Am highly discriminating—Lex is one of my two favs
As a business professor emerita and current psychotherapist/nutritionist/holistic health consultant in the DFW area, I love Lex’s podcasts. He’s old-school (my school) polite, intelligent, informed, and has a charming sense of humor. Lex, I loved your interviews with Stone and then Kotkin (the latter was astounding).
Great podcast that’s too long
1. Three hours is too long 2. The less interesting the guest is the longer they go. Otherwise really enjoyable but I usually stop listening about halfway
Lex or Larry King?
Or maybe a Charlie Rose.. or a Teri Gross… i don’t think people fully understand how much research you do to be a compelling broadcaster to your guests… super impressive! Keep up the good work!
Big Fan, but …
… please stop asking your guests “What is the Meaning of Life”. No-one really has any answers here. Often just a poor end to a great interview.
Amazing podcast
So many great and deep conversations. The episode with Glenn Lowery has to be one of the greatest.
Lex is the man
Great show but I wish they would add podcasting 2.0 tags so people can give value for value.
Lex is a great person, but….
He gets great guests. He’s earnest, honest, good natured and interested in a wide array of topics. Problems: (1) he clearly wants to have sex with/date a robot (I struggle with deciding if this is a problem) (2) he needs to retire the term “this dance” (3) one episode without any mention of elon musk and joe rogan would be a gift I’d pay for at this point (4) to continue that point, he gives musk and rogan the benefit of the doubt when they often don’t deserve it, especially rogan (5) he goes way too easy on guests, to the extent it seems he’s scared to offend them - based on the high quality of guests he manages to get, it seems there are some wasted opportunities to squeeze em a bit. As mentioned in the beginning of this review, he’s a hard guy to dislike. And though it’s neither here nor there, I hope he’s able to marry and make sweet love to a sexy robot not too far in the future. One positive (there are a few): He constantly mentions Earnest Becker’s “The Denial of Death,” which is one of the best books ever written. If you take issue with that, you probably are sexually attracted to robots.
Love his work
I think Lex’s podcast is one of the best. It took me a while to “get” him, mainly due to his monotone delivery. However, I have gotten used to him, and really appreciate the content. I am a medical doctor by profession, and find his content very informative and mind expanding.
Great Podcast
Lex is humble and playful in his questioning style. It is a great contrast to the seriousness of most of his topics. The people he interviews are top in their fields. He keeps them on their game. Definitely worth checking out. It’s not just about AI. Cheers
Amazing
Really enjoy these podcasts by Lex. High intellect conversations on so many subjects. Love it and highly recommend !
Loved Brett Johnson’s episode
By the end of the episode, I was in awe at how honest and admitting that human was. Great speaker, motivator and a thorough entertainer. Lex did a great job too asking pointed questions while appreciating the guy’s situation
My favourite podcast
This is definitely the absolute best podcast these days. I can’t listen to Joe Rogan anymore and his was the best podcast before he switched to Spotify exclusively (which I didn’t like), but I don’t really miss his podcast that much since this is such a worthy and amazing replacement. Also, Lex is rather lovable :)
Dr Karl Deisseroth
Wonderful interview. I am a psychiatrist and Dr Deisseroth is such a vast credit to the field, as a brilliantly researcher who also does clinical work. He’s helping science and humanity
Chris Blattman episode reveals the deepest hypocrisy
All great analysis until you two started talking about Russia/Ukraine. It’s the fight between autocracy vs. freedom. Right! How about the people who supplied weapons for the two to continue to fight and have more people killed? When two people starts fighting, a self-interested bystander gives one of the people two knives. The hands of the bystander are stained by blood too! Not to mention this bystander - NATO - instigated the fight in the first place to extend its own political interested knowingly full well that of the consequences would be completely shouldered by Russians, Ukrainians, Europeans and zero 0!!!by the bystander’s leader the USA. What great strategic maneuvers at nearly no costs and yet great gain in its own power interests and benefits. Yet the guest mentions nothing of all these. nothing to be surprised here because everyone in the West must conform to this line of thinking for being politically correct and fear of being ostracized. Here goes the so-called freedom of speech.
All you could ask from a podcast and then some
It’s wonderful when you find a podcast or more importantly a conversation from so many respected sources that can be so many things Succinct To the point Optimistic Plain English Informative Funny Meaningful Immeasurably consistent Time stamps - respects time Etc etc Dedication to the search for the truth in all it’s beauty, serenity and horror
Love Lex!
Genuine, open-minded interest in his guests leads to wonderful moments in the space that Lex provides. Keep on loving, Lex!
Great show but Lex sometimes makes me pause
I’ve been listening to Lex’s podcast for a little less than a year now, and I really enjoy it. Lately though, it feels like Lex is using it more and more to air his own beliefs and views, which is cool, but also comes at the cost of his guest. Maybe that’s just natural for a podcast host though, especially one who has made as many episodes as Lex.
Hope
Lex, thank you for having an open mind and being such a great listener. You analyze sometimes up to 10 minutes of your guest speaking, comprehend it, and put it into perspective perfectly on a macro scale. You are a great person and I pray that traditional media doesn’t try to censor you for telling the truth.
The best
One of the best podcast hosts out there. Unbiased, diverse and humble. Great guests.
The Way
Lex Fridman = Hope
One of the best podcasts on the platform
The Lex Fridmans podcast is not only interesting and insightful, but also deeply self reflective. This in conjunction with the unique combination of curiosity and humility make for a wonderful podcast.
Such a sensible podcast
Guests are genuine as well as the host Lex Fridman. Curiosity and love are walking hands in hands in thèse unusually beautiful discussions.
