0:16 Hey, everyone, welcome back. Got a slew of crime stories coming your way today and this is a special drop on a Monday. What do you think about that, Kelly? I like it. We're giving them what they want. Yeah, and I love doing this show. I think it's fun. So it's a good time for everybody. Well, let's get into the topics, and there's a lot of them to discuss. Some big time crimes occurrent all over the country, and we're going to start in La Via, Louisiana. Hey, you like that. That's awesome. Louisiana native and former UFC champ Dustin Porier is arrested at the airport after a drunken incident that was caught on camera. Of course, as they always are in this body camera. We're going to talk about that. Dustin Poitier, Louisiana native, Lafayette boy and kind of like a hero in this area. So we're going to discuss all the details.

1:12 Saint Tammany Pears Sheriff Randy Smith, we brought you his story. He was the sheriff that well beat the heck out of a podcaster in a bar after having a few too many. It sounds like a joke, A sheriff and a podcaster walking to a bar. Yeah, well he walked in there. Beat the heck out of the guy. We brought you that whole story. He has resigned after pleading guilty in court to his charges. We're going to discuss that. In New York, a man steals his ex bosses daughter's ashes and makes ransom demands. Yeah, you don't mess with with someone's dad. I guess decedent is what you would call that. You don't mess with their ashes, no matter who it is, that's wrong. Yeah, this guy was the ultimate paper I guess in his mind.

2:01 The results of Mackenzie Shirrilla's appeal are in. We're going to talk about those. Uh. Three Wendy's employees have been arrested after serving a customer garbage to say the least, I mean one hundred percent, and we we've covered a lot of these. I'm not going to fast food restaurants anymore after after covering these stories. In Spain, a woman is doused in gasoline during an escape room challenge. Never heard of that in the United States, but in Spain, apparently they take that shit suit serious. A non escape room in Michigan, a woman is caught smuggling wine into jail, and we're going to leave it to your imagination to guess where until we get to that story. In Florida, a nurse has lost her mind during a pick a ball game.

2:52 Pickleball gets people wild. It must I've never played it. I've played it well, I have not fun. It's old people. Ten. This is what I've always been told. And I'm old people, so I should be playing it well. Yeah, but I know I. Haven't as of yet, because you haven't hurt arm her shoulder. Yeah, I'm maimed these days for now. A Florida man dumps a lap dance actually doesn't pay for his tab on lap dances, And who knew you could run tabs on lap dances? Apparently this Florida man did. It leads to his arrest. We'll talk about that. A Colorado mom is charged with murder after one hundred and seventy three empty liquor bottles are found in her daughter's room.

3:38 These some of these cases, I know, it's almost hard to to take in that that can be real. Yeah, that's a ton of that's like a whole isle of liquor. Yes, And of course we'll have overtime stories as well. So let's get into today's episode. Kelly Jennings, We're going to start out in at all, right, I said LA earlier, But it's actually Atlanta where the airport was that this incident occurred and involved UFC former UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Pourier. He was arrested at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport. This was on this past Sunday for public drunkenness after he was denied boarding on a Delta flight and became aggressive with the airline staff and police. According to the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to the Delta gate. This was around five o'clock BM on June twenty first, Which what was June twenty first Father's Day?

4:40 Oh? I thought you're asking me, like the day, like literally the day of the week or something. Yeah, No, it was Sunday. It was Sunday Father's Day, and he is a father, so that of course adds insult to injury. After receiving reports of an intoxicated male passenger, the police department went to the scene after he had been fused boarding on a flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Now, police said Poorier who is thirty seven, was visibly intoxicated and agitated. He yelled profanities at Delta employees, and I'll tell you what. Instead of going into everything, he said, I'm just gonna play the clip. Clip says a lot. It's not very long. So here's that clip. Well, let's go do let's go dog, what's up a bunch of holes, Let's go, let's go line Yeah, pulling off the plane on my boys went to the.

5:38 Now with the and this is why you got all right, bro, just. I'll fight you right now. No, I don't want to fight, bro, I'll go with you right now. I don't want to fight, Bro, I don't want to I don't want to fight. Tell them, tell them just be bad. But bro, bro, Bro, what's up? Relaxed several No, it's not gonna fight. Something happened already by you. Relax. Relax, Relax, Bro, relax, relax Bill bang you up, bro, relax.

6:24 Man, just relax. Yeah, they kicked them off. This guy is like, you know, what's one of the talks to me in the beasts wine holes man's arresting wrestling. That's the best way, though, That's that's right. Pounded, pounded, an. You did a great job. You did a great job, You did what you're good Okay. So obviously and sadly, he was very intoxicated. He gets arrested. He was released on bond the very same day. And it's important to say he did release a statement on X and he said the following. He said, I'm at the point where I need some help. Walking away from fighting hasn't been easy on me, and alcohol isn't the answer. It has ruined my father's life and I will not allow it to ruin mine. My family deserved me at one hundred percent.

7:29 I'm trying to do everything I can to get my mind right and take the right steps. Now. For those who are unaware, don't follow mma. He retired from the UFC last year following a unanimous decision to Max Holloway in a trilogy fight. It was a huge fight. This was in twenty twenty five. He finished his career with a thirty and ten record. He had notable victories over Connor McGregor twice, Justin Gachie, and Eddie Alvarez, and he had previously held the interim UFC lightweight title in twenty nineteen. Yeah, one thing that stood out to me though in the interaction was whenever the cop goes, are you just uh poorier? And he when he says yes, and then he's like, no, bro, I don't want to fight. I don't want to fight, Like he automatically was like, oh.

8:16 He knew, yeah, I'm not wanting to. He was even scared to taste him. You know, I'm glad, Justin just now you got me, Justin, you said, Dustin Pourier did not get tased. I'm glad to see that. And this officer handled everything the right way. He did. He de escalated, even though very very clearly Dustin was trying to escalate that. So we got some anger problems here that and I get it, you know, that might have been his outlet. That was what you know, he's fought for a long time, and that was kind of his maybe his coping mechanism or whatever. And then you give that up and then alcohol, you know, is not probably the best the best switch here. I am glad that he did not hurt that officery, hurt anybody.

9:01 He was rude, you know, he was rude, and he was he was belligerent. He recognizes that. Let's move on. I kind of you know I'm there, but gosh, bless if you his cauliflowered ears and all that, that's number one sign if someone's wanting to buck on you and you see those ears, Yeah, don't disengage. Disengage well, And he actually obviously in his statement he said something about his ruined his father's life. So he has alcoholism apparently in his family. That's never good. But in addition to that, he also said in an interview one time, not not in the far too recent past, somebody asked him what you got going on in your life now, and he said, let me tell you something. He said, Uh, I don't have anything circled in my calendar.

9:43 And that's not a good thing for me. It's good for me when I wake up and I'm working towards something. And he is, he is really struggling with not fighting after twenty years of waking up every day training for a fight. Well, yeah, man, I really do pray for this guy because I think he's a good guy. And I think he's very lost right now because he doesn't know who he is anymore. You know, maybe he's missing a huge opportunity here that I mean, those who can't do can then teach. And so what an epic coach he could be. I mean, he knows, he knows what to do. You're a hometown hero. People around here love you, We think you're awesome. So maybe he needs to look in the mirror in a two way thing. Here. Two way is in like, you got to pick yourself up by your bootstraps. You got to lay off the alcohol, we got to make better changes.

10:33 But secondly, look in the mirror and realize who you are. Man. You're Dustin Poiet. People around here think that you're just you know, a hero. You can do something here that people will look up to. You could start a gym, you could be a coach. There's plenty of things that you can take your talent and turn it into. He just needs the right people in his corner, remaining in his corner, and I think getting him straight and on the right path, and I think he can really do some amazing things. I do, he's not a total loss. I hope that he's got people in his ear that are saying, we've got you. Get yourself straight and then let's turn this into a learning experience and you can you can be a coach. You know, you can help others right with their struggle. So come on, man, get it together. We're hoping that you that you get through this and that you turn it around, all right, and we're gonna stay here in Louisiana and give us give everybody this update on that Saint Tammany Parish thing. And I know we already kind of ran it down a little bit, but basically, this was the sheriff that was in the restaurant. He had been drinking him in, one of his ranking officers, and then that podcaster that had been running his mouth, he beat the shit out of him and then you know, kind of went downhill from there. Well, here's the update. So Saint Timny Parish Sheriff for Ranny Smith appeared in court and Covington this past Wednesday morning and he did plead guilty to the charges stemming from that altercation in Madisonville, and he agreed as part of the plea deal to resign after more than forty years in law enforcement. Now, Smith, who has been the sheriff since twenty sixteen, played guilty to one count of second degree battery, which was a felon or is a felony, and one count of disturbing the piece by ap peering in an intoxicated condition. According to the arrest warrant, Smith

12:05 had eighteen drinks on his bar tab at Keith Young's restaurant before the incident in which he allegedly punched a man from behind while the victim was celebrating his birthday. Speaking softly in court, Smith accepted responsibilities, saying quote, I must now face the consequences of my own mistake. It's something that's tough. I don't take it lightly. He apologized to the citizens of Saint Timany Parish, the staff and the Sheriff's office, and his family, while noting that he was standing up for family at the time of the incident. I made a mistake and now I'm facing those consequences, he added now. Under the plea agreement accepted by the DA's office, Smith was sentenced to two years at hard labor, but it was suspended and he was placed on two years of supervised probation with a second or special condition that he successfully complete a specialty court program expected to last fifteen to eighteen months, and upon successful completion of the program in full compliance with his probation conditions, his second degree batter reconviction can be reduced to a simple battery.

13:02 The case was investigated by the AG's office and the Saint Timothy Parish Sheriff's office requested that that outside agency handle the matter. We both know that was the right thing to do. You shouldn't investigate yourself. And the DA's office prosecuted the case. So the altercation, as we said, was May twenty ninth, and this is whenever. A second individual, Gregory Saarage, was also arrested and faced one count of principal to second degree battery for allegedly pointing out the victim to the sheriff. So Smith turned himself in on June fourth at the jail and he was accompanied by an attorney. He was booked and released within about an hour. So just one day before Smith's court appearance, the second in command at the Sheriff's office resigned and with Smith's retirement effective the afternoon of whenever this happened, like when the report was released, Deputy Chief Brett Ibert was promoted to the Chief Criminal Deputy. And then and let's see, Ibert will serve as the interim sheriff until the new sheriff is elected. So now, there are rumors swirling that the Louisiana State Police Colonel Robert Hodges, who has announced his retirement for fall of twenty six, is being speculated as a potential candidate for the upcoming election for Saint Timiny Parish sheriff. So Smith's resignation marks the end of a long law enforcement career. It spanned four decades, and the sheriff's office will now be led by Ibert on an interim basis while the parish prepares for a special election to fill the remainder of that term.

14:30 Yeah, he did. My opinion, he did the right thing. I said from the beginning. I had no problem necessarily with what he did. I feel like perching the guy from behind was a little bit. You know, let's main main if we're going to do it. But that being said, if you're talking about my kids and my wife and things like that, I'm gonna probably buck up to you too. But it's not a. Very manly sheriff in and of itself to talk about a woman like that. After yeah, and you can't be you can't be sheriff and do that. And so he made apparently made that decision, and hey, I don't need to be sheriff anymore. But I'm gonna handle my business. And that's what he did, and he's paying his price for that, and he's standing up like a man and and doing what he needs to do. So I got no problems with that.

15:21 Yeah, it's hard. It's hard to criticize that. I mean, what else can he do. He's done that, he's done the right thing. He got his. Licks in on the dude that would give his wife alone. He felt good. Yeah, and then he's like, you know what I've been doing this forty years. I'll retire and I'll go I'll go drink my drinks at the restaurant and celebrate. So yeah, all right, let's go to our next one. And we got a segment for you, and it's an oldie but goody, and it's called they stole What what you said? What did they steal? Oh shit, I messed that up every time. Oh wait, do it again, do again again? They stole? What? What did they steal? Well, Kelly, they stole ashes, that's right. And New York man is facing multiple fell in charges after allegedly breaking into his former boss's Pennsylvania home, stealing the urn containing her deceased daughter's ashes and then demanding thousands of dollars in ransom for the return. New O Chin, who is thirty of Flushing, New York, was arrested after a bizarre extortion scheme that police say began with a workplace dispute and ended up with them being caught red handed with the stolen remains. Chen had recently been fired from a nail salon and Ben Salem, Pennsylvania owned by the victim.

16:37 He had previously stayed at the woman's home in Willa Grove twice in the past two months and had access to her vehicle. Chim went to the salon da Damning, demanding money he claimed the owner owed him. When she refused, he allegedly became aggressive. He threatened to smash things and push the woman, causing an injury. Ben Salem police responded in order him to leave. Shortly afterward, he allegedly went to the victim's Willa Grove residence. A ravolence video captured him entering the home and leaving shortly after, carrying a dark colored box containing the urn with their daughter's ashes and you can't get lower than that. Chen then contacted the woman and demanded between seven and eight thousand dollars for the return of the ashes. He demanded between seven and eight thousand dollars. I guess, I guess he was negotiating, you know, Mimi in the middle seventy five hundred. What a weird way to do that. He threatened to dump the remains or fleet in New York with them, as she involved police, they agreed to meet at the Nelsalon and when he arrived, police were already there and alarm was triggered off as her saw him leaving with the urn inside a red shopping bag. He was taken into custody and reportedly confessed to stealing the urn, and he is now charged with multiple charges, including burglary. He's currently in custody and pensil Sylvania, and police say his actions appear to have been motivated by the belief that the woman owed him money following his termination.

18:08 So you really can't get lower than that, like dead, dead ass cannot get lower than that. To me, there should be I know you said there was multiple charges. To me, there should be some type of charge and like abuse of human remains or something along those lines, because this was absolutely done out of malice and you know, you don't bargain with people's bodies like that. Yesterday, matter of fact, yesterday I was at the post office and I was waiting on them to find a package they had lost, and I looked on the counter and right there was a box and it was, you know, just sitting there, and it had cremated human remains stickers all over it. Yeah, and I just stared at it because I thought, yeah, because I just thought, wow, like, that's somebody's loved one just sitting on the counter at the post office, and it should be treated with respect. And that's why it was where it was at the post offe.

19:00 You know, they didn't just go like toss it back in the back with the other packages to be delivered. It was especially set aside because we recognize that there's so much value and so much you know, it's a person, that's their body. I don't care that it's cremated. And so for him to go in and he cut this woman where it hurts the most, he did that on purpose. He could have taken other things worth of value in pawned them, but he took her child. Yeah, and I hope that he is fully prosecuted with this one because there's some lines you don't cross, and that that is one of them. I would agree. I hope he does every bit of that time. Yeah, I'm glad they were able to recover her too. So that's that's a good thing, all right. So let's go to Ohio. Columbus, Ohio, and I know that you were big into this case. It's going to be the Mackenzie Shrilla update that we've gotten. So the Ohio Supreme Court has rejected the latest appeal from Mackenzie Sherrilla, the young woman who was convicted of intentionally crashing her car into a building and killing her boyfriend and a close friend back into twenty two. So, in the ruling issued on Tuesday, June twenty third, the state's highest court declined to take up Shrilla's appeal, effectively upholding her conviction and her sentence. Upon consideration of the jurisdictional memoranda filed in this case, the court declines to accept jurisdiction of the appeal.

20:18 So Shrilla, who's now twenty one, is serving fifteen years to life in prison after being convicted of two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and four counts of felonious assault. The judge who sentenced her described her as quote literal hell on wheels end quote. In July twenty twenty two, Shirrilla, who was seventeen at the time, drove her sedan at high speed into a building in Strongsville, Ohio. The crash killed her twenty year old boyfriend, Dominic Russo and their nineteen year old friend, Davian Flanagan. Shrilla was the only survivor, and prosecutors argued that the crash was intentional. Shrilla was convicted following a non jury trial. In her most recent appeal, Shrilla's lawyers argued that she suffers from a pre existing meta condition that may have caused her to black out before the crash. They claimed her previous defense team failed to properly investigate the condition or present expert testimony about it.

21:09 But the Ohio Supreme Court's decision marks another legal defeat for Shrilla. Her earlier request for a new trial was also denied, and that petition was followed one day past the legal deadline, and both the trial judge and the Eighth District Court of Appeals ruled it invalid. Shrilla's case gained national attention and is also the subject of the Netflix documentary titled The Crash. If you want to go check that out. And she's currently housed at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, where she has reportedly taken a job serving food in the prison. She will be eligible for parole in October of twenty thirty seven, and the court's ruling brings an end to Shrilla's most recent attempt to overturn her conviction. That's good. You know, I've always been of the belief that once you appeal to the Supreme Court and they deny that appeal, you've exhausted your appeals. You know, this goes through a court. So you appeal to a circuit court, and then you appeal to another court, a district court, and then you appeal to the Supreme Court. And what's the Supreme Court says, everything's on the up and up, and you don't win that appeal, it should be ever with at that point. So I don't know if she has any appeals left the court system these days.

22:21 You know, I'm not a lawyer. You know, neither of us are lawyers. I mean, you can file whatever paperwork you want to file, but their willingness to listen to it or to even take it up as something they want to hear is really where this comes in. Now, this is the state Supreme Court because it says it's a Ohio Supreme Court, and the facts here are that her so she was bringing up pots right that that was the condition that she suffered from as a teacher. I've seen plenty of usually girls, young teenage girls that have pots, and so they'll kind of like just pass out. They get real weak and they pass out and all of that. But the reason that they're not even considering any of this, and I think they made the point in that documentary is that when you have pots, okay, think about passing out. And I know it's not exactly the same. So don't come after me right now if you have it. But you know, when you lose consciousness or the ability to take care of yourself and you kind of collapse, you're not able to steer a car.

23:19 And the road she drove down was a very windy road before she drove yeah, yeah, So the argument here is asinine. She was able to steer down a windy road, She had complete control of the car when she turned, and I guess I should have said spoiler alert if you haven't seen it yet, Yeah on Netflix. But yeah, this is this is asinine. She absolutely wrecked that car on purpose. I think it was proven beyond a reasonable doubt. And she's right where she needs to be. Yep, give it up, mcancy, Sorry in jail. All right, let's go to Union, South Carolina, and look the last episode that you just heard from Friday, we brought you a story about Arby's where an employee actually transferred the herps to a customer. And today we're going to Wendy's in kJ If we keep this up, we are going to ruin fast food for every one of our listeners, including ourselves. But three employees at Wendy's in South Carolina have been arrested after allegedly tampering with the customer's food by pulling it from the trash and spitting on it.

24:27 This according to police, the incident occurred at a Wendy's location in Union, South Carolina. A customer had complained about her order and requested a refund. Staff told her they would remake the food. The customer was given what she would believe to be a freshly prepared order. However, she later received a call from someone at the restaurant who allegedly admitted employees had taken the original food out of the trash, spit on it, and gave it back to her. After inspecting the food closely, the custom we realized she had been served the same items from her initial order. She contacted the store manager, who reportedly confirmed the employee's actions.

25:09 After speaking with them. The three employees, Leah Sanders who is twenty three, Trinity Rice nineteen, and Shadila Holly no age listed for her. She might have been in juvenile where each charge was tampering with a food item. They were arrested between June sixteenth and June twenty second. That according to Union Public Safety Department, Wendy's issued a statement and calling the incident wholly unacceptable. Yeah, not just unacceptable, holly unacceptable and that's spellable to w. I'll just say Jesus. Not that holy, and confirmed the franchise he who owned the restaurant, had fired all three employees. They said that it was an isolated incident that occurred at a restaurant in South Carolina and that everything was dealt well and the case remains under investigation by local employees. But the thing about this, we just covered a case you can get the herbs from someone spitting on your food. That didn't happen in this case, at least that we know of.

26:12 But bruh, I know you do. Just be nice. Well the first I'll do that. The first thing, well, we don't even know if that customer wasn't nice. But I got a few things here. I picked up on number one. I'm gonna say this, the arguing for higher pay in these restaurants. This is just another, I guess reason why people are like, we ain't gonna we don't. People aren't gonna be paid a ton of money to work here because you get stupid shit like this. Not everybody does this. I'm not saying that, but like this kind of ridiculousness that goes on when you're dealing with someone's food, it's just not cool. But something I picked up on here is the fact that they said an employee called her. Okay, first of all, how the hell you're gonna call somebody that's left a restaurant with the food. I think there was prior beef here, no pun intended. I think there was. I think that there was a pride they had. There was some knowledge of each other here somehow. I don't know how you would call a customer, you know what I'm trying to say, to tell them, hey, we got your food out of the trash. You wouldn't even know. They don't have the capacity to go pull what a credit card and see who the name is and go research them, like what happened here that they were able to call that person? Yeah, I'm curious about that. This might go deeper than just the remaking of the food. You know what I'm saying.

27:26 I could be reading into it. That was interesting to me, right, I agree? Yeah, check your burgers for pickles and spit. Yeah, it's good policy. All right. Now we are going to do some international indiscretions and go all the way to Spain for this one. Yeah. I think you should say that with an accent maybe, and that'd be the intro internationally indiscretions. Yeah. I liked it that way. I like that. What was my accent? I don't know what that sounded like. The guy that was about to say international indiscretion. Okay, so we are going to go to Spain and this is terrifying. So a forty two year old woman is accusing staff at an escape room.

28:09 Let me stop real quick, real quick. Have you ever been to an escape room? I have the one downtown in batter room. Yes, met me either. We made it further, they said, than most people in that time. But what was really cool about it was things that we would have never found. My small children found. So it was actually really cool because things that adults would have overlooked. The kids just being nosy kids, like digging in like sand or something like that. That's what helped us break some of the some of the code. So I thought that was kind of neat. But this one's a little bit different. Okay. So she's in an escape room in southern southern Spain where she is saying that she was tied up and then the employees doused her with gasoline during the game, causing her to catch fire and she suffered severe burns to nearly forty percent of her body.

28:59 Yeah, and I've never been to that kind of escape I don't want. To leave me alone. I'll stay in the room if you were like yeah, okay. So, according to prosecutors, the incident occurred at Villa and Paro, an escape room located in the village of Kajar near Granada, and the woman had visited the attraction with five friends when the events took place. So prosecutors alleged that as part of the escape room challenge, the woman was tied up. An employee then sprayed her with a liquid that was supposed to be water mixed with a small amount of gasoline. Instead, authorities claim the liquid was pure gasoline. When another staff member allegedly held a lighter to her body, the gasoline ignited, setting the woman on fire. The woman suffered serious burns and required extensive medical treatment. She has since filed a complaint against the escape room, claiming the incident was the result of negligence and improper safety procedures during the game.

29:52 In a recent development, prosecutors are seeking prison sentences of between two and three years for the owner of the facility and at least one employee. Reports indicate that three people connected to the escape room or facing charges in connection with the case. The woman is also pursuing civil damages, with her legal team reportedly seeking nearly two million euros in compensation for her injuries and suffering. Escape room operators in Spain and across Europe have faced increased scrutiny over safety standards in recent years, particularly following deadly incidents involving fire in other countries. What is happening in these escape rooms? I don't know. The case has raised fresh questions about the use of flammable materials and open flames and recreational escape room experiences you think. Authorities have not yet released the names of the individuals facing charges. The case is expected to proceed to trial in the coming months. The woman has described the experience as traumatic, stating that what was supposed to be fun with her friends turned into a nightmare when she was set on fire inside of the escape room.

30:56 Yeah, when you think of injuries that you would never want to go through for me, burning being set on fire is absolutely at the top of the list. That's got to be horrible. It certainly is. And yeah, what's going on in the escape rooms in these other countries? I have no idea, but I ain't never heard of that. In the United States, they make them very realistic apparently there. I mean, even if they would have watered down you said something about they thought that it was watered down gasoline, it's still freaking gasoline. Man. I know it's wild, and so let's think this through. You know, think about like surgery or something. And obviously I've never done a surgery on someone, but you know, there's checks and balances there to make sure you don't leave tools behind in people. And there's checks and balances whenever you're doing medications and things like that. Because of the nature, you want multiple eyes to be put on things.

31:48 You're mixing gas and water, you don't think that there should be multiple checks between that to make sure that it's been you know, weighted or whatever properly. I mean, what the hell I. Did surgery on them for all? Going in middle school, sort of scalpel when I cut it. Open, that is dissection. Did you ever do that? Yes? And my teacher stood up, she was a biology. Did you expect the frog to be that big. Smell and they had the veins were different colors? Yes, yeah, But our teacher was a biology teacher and she would stand up there because we were talking about genetics before this, and she'd say, guys, today we're going to drop our genes and multiply genes G E, N, E S.

32:32 And I'm like, that's actually pretty good. Yeah, But I never forgot it. Yeah, well, uh, she recovers, she's gonna recover. She's burned and damn like you know what I'm saying, talk about being afraid to do anything after that. We need to lighten it up. So we're going to lighten it up, and we're going to go to lustful law Burkers. A Michigan woman is facing felony charges after authority say she attempted to smuggle a full bottle of wine into jail by concealing it in her vagina. According to police, forty eight year old Monique Macheke was arrested at a CBS pharmacy this is in Grand Triverse after being caught trespassing. She had previously been banned from that store.

33:38 Investigator says she went into the store stole a bottle of cupcake Vineyards wine. You ever heard that? Yes, I've also tasted that. And I didn't love it enough to get it again. Right or put it where she did right? She drank it inside the store's bathroom. She then was later hospitalized for a severe intoxication, probably like funneled it. The very next day, she returned to the same CBS and she was arrested again for trespassing. What officers didn't know at the time was that she had stolen another bottle of the same wine and hidden it hidden it on her person. During the arrest, she reportedly struggled to get in the back of the patrol car. She told officers she couldn't move properly. I bet she couldn't. It wasn't until she was being booked into the count of jail that the full story came out. A female Correction's deputy conducting a final search, discovered an unopened bottle of Cupcake.

34:36 Vineyards sat again, an unopened what bottle? Bottle of Cupcake Vineyards Pino. It was concealed inside her vagina. The deputy ordered her to remove it. In other words, the deputy wasn't gonna remove it, and the bottle was later destroyed due to biohazard concerns. One hundred percent Man. She's been charged with attempting to smuggle contraband into a penal facility, which is a felony, along with misdemeanor trespassing. Says she had a trespassing charge, and she just added a freaking felony to that. Well, ware to go. You can't put the vaginal items in the penal institution jim Right.

35:17 Her criminal history does include prior felony convictions for unarmed robbery and credit card theft, and according to her LinkedIn profile, she had worked at as an associate counselor at a substance abuse treatment center. She's currently being held on a six thousand dollars bond. And I mean, in the world of bizarre smuggling incidents, this one definitely stands out even by lustful lawbreaker standards. So there you have it. That's lustful lawbreakers for this week. I looked up the bottle to make sure I wasn't missing something, okay, because I was thinking maybe they mean it's like one of the little travel bottles. You know, this is a whole ass freaking bottle. This is a wine bottle. Where did it go? They need to check her organs. She may have perforated her lungs. At this point, I don't understand where the hell that went.

36:13 Like throwing a hot dog in a hallway. Dawn, Yeah, damn girl, And so now it's public. So anyway, hey, in true form here though, if she was a substance abuse counselor, you know what that tells me A lot of people that suffer from substance abuse, whatever that is, really will gravitate towards people who have made it through, have been through it themselves and seen it on the other side. And so what's probably happened here is that she had gotten sober at some point. She was acting as a substance abuse counselor to help other people say you can do it. But we're all human, we're all you know, we all fall we all make mistakes. And it sounds like she fell off the wagon again very hard.

36:54 And I don't want to make light of that, because addiction is difficult, and whether it's alcohol or it's drugs or whatever it is, that's it's it's a hard it's a hard thing to to overcome. And now this embarrassment added to that, I'm sure is not gonna help. And so I do hope that she can get back, get her life back together, and I hope that this goes away for her sake. I hope that this doesn't you know, I'm trying to say, I hope it just kind of the story. I hope the story goes away, people forget about it, and that she gets her life back on track. And I mean that with all sincerity. Right, I do quit shoving wine bottles. Up your crotch, keep the wine out of your prison purse. And I mean that with all sincerity as well.

37:34 Right, I would be more likely to smuggle like face cream because my face gets dry, not wine. So all right, let's go to Saint Augustine, Florida. And this is going to be our foolish felons. You better say it now, you'd always say it. I wanted you to do it. Yes, I got it. Okay. So we talk a lot about pickleball for some reason on this Frickin' show. But during a postgame dispute between pickleball players, a Florida woman repeatedly struck a male victim in the head with her paddle, leaving him bloodied and with an injury to his face. According to investigators, who have charged the alleged assailant with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, it's like a ping pong paddle, Jim, It's now a deadly weapon. So the incident occurred at pickleball courts in Saint Augustine, a city about forty miles from Jacksonville, and has resulted in a felony charged against Michelle Banister, a forty seven year old nurse. According to reports, during one doubles game, a dispute arose between players about the retrieval of a ball. Upon completion of the match, Ron Bannott, fifty years old, went to speak with the defendant son regarding critique of his playing style. Bannot a regular as a devoted pickleball player and a member of the Facebook Saint Augustine Pickleball group. Police say that during the course of the beef between Banat and her son, Banister interjected herself.

38:56 I don't know why, says interjected. Wouldn't it be that she inter rejected. Or she no interjected to the proper term. I would have thought it'd be inserted in himself. No, that's the same thing. When you interject yourself, you involve yourself. So did she interject that wine in her huha in the previous I don't know, Okay, Well, she interjected herself into the argument and then struck the victim in the head several times with a pickleball paddle, leaving injury to his face that caused several cuts in a large amount of blood. When the cops responded to the pickleball courts, Banister allegedly provided them with a fake name, Ayana Lay. Ayana Lay. Banister as a licensed nurse practitioner who lives two miles from the pickleball court, and when questioned by police, Banister claimed she was defending her son. However, officers reported there did not appear to be, based on victim and witness statements, to be an imminent threat to life, limb or a propensity of violence about to occur. Banister has a master's degree from the University of Alabama, and prior to her nursing career, she served in the Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic, and online bio describes her as an active mom who participates in many sports and activities with her children, and lists her favorite pursuits as traveling, hiking, and playing beach, volleyball, and pickleball. After being arrested earlier this month, Banister was charged with aggravated battery and providing the police with a false name.

40:15 Yeah, and pickle ball gone wild man. And we said at the beginning of this one, I've never played pickleball, but I know some people that do, and they're competitive as hell. In it, and apparently she is as well. But you know, the guy was basically messing with her son. What do you think your mom? All Right, So a couple of things here really bothered me. But I think that I figured out what it all boils down to. And Okay, we can say she's a nurse practitioner. She has plenty of training. She knows better than this as far as what's going to happen when she smokes that guy in the head. Mama bear Oka, she got mad and she decided to defend her son. Lost her cool. Okay, but then you're a marine, you know, and I feel like you've probably got enough training and you're smart. You were a machae, a helicopter mechanic, right, and so I'm like, well, why is this bothering me so much? But I think it's the last part. She gave a fake name to the police, and that's devious.

41:11 I can you know, I can get behind you getting pissed off and wanting to defend your son. I'm all about a little you know, is a mama and wanting to stand up for your kid. But then you're lying to the cops like there's something about that that I just don't like. I just don't like the fake name she chose. That was kind of strained. Stupid fake name. Yeah, but what is this? It just makes a It makes me wonder, like you'll give a fake name to the police, but you're supposed to be a medical professional. Like that's Well, the problem is she gets arrested, then she can get she can lose her. License over that, bro gonna go before the bo that's a lot of. School and to lose your license. Yeah, and she can absolutely, she gets convicted of that, she can lease her license.

41:52 So she gave the fake name so she can maybe scoot out of there. That's exactly That's exactly what it was. But I expected more from her. I can tell you that everybody has their limit. They do, and I'm no better. Maybe with her kids. Yeah, she just lost it, man, And I'm not saying it's right, But I'm not saying I don't understand it either me either. Look, you and me both are power parents when it comes to back in the parking. Right, All right, let's go to Florida. And this could have also been another segment involving you know, kinky crime so to speak. And this is a Florida man who is facing theft charges after running up a six hundred and fifty dollars tab or were lap dances at a clear Water strip club and them refusing to pay. And first of all, who knew that you could run tabs for lap dance? That's been many, many, many years since I've been in a strip.

42:49 Is a lap dance? You think, well, we'll get to that, because it's good, I'm gonna take you that, okay. But I was shocked because they didn't have tabs back in my day. I was thinking you had to give them money right here. Hell yeah, it is like you don't want up a time hand it to them at that time. What's his money upfront? Yeah? Well, according to police, forty six year old Roberto Malendona visited Rain's Gentlemen's Club and over the course of that visit, he received fifteen private dances from one of the performers. Each of those dances cost forty dollars, and there was an additional fifty dollars reviewfee, bringing his bill to a total of six hundred and fifty dollars reviewfee.

43:34 That's almost like a search horse, I guess. But when it came time to settle up, Malendado had allegedly come up with some other ideas. Police they initially offered the dancer just fifty dollars for the entire night of entertainment, and when that offer was rejected, he just said, I'm not paying at all. Officers got called to the club. When they arrived, they found the individual who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. You're in a strip club, you're probably drinking, at least according to the arrest report, he was speaking incoherently and speaking in circles. When questioned about the unpaid bill. Officers explained to him the payment was required for the services he had requested and received and that I mean that seems kind of weird to me. He allegedly made no effort to pay the outstanding balance, and he was arrested on misdemeanor theft and booked into the Penelas count of jail. He spent the night in custody before being released the following day on his own recognants. The judge since ordered him to stay away from Rain Gentlemen Club and all other bars and clubs. He's also been prohibited from consuming alcohol or illegal drugs and must submit to any alcohol or drug testing required by the court or law enforcement. Now, while the charge is listed as simple theft, local media and police reports have jokingly referred to the incident as laplifting, a combination of dancing and shoplifting, and Malandado's next court date has not yet been scheduled.

45:07 You know when people pass a bad check, how they used to put like their picture up at the stars. I wonder if they're going to put the laplifting you'll have laplifter faces. Yeah, don't dance for this man. Get the money up front, ladies. Yeah, well, you know that's your chosen profession. Get that, buddy. Let me tell you something though. We were in Las Vegas for our friend that was getting married a long time ago, and so all the guys, you know, they went to we went to the girls went to the thunder down Under and all the guys went to a strip club. Well next, oh my god, and I got pulled up on stage and got danced on. It was wild. But anyway, it's a whole nother story. But next thing, you know, our phones all start blowing up. The girls and it's all the guys saying, hey, we might need y'all, We might need y'all. So we're like, what is going on?

45:51 So we jump in the car and you go, you know, skirting down there. All of them come out rip, roar and mad because they ran a freaking scam on them. Tried to say they owed like six grand before they could leave the club. The girls separated, all of the dancers, separated all of our guys right to do their their lap dances and all that, and then they kept telling each guy that another guy said he was going to pay for a dance for them, but they all weren't communicating with each other. And then at the end of the night, they're like, y'all, oh all these thousands, No he bought that, And they're like, I didn't say that. I didn't do that anyway, And so they ended up getting in a huge fight and getting kicked out, and they were like, good, we didn't do anything, so just stay at a strip clubs. Yeah, there seems to be a lot of confusion.

46:37 Tom foolery going on. That's right. Well, that's it for today, Kelly. Any final thoughts. Yeah, do you want me to do my last story? Yeah? You have one more story. I'm sorry that's okay, let's go to Colorado because this is kind of a big one. I don't want to miss out here. Yeah, we definitely don't. I didn't realize that's okay, you're allowed to make I was so excited for the lap dance story. Totally forgot this is a safe space. You can mess up. All right. We are in Golden, Colorado. A fifty five year old Arvada mom has been charged with second degree murder in the March twenty, twenty sixth death of her sixteen year old daughter, who succumbed to complications from prolonged heavy alcohol consumption that investigators say the mother enabled, encouraged, and participated in four months. Gretchen Leanne Ryan faces one count of murder in the second degree knowingly causing the death under Colorado law. She was arrested at the family home and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a half million dollar cash bond now.

47:35 On March the ninth, Arvada Police and Arvada Fire responded to the report of an unresponsive juvenile female at the residence. Grace Ryan was pronounced dead at the scene. And don't forget this is a sixteen year old girl, what I'm about to tell you. A month's long investigation by police detectives, including forensics analysis of cell phones and an iPad belonging to Ryan and her daughter, revealed extensive evidence that the mother supplied alcohol to the teen, arranged regular deliveries to the home, and drank with her daughter often daily, along with marijuana use. Communications showed the pair discussed alcohol consumption and procurement nearly every single day Beginning around September of twenty twenty five. Ryan allegedly took steps to conceal the activity from Grace's father, who primarily lived in the basement of the home. Physical evidence recovered during a search of Grace's bedroom included one hundred and seventy three empty alcohol bottles, various brands and sizes of vodka, and other hard liquor, all hidden under the bed and in the closet. In the months leading up to her death, Grace Ryan suffered severe physical deterioration from chronic alcohol use. Text messages documented episodes of vomiting blood at least weekly in some accounts, difficulty eating, trouble walking, in continence jimm It's so bad she had to wear diapers she is sixteen, as well as other symptoms. The teen repeatedly expressed fear that she was going to die and was begging her mother for help.

49:06 One message from Grace read quote, I'm in so much pain. I can't keep doing this. Do something. Another stated, if you're going to do this to me, you need to talk to me. You need to take me to a hospital, and then she added I'm going to die. On the night of March eighth, Grace continued messaging her mother about feeling sick. Her last outgoing communication was sent at ten oh seven pm from her iPad, which was located near her body in the bathroom. Subsequent messages from Ryan went unanswered, so emergency services were not called though until about eight fifteen the next morning, so a delay of roughly ten hours between her needing asking for help and being found. Ryan reportedly heard Grace fall in the bathroom that night and checked on her before going to bed. And autopsy performed by the forensic pathologist was released on April fourth and determined the cause of death was aspiration pneumonia related to chronic alcohol use. The manner of death was classified as natural due to the volitional component of the alcohol consumption.

50:05 The report noted that Grace had an abnormally fatty liver for her age, consistent with extensive and prolonged heavy drinking. Chronic alcohol use can suppress your gag and your cough reflexes, which impairs your immune function and increases your aspiration risk. Grace has been unenrolled or had been unenrolled from public high school around April of twenty twenty five and placed in online school, and by the time of her death, she had completed only one online semester of ninth grade and had not participated in outside activities for several months. According to the arrest affidavit, Ryan described herself as an alcoholic and told investigator she felt like she had killed her daughter, repeatedly stating I feel like I killed her.

50:47 In a January message to Grace, Ryan allegedly wrote, I'm committing child abuse and murder. She attempted or she admitted, trying to be the cool mom, and acknowledged that the situation had gone too far. Both mom and daughter report consumed roughly a bottle of vodka per day at times. The first Judicial District Attorney's office filed the second degree murder charge. And Ryan has minimal prior criminal history in Colorado, but she does have a nineteen ninety three DUI citation noted from back when she was twenty two. Yeah. Uh, you can't get more disgusting or horrible than that, Kelly. I don't even know what to say that the mother should have been arrested. I'm glad she was charged, and I hope, you know, I hope she gets the book.

51:36 Darner, you know what this is. Let me tell you what this is. This is a dysfunctional family where the dad is always down in the basement, and then you've got an alcoholic mother who does what drug addicts do and they need someone to enable and to use with. And what she did was unenroll her daughter from high school so that she could be with her and be her using buddy. That is what just happened as far as what I am read, again, this is my opinion, but that's what I see here. And then for you to say I feel like I killed her, bitch, you did.

52:16 You killed your child. You were having deliveries of alcohol. You had a child laying on the floor saying I'm throwing up blood. I can't do this. She's wearing diapers, and you were so wrapped up in your own whatever that you failed to get her help for a year. She drank herself to death within a year. Yeah, this this angers me. And this also shows that there is a lapse going on in Colorado because to unenroll the child within the child, make no progression in school should tell you at some point, you know, there needs to be someone checking.

52:57 In or write some sort of oversight. You know, this kid was failed by her father, she was failed by her mother, and then she was failed by lack of anybody. I guess checking in on this kid? How isolated must she have felt? Yeah? I don't know, what do you do? She's a kid sick? Makes me mad? All right? Any final thoughts? Yeah, I do have some final thoughts. Please check out our overtime. 53:48 Yeah, and what we're doing this week is up until July fourth, we are releasing me every time with the regular episodes, so everybody can get kind of a preview of that. So with that, Kelly, let's go into overtime. Let's go.

54:39 All right, we are in overtime, and we're going to start off with an utterly unrelated segment. Of course, those are segments that are not necessarily crime related, but very interesting and maybe teeter on that crime spectrum we have. I was gonna say, we had a guy even reach out that said, what is this? What did that article have to do with the show. So that's why you need to make sure you're listening to the description, the. Full description there. So we're gonna go to Mauriceville, Texas, and I'm gonna tell you about an eighteen wheeler that was roughly well was hauling roughly fifty thousand pounds of honey bees hives at that it overturned near Mauriceville in Orange County, Texas, and it released an estimated two million bees.

55:26 Forced a large scale response from emergency crews and beekeepers of course to crash you card. Around nine pm or nine am raither when the driver of the tractor trailer failed to complete a turn near and I found this very interesting country colony subdivision. So the bee colony released in a colony and the truck rolled then into a ditch, of course, spilling its cargo and unleashing a massive swarm of bees across a roadway in surrounding areas. Now no serious injuries were reported. The truck driver was unharmed, and one local news photographer was stung one time while covering the scene. The Orange County Sheriff's Office quickly responded and firefighters went door to door warning residents in the area to stay inside. Local beekeepers from Queen Bee Supply LLC in more honey form that's a pretty good one, along with other commercial and backyard beekeepers, arrived to help contain the swarm. Cruise work to transfer the remaining hives onto other trucks for relocating to the honey form. Christy Ray of Queen Bee Supplies. She shared photos from the scene showing beekeepers in full protective gear loading the hives amid the chaos. And in a statement, she said that it's not something you want to see, but it's so nice to see beekeepers helping beekeepers. Grateful everyone came out and helped. Now.

56:54 By the next day, the crew had unloaded approximately seventy five percent of the trailer, and recovery efforts continued as bees sought to recluster around their queens. Similar events have taken place in recent years in Washington State, Tennessee, and even earlier this year in San Antonio, and it kind of highlighted the fact that there's some growing challenges with transporting millions of bees across highways. You take chances of this stuff happening, obviously, and as of this recording, the most immediate threat has been mitigated, although officials urged caution near the work zone until all hives are secured.

57:36 But it looks like he was making a wide turn in the ass end of the truck, fell in the ditch and that's why you flipped. Could be Yeah, that's scary. These hurt. Man. I got hit right here in the joint in my elbow one time and it swung my arm up. Felt like I'd been shot right damn all right. Safety first, with the bees. All right, let's go to Stafford County, Virginia. Okay, this one goes off the deep end. This You know how they say reality is stranger than fiction. This is going to be one of them, all right, all right, So what began as a report of reckless driving quickly escalated into a disturbing discovery when the deputies uncovered what authorities described as a detailed plot to murder an entire family. So, on June sixteenth, the Sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a vehicle that had struck a speed limit sign and then fled the scene. So deputies later located the car at a convenience store in the area, and inside they found two teenagers. So they're thinking, all right, some knuckleheads here, a nineteen year old named Lewis Connolly and a seventeen year old juvenile that was not named. But according to the Sheriff's office, a search of the car revealed several concerning items. Deputies recovered and a bunch of open and unopened alcohol beverages, which the teens allegedly admitted that they had just stolen from a convenience store. They also found a tray of food from Buffalo Wild Wings that the pair had allegedly stolen from the rest. More alarming, though, was that a notebook was discovered inside of the vehicle, and authority said that the notebook contained two detailed murder

59:08 plots targeting the juvenile's families. So the plans reportedly outlined different methods of carrying out the killings, and there was debates in there of whether they were going to use guns or knives, as well as the steps the teens allegedly intended to take afterwards. So deputies found multiple knives in the car, and they also found what they just described as possession of drugs. They didn't specify what kind. Both teens were taken into custody. Lewis Connolly and the juvenile have each been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. The seventeen year old faces an additional charge of felony threats. In writing, the sheriff's officials said the investigation revealed that the teens had developed multiple scenarios for carrying out the alleged attacks on the juvenile's family members.

59:52 The discovery of the notebook came after what just had started as this routine, reckless driving response. So the case has drawn huge attention due to the bizarre combination of circumstances. The teens are caught with stolen food and then they're in possession of a notebook laying out a family massacre plan. Both suspects remain in custody as this investigation continues, and authorities have not released additional details about the teen's relationship or what may have motivated this alleged plot. Yeah, shout out to the police for actually digging a little bit deeper. I mean, it could have just been a standard stop and they really didn't even dig deep enough to discover anything like that notebook. And there's no telling what would have happened. This was pretty serious, pretty detailed notebook from what I understand, and they were able to thwart that before it occurred, thank god. But you just never know what one investigation into a very small misdemeanor crime can turn into, you know, in this case, murder.

1:00:52 Yeah. All right, let's go into another segment, elderly outlaws, and I'm going to tell you about an eighty four year old Milton woman who was a rested after firing a gunshot as an apparent warning to her neighbor cutting the grass. This according to an arrest report, Charlene Davis is charged with aggravated assault with the deadly weapon, which is a felony, and discharging a firearm on residential property that's a misdemeanor. This incident happened last Thursday around eight fifteen pm in Milton, Florida. According to the report, the neighbor told deputies he met his lawn, he heard a gunshot. He looked over he saw Davis holding a revolver, and the report states that Davis did admit to firing. As Smith and Wesson thirty eight special into the ground quote, Davis stated she wanted to scare the neighbor due to the ongoing no nooice issue with them, and she was trying to sleep, so this dude was cutting the grass shaw. The incident was captured on ring doorbell cameras, with videos showing Davis exiting that home and firing a shot, and the report states the neighbor has heard at asking what are you doing.

1:02:01 Davis then replies I'm trying to tell you you're waking us up, before adding you better watch out and firing the shot. Davis was released from Santa Rosa County Jail last Friday on a five five hundred dollars bond. But it goes to show you don't make your grass at eight fifteen if you live around this elderly outlaw. So she's ridiculous, and you know eight fifteen there are time restraints, actually believe or not, so like you shouldn't be cutting your grass at four. Aen, you gotta admit this is funny. It's funny, but like it's hilarious. Why are you firing a damn gun? Send a text, knock on the door, yell at somebody, do some good old fashioned yelling.

1:02:43 Letting him know. She let him know when they released her. Eighty two years old. Man, we're trying to eighty five here, yeah, great, eighty four. She look she's old, and she's letting him know. I'm going to bed at eight fifteen? Is the sun even day? Don't he's cutting grass in the dark. I'm sure, I mean it's like here, yeah, it's still up at eight to fifteen. Wow. All right, so A we're gonna go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where a detective allegedly drew his weapon and pointed it at an odor producing officer, according to an arrest warrant, But Jim, it wasn't the officer that smelled mad.

1:03:24 It was the officer's lunch that had him out of control. Investigators say that Michael DiBiase, forty six years old, was at police headquarters and Myrtle Beach this past Saturday when he got into a dispute with a patrolman whose name was redacted from the warrant. So Debiasi allegedly confronted the patrolman about warming up fish in the microwave, causing an unpleasant odor in the office. During the confrontation, Detective Debase drew and pointed his department issued handgun at the other officer. Holy shit, Like, if you're a cop right now, you're like, what in the hell how did you even get on the force? All right, So he was arrested yesterday for pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, which is a felony. He was booked into the Hory County Jail, from which he was later released on five thousand dollars bond.

1:04:13 Court records, unfortunately, do not indicate what type of fish was being microwaved, which in and of itself could be considered criminal behavior right. He was placed on administrative leave following the incident. The subsequent internal investigation identified several policy violations that resulted in his termination. According to the police department statement. Yeah, and you just couldn't help but laugh at Hory Cannon Yale, Hory Man, you are. A child, an absolute child, you know, like, holy crap, you pointed a gun at somebody because they microwaved fish. Tell me about your bad decision making. I would hate to microw I love it. I love fish microwaved well, I mean, if I'm reheating it, it ain't the same because because I'm financially conscious and I bring leftovers because I'm a poor caw mell up.

1:05:04 The whole breaker room. You're gonna get the smith and wesson too. There's a difference. Eighty four year old woman would have done it. There's a difference between tuna and salmon. Get mad over tuna. Anyway. I stand with DBAs on that one. Don't microwave fish. I wonder if he's related to Ted DEBIASI million million dollar man. I doubt everybody has a price. That's what he used to say. And his price was he's willing to pay the price for pulling a gun on someone over their dawn launch. Shit. All right, that's it for Overtime today. Thank you everyone for listening. Check out all the things Kelly told you to check out earlier.
