27:31.920
down for you, two issues affected the case. First, when

460
00:27:32.000 --> 00:27:34.880
you're a charity like Saint Jude, you don't want this

461
00:27:34.960 --> 00:27:38.880
stuff getting out in public because it makes people really

462
00:27:38.960 --> 00:27:42.640
apprehensive to donate because they're not one hundred percent sure

463
00:27:42.640 --> 00:27:44.400
of the money's gonna go where they want it to go.

464
00:27:44.759 --> 00:27:48.039
It makes people question whether that money is actually going

465
00:27:48.240 --> 00:27:51.079
where it's supposed to go. And second, there was no

466
00:27:51.200 --> 00:27:54.759
evidence one way or the other that the car show

467
00:27:54.920 --> 00:27:57.599
did in fact turn a profit. Now, remember in a

468
00:27:57.640 --> 00:28:01.119
Few Good Men when Tom Cruise says the quote, it

469
00:28:01.240 --> 00:28:04.559
doesn't matter what I know, It only matters what I

470
00:28:04.599 --> 00:28:08.440
can prove. Unquote, there was no evidence of the money

471
00:28:08.559 --> 00:28:12.039
that the car show made, and Ricky telling someone who

472
00:28:12.119 --> 00:28:15.680
made sixty grand he could have for sure made that.

473
00:28:15.960 --> 00:28:19.559
But then again, this guy's track record for telling the

474
00:28:19.640 --> 00:28:24.160
truth is pretty much zero. So there just was not

475
00:28:25.000 --> 00:28:28.640
anything there doesn't mean just means they didn't have the

476
00:28:28.680 --> 00:28:30.119
evidence to pursue it.

477
00:28:30.240 --> 00:28:31.079
Now that being.

478
00:28:31.000 --> 00:28:34.079
Said, if he were guilty of all this, And I

479
00:28:34.119 --> 00:28:37.079
have no direct knowledge one way or the other. But man,

480
00:28:37.200 --> 00:28:42.000
if you're guilty of this defrauding a charity like Saint

481
00:28:42.160 --> 00:28:47.200
Jude where the money goes to kids, children, babies with cancer,

482
00:28:48.000 --> 00:28:53.759
to me, that is about the lowest you can possibly go.

483
00:28:54.160 --> 00:28:56.799
In life, bar none.

484
00:28:56.880 --> 00:29:01.440
You are a disgusting human being if that is in

485
00:29:01.480 --> 00:29:04.759
fact true. And in this guy's case, knowing what I

486
00:29:04.799 --> 00:29:07.240
know now, one thing I can say is that shear

487
00:29:07.279 --> 00:29:11.039
in the hell would not surprise me period. So shortly

488
00:29:11.079 --> 00:29:14.319
after this, the Dads of Denham two point zero also

489
00:29:14.720 --> 00:29:17.839
ceases to exist, and the last I heard of Ricky

490
00:29:18.079 --> 00:29:21.240
was that he left and went to Florida and bought

491
00:29:21.240 --> 00:29:26.720
an eighteen wheeler dealership. That is until the Devilwar's Dunks

492
00:29:27.240 --> 00:29:31.799
documentary came out, and that documentary uncovered a lot of allegations,

493
00:29:31.920 --> 00:29:36.079
not only a fraud involving so many people you can't imagine.

494
00:29:36.519 --> 00:29:40.920
Among the allegations that were brought in this documentary, Ricky's

495
00:29:40.960 --> 00:29:44.319
ex girlfriend, who was only twenty one years old, would

496
00:29:44.359 --> 00:29:48.680
make claims Ricky defrauded her of sixty thousand dollars, would

497
00:29:48.839 --> 00:29:51.480
lock her in a house in an effort to control her,

498
00:29:51.519 --> 00:29:53.640
and to give you an idea of how sick this

499
00:29:53.720 --> 00:29:57.400
guy is. He would want her to role play with him,

500
00:29:57.400 --> 00:30:03.880
allegedly during sex that he was her dad, fully knowing

501
00:30:04.440 --> 00:30:09.480
this young lady's dad had died years earlier. He also

502
00:30:09.599 --> 00:30:13.359
asked this ex girlfriend if she had ever had any

503
00:30:13.440 --> 00:30:17.160
fantasies of hold on to your hats here sleeping with

504
00:30:17.279 --> 00:30:21.000
his son. And that is the second time he had

505
00:30:21.079 --> 00:30:24.839
brought that up to someone he was dating, allegedly that

506
00:30:25.400 --> 00:30:29.480
we are aware of now, years prior to even his marriage.

507
00:30:29.839 --> 00:30:32.799
Way back in two thousand and five, an ex girlfriend,

508
00:30:33.160 --> 00:30:36.440
she claimed he not only stole checks from his own

509
00:30:36.599 --> 00:30:40.279
parents and would cash them and forge their names, but

510
00:30:40.400 --> 00:30:45.440
he would also steal credit card checks from her, forge

511
00:30:45.559 --> 00:30:49.720
her name, and then give this he would deposit the

512
00:30:49.839 --> 00:30:52.799
checks back into her account to make it look like

513
00:30:53.119 --> 00:30:55.960
he was helping her with her bills. So he'd write

514
00:30:56.000 --> 00:30:59.440
a thousand dollars check, forge her name to it, and

515
00:30:59.480 --> 00:31:03.240
deposit in her account and say, hey, I took care.

516
00:31:03.039 --> 00:31:03.799
Of you today.

517
00:31:04.119 --> 00:31:06.559
I put one thousand dollars in your account to take

518
00:31:06.599 --> 00:31:10.160
care of your shit. What kind of twisted individual does that, y'all?

519
00:31:10.920 --> 00:31:13.799
But what may be worse than even all of that

520
00:31:14.480 --> 00:31:18.440
were that there were allegations Ricky and his now wife,

521
00:31:18.720 --> 00:31:23.039
who he just married, y'all, within the time this documentary

522
00:31:23.119 --> 00:31:28.319
came out, Which that's important because in Louisiana law, there's

523
00:31:28.400 --> 00:31:32.480
a law that states a wife cannot be compelled or

524
00:31:32.599 --> 00:31:37.039
forced to testify against a husband, and vice versa. There

525
00:31:37.039 --> 00:31:41.920
were allegations that is now wife himself, and his now stepdaughter,

526
00:31:42.240 --> 00:31:46.000
who at this point is barely an adult. They're in

527
00:31:46.079 --> 00:31:50.559
a three way relationship. Now, keep in mind, both his

528
00:31:50.799 --> 00:31:55.359
now wife and stepdaughter are defending Ricky. They're going to

529
00:31:55.480 --> 00:32:00.640
bat for this dude, denying this shit, but both and

530
00:32:00.680 --> 00:32:03.000
I can say her name now because she's been arrested.

531
00:32:03.119 --> 00:32:06.920
She's the wife and her daughter. During a phone call

532
00:32:07.000 --> 00:32:10.400
with the boys at Echo, they go nuclear on the

533
00:32:10.400 --> 00:32:14.480
insinuation that Ricky was even around Melissa's daughter before the

534
00:32:14.519 --> 00:32:18.720
age of seventeen. And they keep bringing up before the

535
00:32:18.759 --> 00:32:22.240
age of seventeen so many times as a matter of fact,

536
00:32:22.359 --> 00:32:27.279
you can kind of ascertain it was intentional. Never during

537
00:32:27.319 --> 00:32:31.480
the conversation that I heard, did the daughter deny sleeping

538
00:32:31.559 --> 00:32:35.359
with Ricky. She just denied being around him prior to

539
00:32:35.400 --> 00:32:38.920
the age of seventeen. And what's the consent age in

540
00:32:38.960 --> 00:32:44.880
Louisiana seventeen. At this point she's nineteen. Of course, all

541
00:32:44.920 --> 00:32:49.279
of this attention on this documentary, especially in Livingston Parish,

542
00:32:49.480 --> 00:32:53.359
that leads to Ricky Foster gaining the attention of the

543
00:32:53.400 --> 00:32:58.359
Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office and a detective with a knack

544
00:32:58.920 --> 00:33:02.720
for solving just these kinds of crimes. And his name

545
00:33:03.000 --> 00:33:07.440
is Calvin Bowden, who I not only know very well,

546
00:33:07.720 --> 00:33:10.279
but I just refer to as Captain Calvin. Now, let

547
00:33:10.319 --> 00:33:12.759
me tell you a little bit about Captain Calvin. This

548
00:33:12.839 --> 00:33:15.640
is not the type of guy you want on your

549
00:33:15.799 --> 00:33:19.880
ass if you're messing with young girls. Captain Calvin has

550
00:33:19.880 --> 00:33:23.359
been with the Sheriff's Office for twenty eight years. He

551
00:33:23.519 --> 00:33:27.759
is the head of the Sheriff's Office IKAC division that's

552
00:33:27.880 --> 00:33:31.920
Internet Crimes against Children. So he is a bonafide expert

553
00:33:31.920 --> 00:33:36.359
in crimes against children. He knows exactly how to spot grooming,

554
00:33:36.680 --> 00:33:40.039
he knows exactly how these sick minds think, and he

555
00:33:40.200 --> 00:33:44.960
knows exactly how to investigate these crimes. Now, as far

556
00:33:45.079 --> 00:33:49.720
as the daughter being potentially seventeen and not sixteen when

557
00:33:49.759 --> 00:33:56.839
the relationship took place, Louisiana, surprisingly to some maybe has

558
00:33:56.880 --> 00:34:01.799
a recent law to aid in the grooming aspect of

559
00:34:01.839 --> 00:34:06.640
these crimes. It's known as Louisiana's grooming law and it's

560
00:34:06.799 --> 00:34:12.719
Louisiana Revised Statue fourteen eighty one seven, and it reads,

561
00:34:13.239 --> 00:34:16.880
a person commits the crime of child grooming by taking

562
00:34:16.960 --> 00:34:21.599
any action to persuade, induce, entice, seduce, or coerce a

563
00:34:21.719 --> 00:34:24.960
child under the age of seventeen years old when there's

564
00:34:25.039 --> 00:34:28.920
an age difference greater than two years between the offender

565
00:34:29.039 --> 00:34:32.440
and the child, to engage in any conduct intended to

566
00:34:32.480 --> 00:34:37.480
facilitate the offender committing a lewde and lascivious act upon

567
00:34:37.599 --> 00:34:40.719
that child in the child's presence or in the presence

568
00:34:40.800 --> 00:34:43.920
of another child under the age of seventeen. It also

569
00:34:44.079 --> 00:34:46.159
goes on to say, a person who commits the crime

570
00:34:46.199 --> 00:34:48.920
of child grooming shall be in prison with or without

571
00:34:48.960 --> 00:34:52.400
hard labor, not more than five years. A person over

572
00:34:52.440 --> 00:34:55.360
the age of seventeen who commits the crime of child

573
00:34:55.400 --> 00:34:59.199
grooming with the juvenile who is less than thirteen shall

574
00:34:59.239 --> 00:35:02.159
be in prison for not less than two years nor

575
00:35:02.280 --> 00:35:07.079
more than twenty five years. So it doesn't matter if

576
00:35:07.119 --> 00:35:10.400
you were actually having sex with that child. If you

577
00:35:10.440 --> 00:35:14.920
were trying to persuade coerce them by them gifts in

578
00:35:15.039 --> 00:35:18.960
the hopes that it would lead to a sexual relationship

579
00:35:19.000 --> 00:35:21.800
when they turn seventeen. You're in a lot of trouble

580
00:35:22.199 --> 00:35:25.559
in the state of Louisiana. You'd do five years just

581
00:35:25.639 --> 00:35:28.559
for that. So at this point, just because you may

582
00:35:28.559 --> 00:35:30.840
not have had sex with a sixteen year old, if

583
00:35:30.880 --> 00:35:33.480
it can be proved that you were grooming them for

584
00:35:33.519 --> 00:35:37.480
that reason, you can be prosecuted criminally in the state

585
00:35:37.519 --> 00:35:41.480
of Louisiana. And make no mistake about it. This young lady,

586
00:35:41.840 --> 00:35:46.400
she's a victim, plain and simple, a victim. And one

587
00:35:46.480 --> 00:35:51.199
thing about LPSO Sheriff Jason or Captain Calvin Bowden, They're

588
00:35:51.280 --> 00:35:55.039
gonna get justice for a lot of people in this

589
00:35:55.239 --> 00:35:58.920
case in the end. So on April first of twenty

590
00:35:59.000 --> 00:36:02.440
twenty six, Ricky Foster, who is forty six years old

591
00:36:02.519 --> 00:36:06.159
at this point, he gets arrested on ten counts of

592
00:36:06.239 --> 00:36:10.519
third degree rape, ten counts of extortion, and four counts

593
00:36:10.559 --> 00:36:15.000
of sexual battery. The victim in these charges reported Ricky

594
00:36:15.079 --> 00:36:20.199
took out loans in her name totaling some seventy thousand dollars,

595
00:36:20.559 --> 00:36:23.239
and would force her to have sex with him. Under

596
00:36:23.239 --> 00:36:26.880
the threat that he would not pay back these loans.

597
00:36:27.199 --> 00:36:31.320
These allegations took place in twenty twenty three, so we

598
00:36:31.480 --> 00:36:34.920
know the victim is not related with the whole mother

599
00:36:35.079 --> 00:36:39.480
daughter thruple situation. It's definitely a different victim.

600
00:36:39.559 --> 00:36:39.840
Now.

601
00:36:40.079 --> 00:36:42.760
His bond in this case was set at eight hundred

602
00:36:42.760 --> 00:36:46.280
and fifty thousand dollars, which he could not pay, and

603
00:36:46.360 --> 00:36:51.239
he remains in jail. Then, twenty nine days later, April

604
00:36:51.320 --> 00:36:57.960
twenty ninth, boom More investigation leads to more charges when

605
00:36:58.079 --> 00:37:02.719
Ricky gets charged with in trafficking and crimes against nature,

606
00:37:03.159 --> 00:37:08.400
which I believe is directly related to his wife and stepdaughter.

607
00:37:08.559 --> 00:37:11.400
How could I come to that conclusion. Well, the same

608
00:37:11.480 --> 00:37:16.400
day his now wife, Melissa Luke was also arrested for

609
00:37:16.599 --> 00:37:21.480
crimes against nature, which, for those unaware, in addition to

610
00:37:21.519 --> 00:37:28.119
some other things, is an incest charge. Freaking disgusting. That's

611
00:37:28.159 --> 00:37:30.039
all I have to say, and that is where we

612
00:37:30.119 --> 00:37:34.039
stand as of today. Of course, any public developments I'll

613
00:37:34.119 --> 00:37:37.119
keep you posted. Shout out again to the boys at

615
00:37:40.440 --> 00:37:43.960
arrest through. Shout out to all of you for listening,

616
00:37:44.119 --> 00:37:48.480

626
00:38:26.119 --> 00:38:33.960
your host, Jim Chapman, much love. In The Winner of

627
00:38:34.079 --> 00:38:38.559
nineteen fifty three, in a quiet, working class apartment across

628
00:38:38.599 --> 00:38:42.920
from a synagogue in Seagate, Brooklyn, a boy named Jeffrey

629
00:38:43.039 --> 00:38:54.800
Epstein took his first breath. He was the son of

630
00:38:54.840 --> 00:38:58.920
a city parks gardener and a homemaker, a freckled piano

631
00:38:59.000 --> 00:39:04.360
playing math part who skip grades, tutored classmates for pocket change,

632
00:39:04.440 --> 00:39:07.840
and dreamed of wealth while riding his bike along the

633
00:39:07.960 --> 00:39:11.440
Coney Island boardwalk. But that boy would grow into one

634
00:39:11.480 --> 00:39:16.800
of the most powerful, most connected, and most controversial figures

635
00:39:17.119 --> 00:39:19.960
of the modern age. This is not a story that

636
00:39:20.280 --> 00:39:23.679
ends where most people think it begins. This is the

637
00:39:23.760 --> 00:39:29.440
complete journey, every chapter, every detail, every unanswered question, from

638
00:39:29.480 --> 00:39:32.880
the tree lined streets of a gated Brooklyn enclave to

639
00:39:33.000 --> 00:39:36.920
the glittering boardrooms of Wall Street, from elite private schools

640
00:39:37.039 --> 00:39:40.760
to private islands, from handwritten black books filled with the

641
00:39:40.800 --> 00:39:45.480
world's most influential names, to federal courtrooms in a Manhattan

642
00:39:45.559 --> 00:39:53.480
jail cell that still fuels debate today. Come with me

643
00:39:53.599 --> 00:39:57.519
as I walk you through Jeffrey Epstein's childhood summers on

644
00:39:57.559 --> 00:40:01.400
the private beach, through his accelerated high school years, through

645
00:40:01.440 --> 00:40:05.079
his early days at Cooper Union in NYU. I will

646
00:40:05.119 --> 00:40:09.039
trace the mysterious financial empire he built with almost no

647
00:40:09.480 --> 00:40:13.800
formal credentials. You will listen to the voices of survivors

648
00:40:14.119 --> 00:40:18.760
as I examined the investigations, the sweetheart deals, the enablers,

649
00:40:18.800 --> 00:40:22.360
the protectors, and the power structures that allowed all of.

650
00:40:22.320 --> 00:40:23.239
It to happen.

651
00:40:27.840 --> 00:40:34.239
No speculation without evidence, no conspiracy without documentation, just the facts,

652
00:40:34.440 --> 00:40:40.400
the records, the testimonies, and the context that history demands.

653
00:40:46.239 --> 00:40:50.000
Over the course of this series, I will release meticulously

654
00:40:50.159 --> 00:40:55.079
researched episodes that take you deeper than any headline ever could.

655
00:40:55.480 --> 00:41:01.280
Each one built on court documents, financial filings, class mate recollections,

656
00:41:01.639 --> 00:41:05.960
investigative reporting, in the first hand accounts that have emerged

657
00:41:06.079 --> 00:41:10.599
over decades. This is the story of how ordinary ambition

658
00:41:10.920 --> 00:41:16.000
can twist into something extraordinary, and how power, once accumulated,

659
00:41:16.400 --> 00:41:21.079
can shield even the darkest secrets. So, if you're here

660
00:41:21.159 --> 00:41:24.480
because you want the full picture, the boy, the man,

661
00:41:24.840 --> 00:41:29.199
the empire, the fall, and everything left in the ruins,

662
00:41:29.719 --> 00:41:35.280
you're in the right place. Welcome to Exposed Investigates. Jeffrey

663
00:41:35.559 --> 00:41:36.159
Epstein
