This week, We've got a lineup that's equal parts ridiculous, heartbreaking, and straight up terrifying. We're going to start all the way in Mexico, where federal forces take down drug kingpin L Mincho in a massive raid, but the cartel is already hitting back pretty hard and the violence is spreading throughout that country. In Missouri, two deputies are killed and one injured, leading to a twelve hour manhunt. We're going to catch you up on this story. We head to the Spotlight, where an American idle former contestant is charged with murdering his wife and claiming it was a home invasion. In Wisconsin, an elementary school teacher is caught with cocaine after she used it in the school bathroom. Yep, you've heard that one right. In New York, a man allegedly grabbed a crossbow and went after his own sister because they couldn't agree on the thermostat. In North Carolina, a woman says she accidentally shot her boyfriend while cleaning her shotgun and prosecutors say it was no accident.

We've got a lot of good stories today. Yeah, a lot of uh, I guess, wild things happening in the crime world. Yeah, like well round, I mean I had to say well rounded, but like all over the map here in story and in location. Yeah. Yeah, so we're gonna get I guess we'll jump right into it, get it. And we're going to start out across the border in Mexico. And of course this big trending story right now, no matter where you look, in a major blow to one of Mexico's most powerful criminal organization organizations. Security forces killed Nemessio. How you like that?

2:08 Been practicing my Spanish name pronunciation Nemessio Cervantes. I know y'all are all impressed, because I do have some some not spell checkers, but dialect checkers and whatever out there. We also have like an internal thing here between Jim and I where we see who pronounces things better, and then we'll look it up and. I'll bet on it nine to nine percent of the time. I jacked it up, and I'm not sorry about it. The elusive leader of the New Generation cartel, he's known as Elmento, and this happened during a Sunday military operation in the western state of Jalisco. The death of the fifty nine year old kingpin has unleashed a swift and fierce retaliation, with cartel gunman torching vehicles or erecting fiery roadblocks and clashing with authorities across at least twenty states in the country. Savantes is a former police officer who rose to command of the cartel since its founding in twenty ten, and was one of the world's most richest fugitives by any definition. The US State Department had actually placed a fifteen million dollar bounty on his head, and it's estimated he was worth anywhere between five hundred million and one billion with a b one billion dollars. So you know, when you got that kind of money, it's it's not hard to kind of evade.

3:40 Yeah, you get power and influence. Power and influence, and you can use money to hide wherever you want. Pretty much now, according to the Mexican Defense Secretary. Uh, the operation unfolded in the town of Toapolopa. I probably messed that one up, and we're going with Topolopa in southern Hahalis Intelligence including US provided information that helped track Elmencho's Romanic partners. Partners. Yeah, I'm sure he has multiple. But essentially what happened there was he went to meet it's supposedly an OnlyFans model. Of course, that is one of his partners. Beautiful girl by the way, and I only know that because of the pictures on.

4:26 It has nothing to do with only fans. But he went to meet her. They were supposedly tracking her, and that's what led them to him. So he and his two bodyguards gott in a fear shootout. They eventually killed Elmentcho and eight other members of his cartel. What about the only fans, No, she was not killed. President Claudia shinebamb She confirmed the operation's success on Monday, saying that Mexican forces acted with absolute coordination and no US troops participated on the ground. They only shared intelligence. Quote. Peace, security and normalcy are being restored. The victory, however, did come at a steep price, and it triggered immediate chaos.

5:13 Within hours of the announcement, suspected members of the cartel launched coordinated attacks. They set buses on fire, cars on fire. They blocked major highways in Portuctou, Bayarta. How you like that, a popular Pacific Coast resort town. You could see the black smoke. If you watch Singing In or Fox News, you could see these flumes of black smoke just flying through the air. This costs major cancelations of airlines, including United American and Delta. And the problem with that is that area is a touristy area and there's a lot hundreds, as a matter of fact, of US citizens that got stranded in that area while all this is going down.

5:58 And we'll talk about that in a second. But analyst the warning that Elmncho's death could create a power vacuum and cause even more chaos. We'll talk about that a little bit. But there you haven't. And incidentally, before we say anything else, I did look up what el Mincho meant, because yeah, because el choppo means shorty, well, el mincho doesn't actually mean anything. It has no literal meaning. It's just a nickname. Because we have the ice cream place minche's and I was like, are these little minchos. He owns it? Yeah, right, it's the front. That's how he washes his money. Joe. Yeah, but so no literal meaning there. But look, there's nothing bad about that guy being killed.

6:45 He was, Yeah, I have a friend in law enforcement. And she even shared some screenshots of some messages she was sharing with a friend that lives in Porto Varta, and the conversation is literally terrifying of what those peeople are dealing with and what they're going through. And these people do not have the means to. When I say defend themselves, I mean, you're up against the cartel. And if this one guy was that rich, you know how much money the cartel has. And everybody knows in Mexico that the cartel and the government are in bed together. Everybody knows that. No wonder this guy was caught and now rose to the ranks of whatever he was leader. So these the victim, the true victims here are just the average everyday folk.

7:29 Yeah they are. And look, this is a major deal. This guy was trafficking one third of the drugs into the United States. One third, So does that mean that thirty three percent of the drugs coming in the United States is going to now stop. Of course, not someone is going to take up that role, but you did cut off the head of the snake, and so causing some sort of leadership chaos can be an advantage to the United States as far as drugs being trafficked into this country. I think that you haven't seen the last of this. Let's just say that I think that, uh, you know, this is just my personal opinion, but I think that sometimes things occur for other things to occur.

8:17 And I'll leave everybody to their own judgment to know what I mean, but I think this was intentional. Yeah, I won't be traveling there anytime soon. Yeah, don't go to Mexico. Nothing against the people, but it's just not worth the risk. And the crazy thing about it is the World Cup is supposed to be played in that city that I guess state. I guess they have states like in the United States, but in that area next month. I don't know how that's going to happen with all this. We're worried about the security around that because. Yeah, i'd be like, we're not playing I'm good, but. Yeah, we'll have to say how that one plays out.

8:58 But the fear and I won't belabor it, but just the fear of knowing that those people have unlimited resources and unlimited terror opportunities and they don't care. I would be terrified for my family. So my heart goes out to those people that are just Yeah, and. It's gonna take something like the United States Military to go in there and just totally clean it out. That's really the only way that's going to get accomplish. I mean, you get sixty eighty seals and thirty Green Berets in there and they'll wipe all of them that. I mean, they're that good. Yeah, but you know it would take something like that. Gotcha. All right, let's come back to the States and we're going to go to Highlandville, Missouri. Now, if you've listened to our show for any amount of time, you'll know that both Jim and myself we are huge fans of law enforcement. We believe in the big support Yeah, the good guys. Right, we want the good guys and we want right to win. Well, these are the stories that we don't want to cover. We don't like to cover, but it's in our face and we wanted to share it with you. Two Christian County Sheriff's deputies were fatally shot Monday afternoon and early Tuesday in the southwestern Missouri area, to first during a traffic stop and the second hours later during a shootout that ended in the suspect's death. The incident began around four pm on Monday, February twenty third, when Deputy Gabriel Ramirez, who was thirty years old, pulled over forty five year old Richard Dean Bird near Highlandville during a routine traffic stop.

10:32 Bird opened fire, killing Ramirez before fleeing the scene in a white two thousand and one Chevy extended cab pickup truck with the Missouri license plate of nine mg X three six. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a blue alert was immediately issued, which is a large scale manhunt involving about one hundred officers from multiple agencies, and this included state troopers, the US Marshall Service atf the FBI all the guys were up in this and that was launched. Birds abandoned truck was later located in a wooded area near Reed's Spring in the neighboring Stone County. Early Tuesday morning, around midnight, law enforcement used a Missouri Highway Patrol helicopter, which was equipped with that heat mapping technology, to locate Bird hiding in the woods near the Highway one sixty roundabout close to Red Springs, and as deputies moved in to apprehend him, he then began to open fire.

11:24 In the exchange of gunfire, a second Christian County deputy was killed. Two additional deputies, one from Christian County and one from Webster County. They were wounded with non life threatening injuries. Bird was fatally shot by police who were returning gunfire. Christian County Sheriff Brad Cole addressed the situation Tuesday morning, confirming the deaths and expressing the department's grief. Unfortunately, we lost two of our own tonight, but doing what they took an oath to do, loved and enjoyed. They gave their life not only for citizens they served, but for other officers and deputies involved as well. Long day, trying day upcome days will be harder. We do what we have to do to make sure our citizens are safe.

12:04 That's what we did today. Took the bad guy off the street and sent him where he needed to be. In a blunt assessment of the confrontation, the sheriff stated, really plain and simple, if you want to have a gunfight, we'll have a gunfight, but you're gonna end up dead. And that's exactly what happened tonight with the suspect. Stone County Sheriff Doug Raider described the events as probably the worst day in the history of Christian County Sheriff's Office, but noted the wounded officers are expected to recover. Ramirez, who served in the military before joining the Christian County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division in July of twenty twenty five, was the first deputy killed. The name of the second slain deputy has not been released pending notification of the family, and Missouri Governor Mike Keho said he was in contact with the Sheriff coal or with Sheriff Cole throughout the search and urged anyone with information to come forward. The crime scene, including a taped off house and a wooded area near Reed's Spring, remained active Tuesday morning as investigators from multiple agencies continued processing every ividence. Highway one sixty was closed during the manhunt, but it has now reopened.

13:04 No motive for the initial shooting has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Christian County Sheriff's Office and surrounding agencies have received an outpouring of support from law enforcement across the region, and many departments offering their prayers for the fallen deputies, their families, and the wounded officers. Yeah, and so this guy had already had a history of shooting at the police. Twenty fourteen, shoots at a police officer, thank god, did not hit the police officer. He goes to jail for. That, gets out an attempted murder. Yeah, on attempted murder, and now has another confrontation, shoots kills one, runs, shoots kills another. And thank god that they eventually called him twelve hours later, and he got what was coming to him, quite frankly.

13:55 Yeah, he had no. Respect for the police. Obviously, forty five years old, should have known better. Right, right, And so traffic stops are the most dangerous thing that a law enforcement officer will do. While most of us we get pulled over and we have no intentions to hurt the officer, we're just frustrated. Other than domestic calls, well, yeah, that was. Was gonna say next, other than being frustrated ourselves when we're driving in the day to day interactions, traffic stops are the most dangerous. And this well, and domestics when you go to a house. But I'm talking about driving and doing traffic situations. But what happens here often and I don't know this at the time of this recording, so they may release something after, you know what we've recorded this, But oftentimes what happens here is when it seems unprovoked, you'll find that bad guys may have done something already, and when this cop just happens to pull them over for a traffic infraction, they think that the cop already knows about another incident they've already been a part of, and that's why they yes, and that's why they open up fire. Again, I'm not saying that's the case here, but very rarely does someone just decide to shoot the cop just because of the traffics. I mean, it's usually a compounding issue on that they got something in the car. Yeah, and they think that, you know, they don't want to go back to jail or whatever.

15:09 But this is proof right here that when you are soft on crime, it perpetuates it. Because attempted I'm assuming it was an attempted murder tro oh yeah, was it okay? How the hell? I know people that have been in prison for a long time over drug charges. This guy tried to kill a police officer and then got back out on the street just to kill two more. Yeah, unbelievable. And you know, I think you're absolutely right. I don't know if he had anything in the car. But here's the thing, he's definitely on parole. He shouldn't say if you're if you're. Right, fell into posession of a firearm too, right. Which may have been enough. He may have had that gun in the car, and that's a violation of his parole. And if you're on if you're out on parole for attempted murder, you got a lot of time you're going to have to do if you go back, you know, to finish out that sentence. So that could have been all it took. Any he got dealt with, but thoughts in prayers. I just cannot not imagine these officers families and what they're going through right now.

16:09 So yeah, cool, just doing your job. Yeah, that's awful. All right. Got a story out of North Carolina that is really bizarre and has a lot of people thinking, and I'm to cover that one. In a stunning development that has left her family reeling with a mix of joy and confusion. Michelle Hunley Smith, who was a mother of three that disappeared more than two decades ago, has been located alive and well in North Carolina. Smith is now sixty two now. She was last seen on December ninth of two thousand and one. She left her home in Eaton, North Carolina. She was going Christmas shopping at Kmart in the Martinsville area. Her nineteen ninety five Pontiac Transport van with a North Carolina license plate. Says it was a specialty plate that said kNN rock in On.

17:03 It's kind of a cool one. Her husband reports her missing. He says, hey, she's got a vanity plate. Says this should be easy to find. The vehicle that was on December thirty, first that he reported her missing, which was quite a timeframe, so that raised people's eyebrows. Why tod take you three weeks? So she failed to return home. Nonetheless, that prompted an extensive investigation involving the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, the FBI, and the DEA. So the case remained open for about twenty four years, and her family obviously there seeking answers. Her daughter Amanda, who was actually nineteen at the time of her disappearance, she creates a Facebook page This is in twenty eighteen. She wanted to gather tips to keep the story alive. On February twentieth of twenty twenty six, just a week ago or so, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office announced they had located her her alive and well at an undisclosed location within the state. Now, following new information received through the law enforcement network, sergeant and a detective they go out there, They make contact with her, and they confirm that this is who they think this is. Now, at Smith's family's request, her current whereabouts will not be disclosed to the public, or rather, at her request. She didn't even want her family to know where she's at. Okay, they've been notified. She exists, she's alive, she's doing well, but she doesn't want the

At this point in time, there's no evidence of foul play, there's no criminal charges out there hanging over anybody's head, and this news has elicited what you would think, a whirlwind of emotions from her family and her loved ones. Her daughter, Amanda is just absolutely ecstatic that she's still alive, but she's totally heartbroken the fact. I mean, yeah, I would be too. What in the world. Yeah, she was actually quoted as saying, my biggest question is what happened all those years ago? What made you leave? What happened? I understand and respect she doesn't want any of us to contact her, and I'm not angry. The biggest answer I had today was that she was still alive.

19:24 Nothing else matters at this moment. Now. Reports suggests that Smith have been living a double life in North Carolina since her disappearance. The Sheriff's office has closed the missing person's case, but notes that there's still questions to be answered. But what is going on with that, I don't know. But that woman, aside Okay, that poor girl had to mourn her mother, and they you know, they assume she's dead. You know, she mourned her mother, the loss, she goes through life without her mama, and then you find out she's alive, and then the bitch doesn't want her family to contact her. Well, I think that's pretty Uh. You brought a child into the world, and now you're like, don't contact me. I don't like her.

20:08 I don't know if I don't know, you know, because the girl was nineteen, I don't know if maybe in some way, and I'm not saying this is right, but maybe in some way she figured I've raised her. She's on her own now, and you just something caused her and she just walked away. Look, you know, she didn't leave a six year old, is what I'm saying. That the girl was an adult at this point. I think she was off at college. Do you invest nineteen years and that makes it right? Don't everybody jump on my neck. I'm just we're just talking about guys. There's a difference between leaving a six year old and. A nineteen Yeah, but then again, you this nineteen year old girl has loved you as her mother for nineteen years and am just obscond, Like, my heart's broken. That woman is irrelevant to me. My heart's broken for that girl because why doesn't my mama who raised me for nineteen years want anything to do with me? Can you imagine like how we're like just being abandoned like that?

21:01 How about her husband and I'm sure they were looking at him with a microscope, Oh. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, Because it's questionable to me why he didn't report her missing for over two weeks. Well maybe they had that type of relationship where she was flighty to begin with, you know what I'm saying. Or maybe they got in a fight right before she left and she's you know, it makes me suspect. She said I'm laving, I'm getting out of here, and it was like a threat, right, and you pack your stuff and you got a hotel. Shopping that's true. I don't know. We're all just guessing. To me, if my husband even threatens that he's going to leave me, I told him to do it, sucker. I'm riding with you. You ain't getting rid of me, and I'm not waiting three weeks to find you. You're my best friend. You don't get to just leave, you know what I mean? I just think she really maybe she's mental problems. I don't know what else to chalk that up to. But you've been gone this long and then say don't contact me.

21:54 Yeah, she obviously has some sort ofamental something going on. She's just rocking on without your. Sleeve and disappear from your whole family. But I don't like it. I don't know what it is. I don't like that. If you never heard Teller, Kelly doesn't like it, all right, So now we're going to move on to Connecticut, where a case of premeditated murder has come to a close with the sentencing of Pedro Grahalis, a fifty five year old Hartford man who confessed to stabbing his girlfriend Nilda Rivera twenty five times in a secluded parking lot after treating her to what he intended to be her last meal at a local McDonald's. The incident unfolded in April twenty three when Grahalis, suspecting Rivera of infidelity, meticulously planned her murder after several days or over several days, according to his arrest warrant, Grahalis hid a knife in his pants pocket and deliberately treated the fifty seven year old New Britton woman very nice so she would not suspect that there was an issue. He picked her up from her home, drove to the McDonald's on Brainerd Road in Hartford, and went through the drive through to order food, allowing her to eat it in the parking lot. After the meal, Grahalis drove to a nearby secluded parking lot under the pretenses of retrieving lumber from the back of his vehicle. Once there, he adjusted his driver's seat all the way back so he could have enough room to swing the knife. According to the warrant, Grhalis then removed the knife from his left pocket and began stabbing Rivera multiple times while she remained seated in the front passenger seat. He reportedly watched as she gasped for air and waited until she stopped breathing before proceeding.

23:25 Covered in blood, Grhalis then drove Rivera's body directly to the Hartford Police Department substation, where he walked inside and confessed to the crime. Police found Rivera's body slumped in the passenger seat of the vehicle, confirming the horrific details of the attack. Grhalis pled guilty to murder and was recently sentenced to thirty years in prison, bringing some measure of closure to a case that shocked the community. Authorities noted that his confession and the evidence aligned with the premeditated nature of the act, driven by jealousy and suspicion. How do you only get thirty years in prison for that, Kelly? He got a year for every just you know what I'm saying. He's stabbed that woman twenty five times in a premeditated murder and. The easiest open and shut case you ever have. After he does it, he walks into the police station and confesses and says, I just killed somebody. Yet you only get thirty years in prison. So I have no blows my mind.

24:19 I know, I have no idea. So I'm going out on a limb here guessing. So don't come at me if I'm wrong. But I would bet that maybe again this is going to sound really really bad, But in the court case itself, maybe there was infidelity of some sort, and so I know, I know, I know. But if his argument was that I snapped or whatever, it. Wasn't is premeditated. It's said premeditated murder. If you premeditated. You didn't just I don't know why you didn't get life. So I'm just trying to trying to estimate why thirty years. Yeah, I don't think we can give the answer. I don't know. I'm wondering what his defense was, and that maybe there was some some the jury, maybe thoughts legitimacy to what he was mitigating it with. Is all.

25:02 I'm saying. She did not deserve what she got, no matter what is the case. But only thirty years is insane. Yeah, sometimes it's just stupid, And I think that's just stupid. I don't think you can have any circumstance that would justify killing. And then if there's good time, he could going. In and admitting to it and premeditating it and only getting thirty years. And it doesn't say thirty years without probation or parole or anything like that. So if he gets good time and all that, he could be out and even less. Yeah, usually eighty five percent at least before you get out in cases like this, but who knows. With Connecticut apparently, I don't know, you can kill people and just get thirty years in person.

25:43 If I was her family and you only got thirty years, then it would be in mind. I can't say something, but i'd go earn my thirty years. Yeah, because that's crazy. All right, Let's go to Central City, Kentucky and a thirty two year old man was arrested over the weekend. And you're not gonna believe what he did. So he was caught engaging in sexual activity with a deceased deer on the side of the road. And I'm not making that shit up. A dead deer, you heard me right, a dead deer. According to the Central City Police Department, this incident occurred around seven pm on Saturday, February twenty first, when a passing driver spotted the man later identified as Alan Osborne in the act along a highway. The witness promptly called nine one one, providing a description of the individual and the disturbing scene. Responding officers arrived to find Oziz to get this, find Osborne with his pants around his knees, his hands and clothing covered in blood and deer fur. He was taken into custody without incident and charged with sexual crimes against animals. Osborne was subsequently booked into the detention Center. Details of the arrest reveal the deer was already dead at the time of the incident, that the circumstances surrounding how it came to be on the right side remain unclear. Authorities had not release further information about his motives or prior criminal history. Under Kentucky laws,

27:15 sexual crimes against animals are treated as serious. Offenses as they should as. They should, potentially carrying penalties including fines and imprisonment, and the investigation is ongoing. Anybody screwing a deer guy? He is the one. Yeah, but obviously so much worse at play here than I mean in public sex act. Dead animal, Lock him up, put him away from the rest of us, and.

Okay, we're gonna come right here to Louisiana on this next one to Grant Parish, where a twenty three year old Shreveport resident has been a I'd love to. It's in North Louisiana. It's by Shrieve. I mean it's by Monroe. I guess, yeah, it's all are Yeah, yeah, North Louisiana. Thanks for calling me out, Jim, I'm sorry.

So a twenty three year old Shreveport resident has been arrested following an audacious attempt to introduce contraband into a federal correctional facility in Grant Parish. John Mitchell was taken into custody by the Grant Paris Sheriff's office after investigators uncovered his plan to smuggle approximately twelve gallons of vodka into the prison they were going to get turned yeah, in that prison. The arrest stems from an ongoing investigation, which led to Mitchell being charged with taking contraband into a penal institution. Details on how he intended to transport such a large quantity of alcohol remains undisclosed, but the incident highlights the challenges faced by correctional facilities in preventing the influx of prohibited items. Authorities have not released information on whether Mitchell was a visitor, employee or had other connections to the prison, nor have they specified the exact method of the attempted smuggling. This case marks the eighth arrest in twenty twenty six related to contraband smuggling attempts at this very federal prison. The facility, which is part of the Federal Bureau of Prisons polic Complex, houses inmates in medium and high security units and has seen an increase in scrutiny over security protocols in recent years. Sheriff's officials emphasized the dangers of introducing alcohol and other contraband into prisons, noting that other items can fuel violence, health risks, and undermine rehabilitation efforts. I'm assuming in this article doesn't specify this specifically, but sounds to me like he was a delivery guy of some sort, because number one, you're not shoving twelve gallons of vakap your bung hole, let's hope. So that is a heavy butthole? What and you can't conceal that that's a lot of weight. It sounds to me like maybe a prisoner got to him or an inmate and said, look, we'll pay you some money, bring us a couple of cases of attaka.

Let me tell you something that people would not consider on this where my brain went to alcohol in general is not just a drinking issue in a prison. That is a writing tool because it's flammable and so it's true. Yeah, and so while we laugh and and you know it's funny we joke, everybody would have been turned you know at the prison. What if this would have erupted in a riot that cost people their lives? And so you know, if you don't work in a prison or you never have. That might not cross your mind, you know, like, oh man, you guys just trying to get them some vodka. But that's all we need is all these inmates drunk, fighting and lighting shit on fire. Sounds like a great. Yeah, vodka is serious. I mean, they're not twelve gallons.

If they got the amount that's how much he was trying to bring in that one time. Well listen, so it. Makes you wonder did he get away with this previously? And they just don't know, right.
