In the United States, anxiety disorders are by far the most common and pervasive mental diseases. The amygdala, a brain area that assesses emotions and produces chemicals that control the fight-or-flight response, is in the epicenter of the action. Understanding anxiety disorders' origins, symptoms, and aggravating variables are the first step toward eliminating this undesirable habit.
