Memories of St. John Paul II: Pope, friend and mentor

Chris Stefanick

He stood up to Communism on the world stage and delivered a witness of faith that changed the world.  As we honor St. John Paul II on his feast day,  watch my new episode that discusses his active role in toppling the Communist regime in Poland and beyond—with Divine Mercy as his secret weapon. St. John Paul II, pray for us!

Maximizing Technology in Today’s World

TECHNOLOGY TIMELINE

By using today’s technology, we commit to reach every soul across the Diocese of Charlotte, NC and Upstate SC.  In addition to Radio, we have expanded our CAROLINA CATHOLIC media platforms to include Video on our website, mobile app, Facebook/Instagram/X social media and YouTube channel.  We provide access to all our platforms through our weekly eNewsletters.

Our streaming technology allows us to access every computer and smartphone allowing us to significantly reduce projected capital expenditures.  This overcame the biggest single broadcast objection of “I can’t hear you.”  With 90% population reach by Smartphone the broadcast signal is not an issue. With compelling content the ears and eyes will come.

Redefining our Mission & Vision

WHERE WE GO FROM HERE…

CAROLINA CATHOLIC MEDIA offers a unique opportunity to reach the entire Local Catholic Community both registered Catholics, those in the pews on Sunday AND the vast flock of those who are not.   With 5 million people in the Charlotte Diocese and a Charlotte metro workday population increase of 20% (post pandemic) there is much room to grow with our outreach in the Vineyard of the Carolinas (3 dioceses - 15 million souls - 1.5 million Catholics).

During these tumultuous times where the world feels upside down, may we be guided by GOD’S love, mercy and grace.  May we grow in and be strengthened by our Catholic faith to reinvigorate our hope in and our love for GOD and for one another. May we truly be Instruments of His Peace by our actions and by our words… to feed the hungry, cloth the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the stranger AND the unwanted child, care for the ill and love our enemies.

CAROLINA CATHOLIC MEDIA looks forward to continuing providing you with ONE LOCAL CATHOLIC VOICE that truly reflects the MOSAIC OF MINISTRIES created by you for all our Carolina Catholics.  From the CRIB TO THE CROSS, may we always remember the REASON FOR EVERY SEASON!  PRAISE BE JESUS CHRIST, NOW AND FOREVER!  VIVA CRISTO REY!

Do “Right” and “Left” Belong in the Catholic Church?

Perhaps factions are inevitable or even necessary, as Paul conceded.

Father Kauth asked that some dirt that was moved to make room for the new chapel be added to the small hill located behind the construction site.  By raising this hill, Father created a great vantage point from which to survey progress.  Our general contractor, Edifice, is doing great, and the project is on time and on budget. You can follow along from the comfort of your home or office by visiting the construction cam HERE

The columns and beams have now been joined for 2/3 of the chapel, and studs are being added in addition to the inner roof.

Please pray for the safety of our construction workers.

We are blessed to have the Daughters of the Virgin Mother here at the seminary and in our diocese. The other day, Whitney Hetzel brought two members of the Sisters of Mary (https://worldvillages.org/), one of whom works in Tanzania and the other in Mexico, to meet with Mother Mary Raphael and the other sisters. It is always extra joyful when sisters visit with sisters. From left to right: Sr. Mary Agatha Rose, Sr. Mary Jacinta, Sr. Marilyn, Mother Mary Raphael, Sr. Margie Cheong, Whitney Hetzel, Christy George, and Sr. Mary Philomena. Please pray for all of our sisters and consider supporting their missions.

Traditionalists push Pope Leo to resurrect the Latin Mass:

The Latin Mass has become toxically politicized and is posing a test for Pope Leo XIV as traditionalists call on him to reverse restrictions imposed by Pope Francis.

Charlotte Latin Mass Community

The Charlotte Latin Mass Community, (CLMC) is a private association of the faithful as defined by Canon Law (Can. 299 §1 and Can. 215).  We are Catholic faithful in the Charlotte area who strive in a common endeavor to pass down the traditional Catholic Faith to our children and to worship through the traditional Latin Rite liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church. We subject ourselves in full docility to the authentic authority of our Bishop, His Excellency Michael Martin, and the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV; which is to protect and defend the Catholic faith and the sacred deposit of tradition. MORE
