IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Manifesting the Future of Carolina Catholic Media

It’s time to recognize our current and aspiring local Gen-Z Leaders.  They are all around us. You know them. Now we want to share their stories and perspectives.

Who do you want to sponsor to become part of our Carolina Catholic Media - Gen-Z Leadership Team.  Tell us who, their age, parish and contact info.

Friends, let me begin with one of my favorite football situations. It’s the 2-minute warning. We have the ball 1st & goal at the 10-yard line. A touchdown wins the game.

The new prospective owner of the radio station has agreed to keep AM1270 CAROLINA CATHOLIC RADIO on the air in Charlotte/Belmont/Gastonia based on our community scoring $3500 in monthly pledges by All Saints Day, November 1.  That’s any combination of 7 parishes/schools/ministries/businesses/families/individuals pledging $500 per month or $6000 annual.  That combination is what it will take to secure victory for the future of Carolina Catholic Radio/Digital Media in Charlotte!

From that point forward…

New ownership will appoint an all-Catholic Board of Directors and Officers.

New ownership supports our Youth Movement to GEN-Z Carolina Catholic Media 2.0.

Each participating parish and school will designate a GEN-Z Leadership Team to contribute content and/or tech support for Carolina Catholic’s 7 media platforms. I will personally oversee this initiative with our GEN-Z Leadership Team on a weekly basis.

New ownership supports all of our initiatives past, present and future including:

  1. Daily Mass from local parishes
  2. Homilies of the Week - Local Pastors
  3. Carolina Diocesan Parish/School/Ministry News
  4. Carolina Diocesan/Parish Events Calendar
  5. Catholic Grandparents Association - Charlotte Chapter*
  6. Diocesan Parish/School Concerts
  7. Catholic Movie Night promotions
  8. Carolina Diocesan Event Special Guest Speakers
  9. St. Joseph College Seminary News/Interviews
  10. Belmont Abbey Events, Belmont Abbey Sports Play by Play
  11.

*We are working closely with Teresa Sanctis (St. Ann) and Kathy Consler (St. Matthew) to grow the new Catholic Grandparents Association (Charlotte Chapter) across the diocese.  There is a logical, faith-based connection here for grandparents to connect their high school, college and post-grad age 20-29 grandkids with our GEN-Z Operations Initiative.  I have no doubt we can find a strong group of talented, aspiring, young media influencers. Based on how far legacy media has regressed in our secular “fake news” culture, this GEN-Z operations initiative cannot come at a better time to develop our future media leaders.

Please join us by making your fully tax-deductible monthly pledge today.

Served as a FOCUS missionary on campus.

FOCUS is an apostolate committed to fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission to make disciples of all nations - and this mission is carried out by missionary teams on college campuses across the country. After graduation Lauren made a 3-year commitment with FOCUS at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana serving the students, primarily student athletes at Nicholls.

“Mission has changed my outlook on what it means to be not only a Catholic, but a daughter of God, and my experience as a missionary has only further convicted me that the Gospel is meant for everyone and the Father’s love knows no bounds! After three years with FOCUS, I felt the Lord inviting me to a different mission field - back to the classroom. I discerned to move back to Charlotte, NC to be closer to family and friends. I accepted a teaching position at St. Mark Catholic School (my home parish) in Huntersville, NC where I am teaching 7th grade Math! I am excited and humbled to work with middle schoolers and be a witness to the joy of the Gospel. I look forward to connecting more Catholics across North Carolina!”

Maximizing Technology in Today’s World

TECHNOLOGY TIMELINE

By using today’s technology, we commit to reach every soul across the Diocese of Charlotte, NC and Upstate SC.  In addition to Radio, we have expanded our CAROLINA CATHOLIC media platforms to include Video on our website, mobile app, Facebook/Instagram/X social media and YouTube channel.  We provide access to all our platforms through our weekly eNewsletters.

Our streaming technology allows us to access every computer and smartphone allowing us to significantly reduce projected capital expenditures.  This overcame the biggest single broadcast objection of “I can’t hear you.”  With 90% population reach by Smartphone the broadcast signal is not an issue. With compelling content the ears and eyes will come.

Redefining our Mission & Vision

WHERE WE GO FROM HERE…

CAROLINA CATHOLIC MEDIA offers a unique opportunity to reach the entire Local Catholic Community both registered Catholics, those in the pews on Sunday AND the vast flock of those who are not.   With 5 million people in the Charlotte Diocese and a Charlotte metro workday population increase of 20% (post pandemic) there is much room to grow with our outreach in the Vineyard of the Carolinas (3 dioceses - 15 million souls - 1.5 million Catholics).

During these tumultuous times where the world feels upside down, may we be guided by GOD’S love, mercy and grace.  May we grow in and be strengthened by our Catholic faith to reinvigorate our hope in and our love for GOD and for one another. May we truly be Instruments of His Peace by our actions and by our words… to feed the hungry, cloth the naked, forgive the guilty, welcome the stranger AND the unwanted child, care for the ill and love our enemies.

CAROLINA CATHOLIC MEDIA looks forward to continuing providing you with ONE LOCAL CATHOLIC VOICE that truly reflects the MOSAIC OF MINISTRIES created by you for all our Carolina Catholics.  From the CRIB TO THE CROSS, may we always remember the REASON FOR EVERY SEASON!  PRAISE BE JESUS CHRIST, NOW AND FOREVER!  VIVA CRISTO REY!

Charlotte Latin Mass Community

The Charlotte Latin Mass Community, (CLMC) is a private association of the faithful as defined by Canon Law (Can. 299 §1 and Can. 215).  We are Catholic faithful in the Charlotte area who strive in a common endeavor to pass down the traditional Catholic Faith to our children and to worship through the traditional Latin Rite liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church. We subject ourselves in full docility to the authentic authority of our Bishop, His Excellency Michael Martin, and the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV; which is to protect and defend the Catholic faith and the sacred deposit of tradition. MORE

These are tough times to navigate. The Charlotte Latin Mass Community would like to make our position clear:
