0:15 All right, everyone, welcome back to Crime Wire Weekly. A little look at the topics we're going to be covering today, and the top news story all over the country today is the FBI thwarting a planned attack at UFC Freedom to fifty. Pretty Much everyone in the country and around the world watch this event. Thank god, nothing happened. It was in the back of my mind that something possibly could happen, But the FBI did what they do and. There's no doubt they saved lives on that one. There's absolutely no doubt. Tons of lives. We're going to talk about it. In Texas, a Midland Texas mass shooting is dominating the news. One dead, ten injured. We're going to tell you about that. In South Carolina, a Planet Fitness trainer missing since I believe it was last Friday after leaving work in South Carolina's Planet Fitness. There's some weird circumstances we're going to be talking about today on that. And Georgia, a federal judge has apologized after sex in her chambers is exposed several times.

1:23 She ought to know better. I'm sure she did. And Wisconsin, Lustful law Breakers is coming your way and we're going to tell you all about the Pinti Burgler Foolish Felons is also coming your way today. Six have been arrested in a bizarre abduction at a Florida Margueriteville resort. Okay, if there's anywhere that abduction should not happen, it's at Margaritaville. We should be relaxing. We should be relaxing there. Yeah, well it happened in this case. And some foolish felons that Kelly's going to be telling you about the next have won a title for the first time in fifty three years, and that win sparked some unexpected fan backlash.

2:07 So we're going to convey in contrast around the country how people celebrate when you win. You're not gonna believe this story. If I had this segment actually all the time, I would call it perfect timing pu r rfect because an Amazon driver, that'd be a great sound effect for that. An Amazon driver finds a missing cat while delivering his missing cat. Mind you, while delivering a package? How about brain freeze behind bars? And the Alabama ice cream shop owner and her husband are arrested after taking a negative review way too far. Look, I need to insert dad slash mom joke here because that's not cool.

2:51 Yeah, cool, I do get it now. This one, I don't know if y'all seen the video. This is like a fourteen minute video that the guy videoed as this woman was confronting him, and it is the most backwoods thing you had ever seen in your life. That's the only way. That's coming from South Louisiana. Yeah, we're going to talk about it international indiscretions today. We're going to the UK, where social media has been banned for anyone sixteen and under. We're going to talk about it, debate it, see if it's a good idea, bad idea, whatever. And of course we'll have overtime today. So a lot of stories come in your way. Yeah, a lot of big ones too that I don't know.

3:33 Sometimes it feels like just I know we're going to jump into the to the UFC fight. But sometimes it feels like anytime we have a big event that you kind of sit on the on your the heels, you know, watching it, thinking, God, I hope nothing happens. And I think that's sad. I felt that way. Yeah it is. It is sad, but it's you know, if people are going to do something horrendous like that. They want to do it in as big as spotlight as possible, and and so we're going to jump into that first story. The FBI disrupted what Director Cash Patel called planned attacks targeting high profile UFC cage fighting event on the south lawn of the White House this past week and multiple individuals are now in custody after a multi state operation. Now, the director said or announced this Tuesday morning, and he stated agents and partners learned of the potential threat on June tenth, which was four days before the June fourteenth UFC Freedom two fifty event that took place in DC. On June tenth, FBI and our law enforcement partners became aware of a potential threat to UFC America two fifty event. And I don't know why he called it in America too. That's not what it's called.

4:50 It's UFC Freedom too fifty event, Cash Battel. This was in Washington, involving individuals outside of the National Capital region. And thanks to the rapid app action of this FBI our partners in the Department of Justice, multiple individuals are now in custody and the planned attacks were stopped cold We are built to detect, respond to, and bring justice to those who threaten the lives of American citizens, particularly during large gatherings like the UFC two fifty fight. That's exactly what we did here now. Law enforcement said. The plot involved explosive laden drones intended to spot to strike nearby buildings and create panic, potentially hurting the crowds toward a sniper team. A second wave of attackers was reportedly planned to storm the White House gate. Five people had been arrested in connection with the investigation. The UFC event drew more than two hundred and twenty thousand spectators, including approximately twelve hundred service menders who were invited to sit right next to the cage as part of celebrations marking the two hundred and fifteenth anniversary of the of the Declaration of Independence and Flag Day. It also coincided with President Trump's eightieth birthday. The fight proceeded without incident and no one was harmed. So the ringleader, if you will, who planned this attack was a Central Ohio man. His name was Tyson Proper. He is nineteen years old. And

6:20 here's what I was able to discover regarding his involvement Now. According to the federal complaint, the nineteen year old was arrested in charge with conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States, attempted murder of an employee of the United States, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime or violence, and receipt or transfer of a firearm to commit a felony. On June tenth and nine, eighteen PM, officers with the Knox County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an address in reference to a disturbance. The caller was actually Proper's mother, who was concerned that due to his recent cost and what she noted was firearm purchases and communicating with certain individuals online. He lives with his parents, and Proper have recently met several people online and these were random people and have been planning recons is what he called it, with these individuals. Now. In an interview with Proper, he admitted to planning with others a coordinated attack against the United States. During that event, and according to Proper, some members of the group who would participate in the attack began communicating with one another in or around March of twenty twenty six via tik Tok group called quote Vanguard of the Old. The members of the group stated they wanted to protect the United States, which they believe was headed in the wrong directions. Member of

7:51 the members of the group believed the United States needed to be torn down so that it can be rebuilt. Some expressed a desire that people who were involved with jeopary Epstein should not govern the country. Members shared information with each other on a TikTok on the TikTok group to show their trustworthiness and commitment to the costs, such as id documents and videos of their abilities and workouts. The group was broken into three tiers. Tier one having to meet physical fitness standards and acquire equipment such as body armor and firearms. Proper admitted to being one of those team leaders and if you've seen his lineup photos, he doesn't look very physically fit to me both whatever.

8:38 Proper described the general plan the general plan for the attack, saying all members would leave their homes on Friday or Saturday, that's June twelfth or thirteenth to meet up in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Proper himself was planning to drive taking his weapons and body armor, including an AR fifteen, all his ammunition, tactical us and ballistic plates. He planned to take extra body armor for other members of the group. According to Proper, the plan as he knew it was to stage a demonstration on the north side of the White House. While the demonstration was taking place, the group would fly small unmanned drones laden with unspecified explosive devices which would detonate over the north side of the UFC area. When the unmanned aircraft detonated, the intent was to force the crowd attending the event and high value targets to evacuate to the south. Proper states the plan was for members of the group to act as snipers and additional shooters, preferably with long guns, staged at or near the southern evacuation point, to conduct shootings of the members of the crowd and high value targets as they fled from the explosive devices which have been detonated. The high value targets included both wealthy people and politic titians. According to Proper, this attack was designed to jumpstart a revolution in the United States.

10:06 Now kJ as you know, almost immediately after these types of arrest or made search warrants are sought for phones, etc. Of those that are arrested and that took place here. Officers got his iPhone and observed chats of signal groups that laid out detailed plans to conduct an attack in Washington, d C. With several unidentified confederates quote unquote. In the chat, detailed imagery of the national Capital region and maps of the area were shared to the group of which Proper was a member, highlighting sniper locations, potential launch locations, and other tactical planning. Now, law enforcement interviewed Proper's father, and his father said his son had been planning to leave this upcoming weekend, which was the thirteenth, to meet up with those people. The father said the son had acquired camping gear, ballistic plates, a shotgun, a rifle, and lots of ammunition, extra magazine, and play carriers. He's currently in the Franklin County jail and has a detention hearing set for tomorrow. From this recording, his father said his son spent about three thousand dollars of his graduation money to purchase the items, and the father said his son quit his job recently in preparation to meet the individuals that he had been interacting with online. Knox County investigators, of course, would take photos of all of this, and there are like thousands of rounds of ammunition that you can see online,

11:40 just pictures of all these rifles, etc. Now law enforcement when they interviewed Propper's mother, she said that he had been interacting with a group online that was comprised of individuals who claim to be ex military and Christian based. She didn't know the name of the group, but they expressed anti government sentiments, specifically grievances about corruption, the handling of the Epstein files, data centers, taking up all the water in communities, and other government actions. The mother also set her so recently engaged in physical training, which she initially thought was to further his aspirations to join the military or police, but later learned it was related to this online group. She observed her son researching and mapping locations in the area just northwest of Washington, and saw images and maps being sent from her son to unknown people through text and discord chats in the Signal app, primarily a large chat consisting of nineteen people, then smaller chats consisting of about four or five people. The smaller group chats were based on role assignments and locations, such as shooters at one location, chats about exit, playing, escapes, evasion resources for the attack, and even included a possible safe house. Some planes indicated that members of the group would travel from the area to the White House on the Potomac River and travel along the river to escape the area. Then, after this was all announced, two Southern

13:13 California men were arrested, Brian Roa, who is twenty four, and Michael Thomas, who was thirty two. They were arrested on Saturday, which is the day prior to the actual event. The FBI searched both of the homes and recover multiple firearms and large quantities of ammunition, basically the same thing they were covered from the first suspect, and the complaint said Thomas was planning the attack but wasn't going to take part. The FBI has now said the alleged terror plot involved at least nineteen people. No information is of this recording regarding the other two people arrested, but so far five have been caught of those nineteen.

13:57 Yeah, all right, so let's you know, I've almost taken a whole page of notes here. While you were talking because you know, you were able to update some more stuff since the news broke. But first of all, this whole entire thing is giving Columbine, okay, the starter revolution, the we need to you know, tear down and rebuild and all of that. And the reason I say it's given Columbine is because though even those shooters had this same kind of thought process, this grandiose ideology of themselves, that they could even pull something like this off. And the the first of all, kudos to the mother in this, And I really want to make a point to say that because as heartbreaking as this must have been for her, she knew in her gut that her child was going to do something or potentially do something that was unhinged.

14:48 And to be the one to speak up, I think is is massive. But kind of like when you were reading and I kind of started laughing, it's because I actually took a note that said, I wonder where they met. It must have been Discord, And I wrote that because Discord is no I mean, there's a lot of things that go on there, but it's known to be an echo chamber of people that get in these ideas that while it sounds crazy, when you're in an echo chamber and people are egging you on and saying, oh, yeah, we could do this, we could do that, and then you start believing it. It's dangerous to have all of those ideologies in place. They're absolutely domestic terrorists, but their their concept of funneling runners towards the shooters is the same concept that people, you know, school shooters use too, Like they'll pull the fire alarm so that everyone panics and they think they're going away from it, when they're actually funnel them right into a you know, a fatal funnel of death that they can pick them off. It's evil.

15:45 These these these young people are detached. They are not living in the same world as the rest of us mentally. That's crazy. Yeah, So there'll be more that comes out on this, but you know, it's a shame that this event was even attempted to be tornished like that. One of the most patriotic events probably in the history of the world. Or if you watched it, and I mean they're estimating five hundred million people watched those fights. Even people that weren't fight fans watch those fights and thank god, nobody saw a terrorist attack during Yeah that. Yeah, all right, let's do our viral villainy segment that we bring to you, and we're gonna go to Midland, Texas for this one. We're a deadly active shooter incident.

16:32 Incident has rocked Midland, Texas and this was on Friday morning, June twelfth, and thank god, and I know for the one person, this is horrific, but thank god there was only one death reported. There were ten other injuries. But the suspected gunman was forty five year old Victor Mada Villarreal and he was from Odessa. But he was found dead inside a barricaded building following an hour's long standoff with law enforcement. So the shooting unfolded around eight am, and this was near an abandoned veterinary clinic, where Villareal opened fire on officers and bystanders before retreating into the building and barricading himself. Now, the thing is that he had been wanted for days actually because he allegedly fired multiple shots at a Midland police officer during a vehicle pursuit on June the tenth, which was Wednesday. The officer did return fire, but he wasn't injured. Well, Villerel fled on foot and authorities issued a warrant for attempted capital murder of a police officer. So during last Friday's confrontation, officers were pinned down behind patrol vehicles before being safely extracted, but they had to use an armored vehicle to do this.

17:36 No law enforcement officers were injured, and witnesses in the area reported hearing around forty gun shots and then they also said they heard what sounded like a small explosion. So around twelve thirty they used a robot and drone to confirm the scene and then authorities would find Villareal deceased inside of the building. The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation as an active shooter incident and DPS has asked anyone with information to please come forward. The victim has been identified or I guess this would be. The deceased victim has been identified as Edward ed Randall Scott. He was sixty two years old of Midland. He was a longtime City of Midland employee in the solid waste department.

18:18 And to give you a little bit more insight to this guy's character, he was a well known beloved figure in the local sports community, where he served as an umpire for softball games at the area of high schools and colleges, and he was remembered by his friends and family as a loving father and a husband who brought kindness and humor to those around him. Now. Of the ten that were injured, nine were taken to Midland Memorial Hospital and one to another hospital, which is in Odessa. Initial reports indicated that four patients underwent surgery and five others were stable. Several were later discharged. As of the most recent updates, five victims remained hospitalized in various conditions. Midland Mayor Lourie Blanc expressed condolences is at a news conferences at a news conference, saying that her heart breaks for the victims and for their families, and a family or reunification center was established at the Midland Memorial Hospital for those that were seeking information about their loved ones.

19:12 The Midland Police Chief Greg Snow noted that officers acted quickly to deny more targets for this active shooter, and we out you know, we have his picture. You're watching this on our patreons. You can see the shooter. Yeah, you know, I don't even know what to say about that self inflated gunshot wound. Such a coward he won't even he won't even face justice right on. You know that's a coward right there. You shot a sixty two year old man. You know they don't care who they killed. No, they don't. But in this type of why I know, why won't there's no explanation that will even justify. But why you know, you a shootout with police is a traffic stop, yes, two days prior. Crazy you're willing to get in a shootout over that. So it does it does make you wonder had has he done something else prior to this? And so you know, I'm going to give our listeners a little insight here. Something that's very interesting in law enforcement is that sometimes you just happen upon a criminal and you don't know it, like just in a traffic stop. But that person you're pulling over thinks you know more than you know, and that's why things can escalate, like they think you're pulling them over for maybe something that they did prior, like oh my god, they know I did it, And the officer sometimes has no idea. They're just pulling over for a traffic stop.

20:37 So this kind of makes me wonder had he done something already. Well, he had weapons charges stretching back to two thousand. And nine, right, so, but I'm wondering did he. So he's definitely been in some thrust. Yeah, sos. Is there something else they're going to uncover that would be a reason to get into a shootout or did he just decide Nope, you're not pulling me over and start shooting. I ain't going back to Jailer's right, But then you kill a bunch of in this people, and the police certainly part of those innocent people. But you may not go back to jail, but you're going to hell. Injured ten and kill one had nothing to do with this situation. Sick yeap at all? All right, Let's go to Lexington, Kentucky, and authorities are searching for a thirty nine year old personal trainer who was last seen walking away from a Planet Fitness gym toward a wooded area behind a nearby low store. Elaina Moore was reported missing. This was on Friday, June twelfth, after her husband contacted the Lexington Police Department. She was last seen on Thursday, Gene eleventh, when she signed in at Planet Fitness on Whiteford Way. This was around six forty pm, witnesses reported seeing her walk away from the gym in the direction of a wooded area. Now. Moore is described as five v seven, one hundred and twenty pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, last scene wearing an olive green zip up hoodie and black athletic pants. She is believed to have had her phone with her, but it has not been pinging since at least Monday quote as a Monday. We do not suspect foul play and

22:11 we do not believe she is in imminent danger. That from the lex Lexington Police Department investigator Missy Silcox, which I don't know they have more information than me, but that seems like we'll talk about in a second. Police and search teams have searched the wooded area behind the Loews using drones and other resources, but if not located more or any trace of her, and the investigation remains open. She worked as a personal trainer at Wolfe's Fitness Center in Lexington. She is a regular visitor to the Planet Fitness location where she was last seen. So you know, loved ones obviously desperately asking for anyone's help locating this young lady. Thirty nine year old Elaina Moore and she's beautiful.

23:00 Doesn't make any sense to me why they would just completely roll out foul play when they have no idea what happened to her. I actually it does make sense to me. It does, yes, So. For them to say no foul play suspected tells me that they already know that something was already going on in some aspect of her life. I don't know if they were looking through text messages or anything like that, but the police know something here. So the hubby contacted that she was missing. Now, this is all my opinion, and obviously we don't have much to draw off of. But knowing what I know, there is something that's happening in the background right now that's leading them to believe that she disappeared on purpose, that she left. So I don't know if there was some marital discord. I don't know if they know something else. And again, their marriage may have been fine, but something is telling them that this is not an issue because adults number one are allowed to disappear. We know that, but this has been too long for this not to be a red flag unless police know something I don't know.

24:03 It just seems very strange. If you want to disappear that you can assign into workout and walk right out the door. So to me, my mind goes to this that she walked towards the wooded area, because I bet you there's another roadway that you can walk through this wooded area and get to. And someone picked her up. That's what my mind thinks happened. That's why she's not there. It's certainly possible. Yeah, and so again for them to say no foul play suspected, that would mean you willingly. I think they know she willingly was going to do something with someone else. Again, my opinion possible. But when we get information, hopefully she's safe and found, we can follow up and there you go, you know, trying to figure that one out. But hey, I do hope that she's okay wherever she is and whatever's happening, And I hope they get closure on this one and can get some answers. Okay, Atlanta, let's go there.

24:52 I've only been to Atlanta, like for the airport r I never got to really go like exploring. We're gonna be talking about a federal judge and some offensive behavior that went on. So a sitting federal judge has issued a pointed apology to a former law clerk after investigations confirmed she engaged in sexual activity with a high ranking police officer inside her courthouse chambers during work hours and then lied to investigators when she was confronted. US District Judge Eleanor Ross of the Northern District of Georgia wrote in a June eleventh letter that her actions were patently wrong and there was no excuse. She told the clerk her experience has been marred by my own offensive conflict.

25:37 The investigation was launched last fall by Chief Judge William Pryor of the US Circuit Court of Appeals after one of Ross's law clerks came forward. According to the findings, Ross had sex with a uniformed police officer in her office on multiple occasions, close enough that staff members could overhear it. Court law entries and security footage showed that the officer made repeated visits after or around lunchtime. When initially questioned questioned, the judge denied everything and suggested the complaining clerk might have fabricated the allegations in retaliation for being required to work in the office, and she later admitted to the extramarital relationship, but denied mistreating the staff.

26:18 The investigation also uncovered that Ross attended a partisan police political event, a primary election victory party for a district attorney friend, the night before she was supposed to meet with summer interns. Clerks told investigators the judge then later skipped lunch with the interns, saying she had consumed too many martinis the previous evening. As far as discipline, Ross received a private reprimand she agreed to not seek the chief judge position in her district when eligible, and was required to write an apology letter to six former law clerks. Her June eleventh letter to one clerk went further than earlier efforts, which she described herself as entirely deficient because she failed to take full responsibility. In the letter, Ross also apologized for obviously accusing the clerk of lying. I also want to this is a quote. I also want to convey my deepest apologies to you for my false accusation against you. Again, I have no excuse and immensely regret my behavior. She closed by saying she hoped her acknowledgment would be a small first step and vowed to take additional steps to ensure the conduct never happens again.

27:18 The scandal's already drawing political heat. Two Georgia congressmen filed separate impeachment resolutions against Ross this week. Federal judges hold lifetime appointments and can only be removed through impeachment by House and conviction in the Senate. The resolutions now sit with the House Judiciary Committee. Ross previously worked as a prosecutor in the Fulton County District Attorney's office before her appointment to the federal Bitch, what do you think, Kelly, Well, I think that she ought to know better the fact that she would as a judge. She definitely as a judge to fabricate. I'm not even you know what. The sex shouldn't have happened, but whatever, Your grown woman make bad decisions. But then for you to turn around and accuse somebody of lying, that is a prom for me, that rips all of your credibility.

28:04 Yeah, you're caught. Just to just own up to it. I mean, I know it's embarrassing and I know it probably sucks, but you certainly don't throw someone else under the bus as if they're lying about it. Yeah, and you're using your power as the judge to be what people use for your credibility when the poor little law clerk or whatever you know, is just telling the truth. Yeah, what it's all said and done. But this is the bigger issue. All right, it's a federal judge. You're crazy if right now you don't think that the appeals are about any case that involved this judge and that officer that she was sleeping with, any decision made, if there are any, I don't know that there are, but any. If you're crazy if you don't think that that is now about to disrupt all proceedings any of those cases if they exist. Oh sure, because clearly there's a conflict of interest here. So now you've wasted the court's time, you've wasted the taxpayers money if any of this was in appeals, which I think it will.

29:02 Yeah, and there these are district judges appointed by the president. They're not in this case. It was an Obama appointed judge, but they're appointed by presidents, so their background is certainly checked. And looks like she made a really bad decision, probably several times and throwing somebody under the bus for that. You're right that that could lead to something if there were some cases involving that particular officer, and. I wouldn't know that. I would never want to work for her either, because no, yes. And listen to moaning all day or whatever was going. On that way, that would make me so mad, just because how dare you be quiet?

29:45 Let's go into lustful lawbreakers. A forty one year old Plover man is facing felony charge after police say he broke into a Stevens Point home near the University of Wisconsin campus and stole only the victim's underwear. According to the Stevens Point Police Department, officers were called to the residence after a twenty one year old woman reported that oliver underwear had been taking from a bedroom dresser. Nothing else was missing from the room or anywhere else in the room. Investigators quickly obtained surveillance video from a nearby residence and identified the suspect as You're not gonna believe his name, John P. Stalker.

30:38 Oh my god, it sounds like a student. It sounds like a you know, I'm. Not making it up, John P. Stalker. And I wonder if the pea stands for like peedo or something, because this is gross. Officers located Stalker, questioned him about the theft and discovered the victim's underwear inside the backpack. A subsequent search of his property turned up additional women's underwear connected to that reported incident, and Stalker was arrested and charged with one felon account of burglary, along with multiple counts of bail jumping. The bail jumping charges stem from two open stalking cases. Can't make that up. He made his initial appearance in the circuit court on Wednesday, June tenth, where the judge set a forty thousand dollars cash bond, and his next date is scheduled for June twenty second. Police said Stalker, who was born September twenty ninth, nineteen eighty four, remains in custody at jail. Detectives are continuing to investigate whether he may be connected to other similar thefts in that area, and the unusual nature of a theft targeting only intimate clothing while leaving other valuables untouched has obviously drawn concern and attention in that community, which sits just a short distance from campus. Authorities have not released edition details about the event, investigation, or potential motive. But I'm gonna tell you, if you're watching this on the Patreon, he looks like someone named John P. Stalker. That's all I'm wist say.

32:09 He looks like a larger version of Peter Dinklage. If you saw hims, you would think that's a freaking stalker. Yeah, he's coachy my first lot. He's pretty scary looking. Now. Look, I can guarantee you, even though I don't know anything about this case, but I can guarantee you that she has been being watched and that this was not just by chance that he broke in and just stole random underwear. But his name is John P. Stalker, and of course he's. Watching John pervert Stalker. That's what his name is, all right. But you know, Jim, a friend of mine actually went through this very same thing here locally where we are. It was her mother, and her mother was in her sixties or seventies when this happened, but her underwear kept going missing, and the family is like, what are you talking about? They set up cameras and sure enough, her neighbor that's been neighbors for thirty something years is breaking in their house taking her mother's underwear. Sitting in the rookliner in their house and sniffing them. So perversion runs all over the place. But this is absolutely a sex offender in the making. Just because you're stealing underwear, they're going to progress. They're perverted and it's driving them. They're liking also the risk involved, and that's the scary part.

33:19 You know, you're willing to break in and steal the underwear. It's only sex related. Now, Yeah, you know there's people, I mean, aren't there people like online that buy underwear like well buy only fans chicks underwear and stuff like that. I don't know. But do I need to sign up for that too, because I already last week said I was going to start selling my feet. Well, I don't know. I don't like doing laundry down Hey, it sounds like a plan. I'm just sell my underwear and buy new ones than do laundry. So weird, so gross. Yeah all right, Well let's move into our foolish felon segments, and we're going to go to Hollywood, Florida. Now, when I think of Margaritaville, you know, I'm thinking, you know, stepped on a pop top, you know, blowing out my flip flop and drinking and having a good time. Jimmy Buffer, you're thinking of the beach, yeah, and I'm thinking of relaxing. Well, some other young South Florida men had some other ideas in mind, and now they've been charged in federal court with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping in connection with a violent armed abduction that began in the parking lot garage of the Margeritaville Hollywood Beach Resort on May twenty sixth that ended. Get this, y'all, with torture, robbery and a victim dramatic escape that is going to be at a remote boat ramp near the Everglades. This is like movie level stuff here, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed this week, the ordeal started around eleven PM when

34:49 two male victims who knew some of the suspects socially, were approached on the Hollywood Beach boardwalk by nineteen year old Saul Fajardo and a seventeen year old girl. Fajardo then invited them to smoke weed in his red Hyundai Elantra, which was parked on the resort's fourth floor garage. So while one victim sat in the Hyundai rolling a joint. A blue Cadillac pulled up. Four masked men wearing latex gloves and armed with semi automatic firearms jumped out. One of them, who was identified as a Mari Hill he's twenty one, rushed a victim, slammed him onto the hood of the car, and pistol whipped him. Fajardo reportedly told Hill, chill out, not on my car, Like that's wow, okay, that's what we're dealing with right now.

35:37 It mean not my car, right right. So two victims were forced into separate vehicles at gunpoint, one into the Hyundai and the other into a Honda a Cord driven by Anthony Hernandez, who was eighteen. They were driven to a remote location known as quote unquote the Spot, which was an empty parking lot at the West Broward Boat ramp. There, the victims were ordered to kneel at gunpoint. Justin Fihong Lay, who was twenty, allegedly used a blow torch, like my mind didn't even go there at eighteen years old to bring a blow torch to anything, but he used a blow torch to burn a racing flag tattoo on one of the victim's arms while saying quote, I'm going to burn the tattoo off of you. You don't deserve to have it. I'm going to torture you. Lay also threatened to pull out the victim's fingernails with pliers every ten minutes if he didn't get money, and he warned I will kill your family if you go to the police. Both victims were stripped down to their underwear and robbed of jewelry, including Cuban link link chains and a bracelet, cell phones, clothing, cash, air pods, and other belongings that they had on them.

36:42 One victim was forced to send four hundred dollars via Zell. During a video call. He'll allegedly fired around into the air and said, we're not playing and it sounds like they weren't. M I mean, this is horrific. The suspects also burned some of the victim's clothing and their items at the scene. Now the victims were able to escape in separate directions. One, who was wearing an ankle monitor, gave the suspects a false address. They dropped him in a subdivision, and he walked to a relative's house in his underwear and summoned help. The second victim, fearing that he was about to be killed because the group was talking about burning evidence, he faked a seizure. The suspects checked his pulse, they started panicking, and that's whenever they drove a short distance and threw him out of the car.

37:25 And he made it to a neighborhood in Weston, where he asked a passer by to call nine one one. He was treated at the Broward Health Medical Center for a head laceration that required staples and to those burns to his arm. Now, the six men charged in Fort Lauderdale Federal Court Arsaul Alfonso Fajardo, who goes by Gordeau anyway. He's nineteen, He's from Hollywood, Justin Fi hong Ley twenty of Miramar, who goes by Chino Amari Tamar Hill twenty one of Sunrise who goes by Black, Anthony, Terrell Hernandez eighteen of Miami, Mark Quivis McNichols junior, En Homestead who goes by Kiev or agent, and Whilin Hernandez twenty of Miami.

38:06 All six were arrested and they're being held at the Royal Rain. Excuse me. The Paul Rain Detention Center in Pompano Beach. Their arraiments are scheduled for later this month. The seventeen year old girl that was with them, I was curious about that, and it says that she's also been questioned, but her status is unclear because she's still a minor. Investigators use surveillance video from the Margerita Ville garage, GPS data placing the suspects at the spot, recovered burned evidence, text messages, and statements from victims and some suspects to build the case. The victims lost personal property and they definitely suffered physical injuries, but both ultimately survived this terrifying encounter. It don't sound like any of these people were law abiding citizens to start with, but obviously crazy situation. And this dude had a freaking ankle monitor on and you kidnap it. That's smart. So that's smart. For the first time, I can follow him everywhere, right.

39:00 So for the first time ever, having a ankle monitor actually helped out. Yeah, as they can right, usually the other way around. But let's talk about this. How fricking stupid do you have to be to say, zell me some cash? So you're basically making an electronic receipt for the criminal not to mention the video call like you're just hello, here it is. And both people got away. Yeah, you're not even good at kidnapping. But let's talk about how good the victims are here. Number one gave the wrong address because they had threatened to kill his family, so he gives a wrong address. Brilliant, Okay. And then the second one, the second one takes the seizure and they are like, oh shit, we ain't medical, we don't want to kill the dude, we don't know, blah blah blah. Whatever.

39:42 Let's go into New York City, Okay, and big deal. Last week, the New York Knicks captured their first NBA championship in more than a half a century. It's been fifty three years. Shout out to Lisa Frankowski, who is a big fan of this ship. We lovely and. She is a big New York Knicks fan, and we were actually talking about this right before they won that championship. So she got what she wanted and I can guarantee you she did not act like this. So they win the championship and in celebration, mayhem occurs across Midtown Manhattan.

40:25 As a matter of fact, a teenager gets shot, four people get slashed or stabbed, five school buses got set on fire, and there were dozens of arrests. Now, the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs ninety four to ninety on Saturday night, and they claimed the franchise's first title since nineteen seventy three. Now, the win against the Spurs actually took place in Texas at San Antonio, but the fans that didn't stop them in New York from pouring out into the streets of Madison Square Garden in Tomes Square. They were hawking horns, team chants and all that's great. They set off fireworks and what many described as one of the biggest parties seen in years.

41:07 But the early hours of Sunday, however, the mood had shifted. I guess everyone's alcohol started to take effect. Around two am, gunfire erupted near Broadway Street. A seventeen year old boy was shot in the foot. He gets transported to the hospital. He'll be fine. Police also reported for stabbings during an overnight during the overnight disorder and in addition, five yellow school buses. Now this one blazed my mind, some of which had actually been used to transport World Cup soccer fans earlier that evening. They were set on fire. Hell yeah, we won. We're gonna set five school buses on fire. It's just dump. Other incidents included fireworks being let in the dense cries kind of get that, okay, light and firework. Yeah.

41:54 Brawls broke out, people scaled scaffolding, lightholes and statues, and including at least five police cars having the windows smashed out. So yeah, let's smash out police car windows. Ten NYPD officers were injured, including one punch in the face and another was struck with a glass bottle. The New York Police Department said have made sixty three arrest on charges everywhere from assault of a police officer to criminal mischief. Officers and rio gear were deployed as the crowds became increasingly destructive and the next owner, James Dolan, urged fans to celebrate responsibly during the postgame news conference, saying, we need to tell everybody in New York that we know that they are celebrating and we want them to have a great time, but be safe, don't get hurt. Don't hurt anybody. And New York City's mayors Zohan Mandami Zorham, however, he says, damn name yeah, ziem Mondani. He called for similar responsible behavior, saying the night fleck the best of our city, which maybe it did, I don't know. While the vast majority of fans celebrated peacefully, the violence and property destruction obviously cast a big shadow on what should normally be a historic event. People should be happy. Why are we shooting people? Why are we setting things on fire? U.

43:21 There's a picture that I'm showing right now of a guy and I don't know what it looks like. He's shooting like a firecracker at the ground and he's got a New York Knits shirt on. Just you know, on y'all? What the hell? So this is the deal? Here? Bus on fire? What time was the wind? Do we know what time? It was? Nighttime? So what happens is all the people that do have joy in their heart and are excited go out there and they sing and they chant, and then they ended up going home. And that's why this was in the early morning hours. The knuckleheads are out there and they start getting in that mob mentality, and when a mob mentality takes over, people acted down. And that's another reason why I hate big crowds and big events, because it only takes one or two knuckleheads. Well I mean, I mean, knuckle has not even the right word. They're stabbing each other, you know, and button, Yes, I mean that's ignorant and it's absurd, and majority of people know that. So if you've partaken that, it shows an immaturity level beyond that you would just go destroying stuff. All right, Now, this is gonna be a little less uh dangerous, but it hurts nonetheless. And we're gonna have to go to Bakersfield, California. Now.

44:34 A routine Amazon delivery turned into a strange ownership battle after doorbell camera footage captured a driver scooping up a family's gray tabby cat from their front porch and walking away with her. Aren't they supposed to be delivering, not taking? It's Amazon delivery delivery? Well, he also took so. Brenda Wilson watched in disbelief as the delivery driver dropped off a package, interacted with her cat Juni, on the porch, and then carried the animal off the property. Wilson immediately fought a police report, and the Kerrent County Sheriff's Office began their investigation into the incident as an apparent theft of a cat. But the driver at the center of the controversy, Joshua Gonzalez, says that he did nothing wrong, saying that he instantly recognized the cat as his own missing pet while making the delivery. And here's a quote.

45:21 I recognized it was my cat because of his distinct forehead design, the eyes, and how the body was set, Gonzalez said, I knew it was my cat, so I just grabbed him and walked off. Gonzalez claims that he adopted the gray domestic short hair from animal control in October of twenty twenty five for his seven year old daughter. He said his family has been calling the cat by a different name they were leaning towards Spartan, and that he simply took back what belonged to him now. Wilson strongly disputes the version of events. She says that her family has had Juni since twenty twenty two and that the cat is well known in the neighborhood. She noted that Gonzalez had previously lived nearby. Wilson described her shock at seeing someone take the friendly cat, and said if it had truly been a mistake, the driver could have simply returned her to the driveway. Juni knows her way inside.

46:08 The adoption paperwork Gonzalez showed the news outlet confirms he took in a great domestic short hair around that time, but the documents do not include a photo, named sex, or specific markings that would clearly identify the cat as the same cat. After Gonzalez provided the records to his manager, he was told to pick up his final check. Amazon later confirmed that Gonzalez, who worked for an independent contractor, is no longer allowed to deliver packages on the company's behalf. We've been in contact with the driver's employer, and the drivers no longer allowed to deliver Amazon packages, according to a spokesperson. We'll continue to work with law enforcement and will defer to them for details as they investigate. Now. Gonzalez has maintained that the video doesn't look good, but he insists he was simply reuniting with his cat. He said the animal is now back home, happy and surrounded by her toys. He shared a photo showing the cat relaxing beside him. The Kerran County Sheriff's Office investigation remains open and no criminal charges have been filed.

47:04 I mean, you don't come across these stories often. I don't know who's telling the truth here, and now I must he's owning it, almost to the point that I'm apt to believe that he if it's not as cat, he sure believes it is. Well guess what, because I don't know why you would just pick up the cat and leave if you're an Amazon delivery drive. I think he definitely believes it's his cat. I do think he believes it. But I also know that we have had cats in our neighborhood that multiple people quote unquote owned like it lived a double life. So it would you know my cat didn't come home tonight. Yeah, well it's over at ray Ray's house, spending the night and sleeping where, you know, and then when the cat doesn't come, it's it's at the other house. So I'm wondering if maybe they're both telling the truth that the cat is you know, because cat's roam.

47:48 If they're left outside. Was this an inside cat? No, because the delivery driver took it outside. Well, I know but I mean, did it sleep inside every night and it was just outside during the day. I don't know. I mean, there's some information missing from there, but he certainly believes it, and there's not been an arrest, so it makes me think the cops believe it. Well, here's the thing. Why would this woman not be pushing this dude to be arrested if that was someone's pet. Guaranteed they would be raising more cane than what the cat. I believe should be given back to where it originally came from, pending some sort of investigation here. But yeah, if she's not fighting back for the cat, and the man's like, look, this is our cat. We know it is.

48:29 This is the thing dogs, you know, if it's your dog or not. Because of the personality of the dog. I don't know that. And I had the cattle would tell you, yeah. I will bet you get a lot of comments right now saying I promise you I known my cat. But he says because of the markings, not because of the personality. So I wonder what if it just looks ident identical. I don't know. I don't when I'm a cat. This is like a I guarantee cat owners would say, I know my cat. I'm not hating, by the way, I'm just curious, you know, like, would you know your cat if it was an outdoor roaming cat, I would. Think so, I would think, so it's your pet, you would know. I mean just because it looks exactly like another pet.

49:11 You wouldn't know your pets specifically. This week, okay, we my daughter found a cat and on online someone said that their cat was missing. And we looked at the picture, we looked at the cat, we looked at it. We're like, oh my god, we found your cat. Contact the lady. She's like, oh my gosh. Yes, and then it turns out, oh no, this is not my cat. That just happened this week. Yeah, so there you go. You knew. All right. Let's go to Alabama and what started out as a one star Google review of a new ice cream shop has escalated in the criminal charges, a viral video, death threats, and public apologies on both sides. Mallory Goldman, owner of the Local Scoop, which is an ice cream shop in bay Manette and Alabama, and her husband, Ryan Goldman, were arrested this past Thursday on misdemeanor charges stemming from a June seventh confrontation with a customer named Daniel Smit Mallory faces charges of harassment and criminal mischief and Ryan faces a harassment charge. Both were released from jail now. The Local Scoop opened in March of twenty twenty six as the newest ice cream spot in town. On March twenty eighth, Daniel Smith visited that shop during the grand opening. He later posted a negative review, criticizing the shop's decorations and claiming employees messed up his order. Smith said he routinely leaves reviews good or bad and described his post as quote constructive criticism. He told reporters he had basically forgotten

50:45 about it until Mallory Goldman tracked him down. Roughly three months later. On June seventh, Goldman confronted Smith in a ban Manette parking lot. The exchange, which was fully captured on video. It's Like a fifteen minute video by Smith was later posted on his Facebook and it quickly went viral. In the footage, a heated argument unfolds, will raise voices and profanity. Mallory has heard saying, quote, I'm mad because I busted my ass at something and you think you're going to run it into the ground. She repeatedly called the review a bitch move, and she did on his hilarious on the video and warned, quote, you shouldn't though it would be in your best interest not to come around anymore or talk about my shop anymore. Do you understand you'll find out? And he said, basically, what does that mean? And she said, you'll find out? Say enough.

51:41 Don't you ever worry about the local scoop again? Don't you know sho make T shirts? Don't worry about the local school. Smith responded by questioning her reaction in mental state. He later alleged that Mallory touched him multiple times, knocked his phone out of his hand, stomped on it, and damaged the device. Ryan Goldman did arrive during that altercation, and Mallory has maintained the situation involved more than just a review. In a written statement, she said Smith had posted about intimate personal details of my life and family for Moss, many of which have been deleted. Bay Manette Police confirmed the arrest. The Goldmans were booked on the misdemeanor charges and released, and since the video surface, the Local Scoop has faced a lot of backlash, including quote unquote death threats.

52:31 The shop reportedly lost its supplier in the days following the incident, and in public statements both parties express regret. Mallory Goldman wrote, I apologized to Daniel smit to my family and those in the city I love. I'm embarrassed with how I acted. I let something get to me that I should have overlooked. I started the shop to add something to Bayminette. A place for families to comment. Was supposed to bring people together, and because of my actions, it has done the opposite. I asked Daniel Smith give me grace. I asked if the community give me grace. Daniel Smith said he was ashamed of his actions and apologized he made Goldman angry. He haded he never threatened anyone or destroyed property, and plans to continue reviewing restaurants while exploring possible civil action. The case has sparked a lot of discussion about doxing and escalation in the age of social media. What began is customer disappointment over ice cream in service now has turned into a very public criminal dispute. And I'll say that I tried to look up the local scoop on Instagram after I came across this article, and their Instagram has been deleted. So I don't know if this has shut this business down. I would hate to see that. But a lot of lessons to be learned here. Number one, don't confront people that leave bad reviews. It's never going to turn out good.

53:57 You know, they have a right to say what they want to say. For her to say there have been family attacked my personal life, my family has been attacked online, I don't think that she would throw that out there for no reason. And then it says in comments that have that have been since been deleted, so they had to have been there if they have since been deleted. And so I'm thinking this goes deeper than just the I but I. Think you need to watch the video because she's not an innocent part. You need to watch that video, watch her attitude and the certain There are a lot of things she says that are pretty offensive during her no doubt action with this guy. No doubt, I'm not I've seen parts of it, and I'm not I'm not condoning the behavior at all. I mean, you've messed up, lady. You shouldn't have done and you know, he has a right.

54:41 To leave a review, good, bad or otherwise. I wouldn't do it, you know, I think it's just bad gig. But then when you start, when you start as a grown man saying you're going to look into civil action, I think there's a lot to that. All right, let's do our International Indiscretions segment, which is going to take us all the way to London and Britain will ban children under the age of sixteen from using a range of social media apps including Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube, to protect them from harmful content and excessive screen time. Prime Minister Starmer announced the ban, which is expected to take place or take effect early next year, makes the UK part of a glowing, growing global movement to titan online safety for children. Australia, Canada, Brazil and Indonesia have introduced legislation or announced age based restrictions or requirements for children's access to social media. France, Spain, Denmark, Thailand and South Korea are among others studying or developing similar approaches. Every parent can see it with their own eyes. Social media is making children unhappy. According to Starmer, who has two teenage children, I've heard firsthand from families crying out for change, and we will do right by them. The plan was met with mixed emotion and reactions, with some praising Starmer for taking action, while others are questioning the effectiveness of a blanket ban. YouTube and Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, warned Monday that a blanket social media restriction could push kids into unregulated spaces. Blanket bands push

56:12 kids out of such curated, supervised beneficial experiences and towards anonymous, less safe services. A YouTube spokesperson said metas at a ban could drive teens to online alternatives without any parental controls. Starmer acknowledged the challenges and said that some teens would try to find their way around the band, but said I do believe we can enforce it. He added, teenagers drink before they should, but we do not then say in which case, let us abandon any attempt to stop them from buying alcohol. The UK plans to follow the same model for a social media ban as Australia, which last year became the first country to bar under sixteen sixteen years of age from holding social media accounts platforms that failed to take responsible steps to exclude children younger than sixteen could be punished with multi million dollar fines.

57:01 The UK said that it's gonna apply to platforms like Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and x, but not YouTube kids or messaging services like WhatsApp and Signal. He stressed that enforcement actions will target tech companies, not children. He said the move was a big movement moment for our country, adding that it will go further than Australia's measures. The government will also act to prevent strangers from contacting children on gaming and live streaming platforms. Starmer said AI chatbots designed to simulate romantic or sexual relationships with users will be restricted to eighteen and older, and the authorities are also considering additional measures, including overnight curfews and breaks, and infinite scrolling for those under eighteen. More details are expected next month.

57:47 And I like it all right, Well, you know, I don't know what the solution is. I'm just I think that you have to be real careful when you start pulling away freedoms, even or young people, because their parents carry a lot of responsibility in that as well. But like, okay, for a tech company, you don't have to by the way you don't have to participate in it. Okay, So if you don't like it, don't participate in it. But what I'm saying is, Okay, if it's just to keep up with family, okay, Well then why aren't there parameters? If you're under sixteen, you can only add people that are verified through an adult account as family. You know what I'm saying. Like, again, anything could happen there, but there's got to be a way. Yeah. The reason that media companies are pushing back so hard is because they know that a mass majority of the people accessing their their social media are young people. So they're about to be crippled financially. It's not and we have to make a decision here. Are we going to just let it keep happening and let horrible things keep taking over? And you know, or should we make you know?

58:46 In a high school and I've been there y'all for twenty years, the kids don't communicate. Teenagers. The last year I was in the classroom, literally said to me, I wish we couldn't have cell phones in school. And I was like, I looked up. I said, excuse me? They said, yeah, we sit in class and we don't talk. We look at our phones. You know, you're not supposed to talk in class. No, but like they don't have relationships in real life. Like they say, we'll go to we'll go to lunch. We'll go to lunch, and nobody talks to each other. They're all just staring at their phone. We are losing community because social devices. It needs to be honed, but I think it's founded in good thought process. All right, Well, that's all we got for our regular show, and we're going to go into overtime. And just like I did last week, I'm gonna go ahead and let everybody for the next week when we do these listen to the overtime segments as well. Now you won't be able to see the video like our overtime subscribers do, but and you'll have commercial pauses where you don't get that with the Patreon, but we'll give you a little idea of what that's like. So Kelly, let's go into overtime.

59:52 I'm ready, all right, and we're gonna start off in Kansas City, Missouri, and two brothers.

1:00:33 From San Antonio, Texas working as truck drivers, had been charged with felony offenses after allegedly stealing more than eighteen thousand dollars worth of equipment and memorabilia belonging to England's national soccer team while transporting it from Florida to the team's World Cup base in Kansas City. Mustafa Salek and Arthinkmal each faced one count of leaving stolen property of felony under Missouri law that carries a potential prison sentence of up to seven years. So the theft came to light Thursday when England's logistics staff discovered items missing from a trailer when it arrived at the Swape Soccer Village.

1:01:17 This was the team's training center, like their base for the twenty twenty six Fivefold World Cup. The gear been trucked from England's pre terminate camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, so the Kansas City Police they searched the cab of the truck and they recovered the majority of the missing items, valued at approximately nineteen thousand dollars. Court documents list a mix of high valued sign memobilia and everyday training equipment, including multiple team jerseys that were signed, nine pairs of cleats, five pairs of shoes, an official World Cup match ball, Gold Cup goalkeeper, shoes, training shirts and shorts, some speakers, a lego set modeled after Nike air shoes, and other electronics.

1:02:06 Prosecutors alleged the brothers knowingly possessed that stolen property. Have her Both been told investigators they believe they had permission to take the items. One brother said he saw a laborer taking shoes while the trailer was being loaded in Florida, and later called someone connected to the English Football Association, who allegedly told them they can take whatever they wanted. The other brother gave a similar account. The bizarre theft adds a strange chapter to England's eventful US preparations, which have already included an earthquake during training camp in Florida and severe thunderstorms, tornado warnings and other things near the Kansas City training center as well. So the England World Cup team not having a good time so.

1:02:56 Far, Okay, well, because you're going to get hired to transper all the items. But you can take whatever you want. That makes so much sense. Of course that's what happened. But you know what sounds like bullshit to me? Yeah, I can smell that from a mile away. Now even more frustrating to me, okay, money aside. Absolutely, that's wrong and super frustrating. However, when you as an athlete, I know we both were athletes growing up, right, and your gear is so personal to you. You're you know, it's worked into you. Right now thinking about like my glove, you know, as a catcher, and that glove meant everything that was I was worked into it. I was used to it, my cleats everything. For that to go missing, from an athletic viewpoint, that frustrates the hell out of me, because you're not messing with my game, you know, you're messing with my well.

1:03:42 I think the majority of this was MEMORABILEI it was like sign jerseys. Yeah I know I heard that, but just I'm just saying from an athlete's point of view, if my shit went missing, I would like my bat, you know, like you love your items. And whoever's cleats were taken, wasn't it goalie cleats? There was not. Now there's a bunch of shit either way, you know, don't steal that's wrong. Don't give stupid, stupid of excuses. I saw someone else steal some so us that's like, damn, well, I. Mean we're learning something today and I don't steal. Well, I mean, it's captain obvious that they're full of shit and they're gonna make bankroll on these items. Yeah, you know, nobody's just going to give away nineteen thousand dollars worth of memory.

1:04:25 No, and then what pay you to transport it and steal it? All? Like? Come on, man, all right, this one here, this is I don't even know why I'm the one covering it because you're the one that is so strongly against these meetups to sell stuff. But in Toledo, Ohio, here's just another example of how dangerous it is to do that. So, an eighteen year old high school student who was twenty six weeks pregnant was shot and left paralyzed from the waist down during an armed robbery that began as a meeting arranged through snapchat. The victim, identified publicly only as Angel, was shot while she and her nineteen years a boyfriend were near the University of Toledo campus. According to police and family accounts, the couple had driven there to meet someone they had connected with on social media. A man dressed in all black approached their vehicle, pointed a gun to the boyfriend's head and demanded money. When the boyfriend attempted to rustle the weapon away, the gun fired and the bullet struck Angel in her left arm, but it traveled through her side, just above the unborn baby and lodged in her chest and spine area. Angels sustained a spinal fracture at the twelfth vertebrae, resulting in paralysis from the waist down. She also has limited use of her right arm. The bullet narrowly missed the baby, but the trauma caused her to go into early labor, and she is currently awake, eating and using a wheelchair while doctors treat her high risk pregnancy as an emergency situation, with the baby expected to be born very early. Her mom described the terrifying moments after the shooting. The guy pulls the trigger. It hits my daughter in the left arm, goes through her side right above the baby, and by

1:05:57 the grace of God, missed the baby lodged in her chest. Angel, who is a student at Springfield High School, now faces a long and difficult recovery while preparing to become a mother. Angel's family says she's facing the tragedy like a true trooper, fighting for both her own life and for that of her unborn son. Yeah, and it doesn't necessarily get into you know, it says they met this guy. I don't know if they were actually doing some sort of transaction. Yeah, you would think that was a reason. But look, don't meet strangers, man, don't meet strangers from Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. It doesn't matter. There's so many stories that we cover. We could cover one literally every week of someone getting killed or in this case, paralyzed because they decided to meet someone to do some exchange of items. If you can do that, do it somewhere like a police station, parking lot, or somewhere where there's obviously a bunch of people coming and going in your chances of it, let least getting out of that situation without being hurt certainly better.

1:07:04 And definitely not victim blaming here, okay, because these young people did not you know, they went to go do whatever it was that they were doing, and there's no victim blaming here. But we've got to be a little more cognizant of this keeps happening, you know, and if we keep seeing it happen, what can we do to protect ourselves? Yeah, that's right, all right, Let's go to Nashville, Tennessee, and a failed lethal injection attempt on a Tennessee death row inmate named Tony Carruthers has granted the fifty nine year old a one year reprieve, sparing him from execution until at least May of twenty twenty seven. At Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, Police rather prison medical personnel quickly established a primary IVY line for the inmate, but cannot locate a suitable vein for the required backup line mandated by state protocol. After more than an hour of attempts, including an unsuc successful effort to place the central line and more than a dozen puncture wounds, officials halted the procedure.

1:08:08 Attorneys reported that Caruthers winced and groaned invisible pain throughout the effort. The Tennessee Department of Corrections confirmed in the statement the team followed protocol but could not secure the backup access quote. The execution was then called off. Governor Bill Lee then issued a one year reprieve shortly afterward. The move came despite the US Supreme Courts refusalle intervening in the last minute appeal, so Caruthers was convicted in nineteen ninety six for the nineteen ninety four kidnapping, torture, and murders of Delis Anderson and her twenty one year old son, Marcellus Anderson and seventeen year old Frederick Tucker in Memphis. Prosecutors said the victims were abducted at gunpoint, driven to Mississippi, where two were shot and buried alive beneath a casket in a freshly dug grave at a South Memphis cemetery. The motive allegedly involved Carrathers sinking control of a local drug operation. Carrothers has always maintained his innocence.

1:09:11 His conviction relied heavily on testimony from a paid jail house informant. No physical evidence directly linked him to the crime scene. Five fingerprints were covered from the victims' homes, do not match Carrothers or as co defendant, and their source remains unidentified. DNA from a blanket associated with the victims also excluded both men, Contributing to a plea deal in twenty fifteen for his code dependent a guy by the name of James Montgomery, who was also released Carruthers representing himself at trial after dismissing quarter pointing attorneys, and the appellate court later described the trial as so filled with errors that it will require a new trial for his codefendant post conviction of requests for d fingerprint testing off remaining evidence had been denied by the Tennessee courts, and the failed execution was Tennessee's fourth scheduled in less than a year, following a three year pause under Governor Lee to review lethal injection protocols.

1:10:18 So a few things come to mind here in whoever wrote shared those facts for this article. Is that when they said paid jailhouse informant, I don't understand how they're coming up to that, because they jailhouse informants aren't promised anything. They established that at trial. You know, have you been promised anything? Have you been giving anything before you testify? So I don't know who their claiming has paid this jailhouse informant. Secondly, when they say that he represented himself, you're not going to be able to just flat out represent yourself in a death penalty case now there. What probably happened is that he wanted to take lead, but he's definitely, a judge is definitely going to appoint some sort of attorneys to the table with death penalty experience. Now, whether he decides to take their advice or not, you know, that's that's kind of on him. So he's stupid, let's just start there. He is stupid to think that he could represent himself in court and you know, not need a death penalty eligible lawyer because not just anybody can try death penalty trial. So it's just showing me that this guy, this cat's just in a weird mindset. But the other thing is this, you know, the secondary backup line when you're doing a death penalty, when you're doing an execution, is in place because once they pushed the drugs, if anything goes wrong or it fails, then people are

1:11:51 going to start screaming that this is cruel and usual punishment that they started the process and then you know, maybe didn't complete it or or something along those lines. And that's also why they added this statement until you are dead, you know, like in the death penalty phase, because back in the gap they flipped the switch to you know, electrocute somebody, the power didn't function and they're like, well, you were put to death. You lived, you can walk. So there's a lot going on here. That secondary backup was just that in case something happens. So I don't know if he was a huge drug user and he doesn't have good veins prior to this, which it sounds like it because in this all over a drug turf war anyway, But there's a lot going on there that I would question.

1:12:35 Yeah. Well, actually, there are paid jail house informants. It's actually a very common thing. They're not paid in the traditional sense of them gonna get me five bucks, right, but paid jail house informants, often called snitches or incarcera, any individuals who provide testimony or information against another inmate, usually in exchange for personal benefits. These rewards can include reduced sentences, drop charges, financial compensation, or special privileges within the prison system. Because they frequently claimed the defendant made an incriminating confession to them behind bars, the testimony relies heavily on secondary confession evidence, and while they help prosecutor secure convictions, paid jail house informants are widely considered some of the most dangerous and unreliable witnesses in the justice system.

1:13:27 I know it says that, But what he's implying here is that they paid this guy to come in and make false accusations against him to secure the conviction. And in a death penalty. Who's implying that they're just referred to as paid jail house informans. It doesn't have to be with cash. I understand. But when you're saying paid jail house informant, then you're implying that you bought the testimony there was And so I know, but in a death penalty case, the standards are different than in a non death penalty case, and they would not have risked their entire They would not have risked their entire case on the possibility of a jailhouse informant.

1:14:09 Okay, well, the other guy because of that. We don't know it is because of that, it could have been on anything. We don't know. We don't know it wasn't you're speaking is if this is fact that there's no way that happened, that what happened there was a paid jail house informant that testified against him. You know what I'm saying is when they say why didn't they just say jailhouse informant? The reason because the fact that he got a benefit for doing it matters. That matters to his credibility. If you're a jailhouse informant and I just tell on you because you confessed to me you killed somebody, that's one thing. But if I get a reduced sentence because I tell on you for killing somebody, that lowers my credibility. Something happened with this jailhouse informant. He got a benefit for that.

1:14:57 I get that, which is why they refer to him as a paid jail house information. I get what that. I get all that. But what I'm telling you is, in a death penalty eligible case, your prosecutor is not going to hinge throwing the whole case based on this old still house whole case was that informant? I know. So what I'm saying is in that article when they they're hinging it on a there's lots of problems like a paid jail house informant and he represented himself. The bigger issue here is that the fool chose to represent himself. Because you're you're going on, well, I agree with that. So the implication here is they're trying to say this guy didn't do it. And here's all this stuff stacked against him, and I just don't think there's got there's more to it, And for him to have gotten the death penalty, there's certain things that have to be met in a court of LAWSS.

1:15:50 There's a lot of people who get the death penalty, they're xonerated after DNA evidence comes out, I mean all the. Time now, but I'm telling you he was. He wasn't convicted thirty forty years ago. So but I'm just saying that you've always had to have beyond a reasonable doubt for a death. No, I don't mean that. I mean, I don't mean that. I mean certain elements within the crime to even be eligible to get the death penalty. Like, there's certain things that have to be you know. I'd have to look into the case, say before looking into the case, whether or not the guy. Did it or not, it's not about itund But I'm not saying. Whether pay jail house informants if there was DNA on the scene that did not match him or his code conspirator, Man, it's questionable.

1:16:35 Well, it just means more people were there. They have stuff, they have enough to be able to secure that death penalty conviction. What I'm just telling you is they didn't just have I'm not saying fairly any any evidence. And so I just find it very unlikely that a prosecutor would risk an entire death penalty level case of this magnitude. Plus we have multiple victims across different state lines. It sounds like on that third victim. Well, he hitted the other guy and he got released. Yeah, but I don't know what on on what grounds? It could just be on an appeal. Could be Oh, I'm sure it was on an appeal, right, I. Have to be right. So that doesn't mean necessarily that he was exonerated, just means he was released, He was granted, he could have been granted the appeal, and it's pending a new prosecution.

1:17:17 So yeah, I don't know it. Just the way that that was the information was provided there, it sounds like they're like they're trying to imply the deck was stacked against this guy, and I don't I don't buy that. We're going to go to Kentucky and this is where a dine and dash situation is going to get out of control at Texas roadhouse. So a simple dine and dash, I don't know why it's called a simple dine and dash, but at a Louisville, Texas roadhouse ended with a manager shot in the shoulder after he tried to stop the customer from leaving without paying. This happened Thursday evening. This was June eleventh, at the Texas Roadhouse in Louisville, Kentucky. So according to police, twenty four year old Ronald Winner of Louisville sat down ate his meal and then tried to walk out without paying. A manager spotted him and confronted him as he had towards the door. The manager grabbed Winter by the arm to stop him from leaving, and that's when things escalated fast.

1:18:06 Winter reached for a gun that was in his pocket or his waistband area. The manager tried to tackle him to the ground or in the struggle, the gun went off and the manager was shot in the shoulder. The injuries were serious, but not life threatening, and the victim was taken to the hospital. He is in stable condition expected to be released. Winter then fled the scene in a red Ford Ranger. Witnesses and surveillance footage helped police identify him. He was located a few hours later and taken into custody. Now Winter has been charged with second degree assault. Winter was arraigned in court, pled not guilty, and a judge set his bond at twenty five thousand dollars. Winter was also ordered to have no contact with the victim or with Texas Roadhouse.

1:18:46 Terrible and look, nothing is worth your life, obviously and certainly a diamond dash, no exception there. Shameless guy that would even go that far as over a meal. You're gonna throw your life away? Stupid? Yeah, smashing papers one more time, people can hear it. I'll paper cut everybody. I'm rare foreign today girl. All right, any final thoughts? Yeah, actually I do have some final thoughts today, and they are to ask you, what are your final thoughts? My final thoughts are you ought to do a story on you ought to research this Corrother's case. And I think you'll be surprised, and I would do a story on it.

1:19:27 For I'd be happy to I'd be interested to look into it. But this is I think you're going to be real surprised at what you find. I think that maybe so, But I think I would do records requests and want actual life. You can get a lot of those records online, you know, you need to request and their public. I'll look at it. This one's actually interesting to me. I made a note about it in my brain that I was curious to see about the second guy that was released. So no final thoughts though, seriously. Yeah no really. My final thought, Okay, here's your final. Thought is what are my final fault? Well, my final fault was you need to do that story, all right. My final thought is going to be this that I think that doing your own research there's power in that. And I think that having questions and continuing to question things is a good thing. So if you don't like our thought process, great.
