Eclectic guests and conversations
Thoughtful, intelligent, funny and at time heart breaking conversations with celebrities from all walks of life. Mark is very open and honest about his life and the journey he’s on. I feel like it’s a dose of therapy before every pod. Much needed in today’s climate.
There’s a reason Maron’s the best
and still gets better. Not sure how this is possible but it’s a fact. He’s mellowed a bit, which helps. Has more women guests. Loves his cats. Reminds the Covid deniers out there that THE PANDEMIC IS NOT, IN FACT, OVER. (Thank you ❤️). And he’s good for the (fellow cultural) Jews like myself. But still….the next time you’re in Amsterdam, go see the Anne Frank House, OK? xo
Sad but effectively understood
Gallagher came across as defensive and had a “What’s in it for Me”attitude. I thought Marc went with his flow well until he did push him on his choice of subjects on comedy. It was hard to listen but it was clear. I enjoyed Gallagher in his hey days and I thought Marc was patient until he pushed him. I love the podcast and happy Marc knew how he projected himself in this episode.
Love this podcast but Gallagher was hard
I freakin love this podcast but the Gallagher was very hard to listen to. I do think there was a lot of projecting. I would've walked out too. Love it otherwise but this was the wrong take. How is comedy supposed to exist these days? It won't be comedy.

Jeremy
Fantastic interview with Jeremy
Marc’s great as an inter player
He listens and has insightful thoughts and I know he’s truly interested in his guest. That’s why I listen to him my whole pregnancy.
Maron knows the art of the interview
Maron strikes the perfect balance between inquiry and listening as an interviewer. I love this show!
Ep. 1376 Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
Great interview Marc! I’m very glad that you challenged Mr. Gates on some of his views about black people. I’m a 53y/o AA woman & I generally find Mr. Gates will demonize black people when it’s convenient. However, he will defend his “non-racist” white friend(s)’ decision to vote for Trump. Also, it was interesting that he did not want to talk about his arrest. We are all aware of the incident, but I doubt that would have happened to a white professor. This interview re-affirmed my opinion of Mr. Gates. I hope you interview Howard W. French at some point.

The Ralph Macchio interview was awesome! Proud of this hometown boy. 😎
Why conversation is king
Listened to Marc for a while now and listening always helps me when I have something of my own going on. Marc has a brilliant way of getting his guests to open up and discuss their life and times without ever being overbearing. The Andrew Garfield episodes last 20 minutes was one of the most beautiful talks and turned into two people understanding their grief over the loss of their loved ones. It’s a beautiful podcast .
We doing this?
Marc is great. Love this dude
It’s all good.
Like I said it’s all good

The OG
Rogan could only dream to be this good. Great guests, big names, good interviews without prying on the private lives of famous people. It’s like two people just talking. Even when it comes to uncomfortable topics, he manages to be empathetic and navigate through it. (I found the Sharon van Etten episode a prime example of this).
Last Podcast Standing
This is the first podcast I signed up for. That was nearly six years ago, and since then I’ve listened to HUNDREDS of podcasts. For some reason or another I’ve failed to find anything close to the quality of this show. I wasn’t even a real Maron fan, but he intrigued me from the beginning. After the loss of his partner, I fell into a deep depression along with him. It triggered the loss I’d had in my life, but failed to deal with. Many of his guests are unknown to me, some of them only familiar because of Google searches. Not that it mattered, I always listened and found a little bit of content in each show that I could relate to. I learn something new every week. I listen to new music, search out artistic talents I’d never known, and for some reason I relate to Marc. Like a neighbor that I see take out his garbage and want to talk to but don’t want to come across as the weird middle aged woman who’s overly interested in random subjects. Safe space here. No judgement.
Thanks Mark
I have been sober for 20 years and it is nice to hear someone talk honestly about that journey and the interviews are great as well. Keep up the good work

Great interview ! Wow! A tad too much of interruption and no Bears convo? How ? Why?Loved it Marc!
What a Pro !
I love listening to Marc grind through this life just as many of us are . He exposes his heart and continues to reveal a bit more each episode to his audience through his conversations with his guests and his ramblings in his intros . This is a top notch use of this medium and it’s always one of my favorite ways to spend and hour .
Whitney Cummings
Never liked Whitney before this interview, now I want to give her a hug. Her vulnerability and honesty made likable, she could even be my friend. Big hugs to her. Marc brings the best out of people.
