00:00:33.759 --> 00:00:36.079
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day.

00:00:36.320 --> 00:00:42.000
In a world that keeps shifting, this is where we return to what holds us steady.

00:00:42.240 --> 00:00:47.280
Let's begin today grounded, focused, and standing strong.

00:00:50.799 --> 00:00:52.799
Today is day twenty-three.

00:00:53.120 --> 00:00:54.960
You are secure in Christ.

00:00:55.200 --> 00:01:01.039
From John chapter 10, verse 28 and 29, from the New Living Translation.

00:01:01.760 --> 00:01:05.439
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish.

00:01:05.920 --> 00:01:13.840
No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else.

00:01:14.879 --> 00:01:21.599
There's something deeply comforting about knowing you're held, especially in a world that feels unstable.

00:01:22.079 --> 00:01:27.599
Jesus doesn't speak in maybes or possibilities here, he speaks with certainty.

00:01:27.920 --> 00:01:33.840
He says that you're secure in his hands, and nothing has the power to take you away from him.

00:01:34.640 --> 00:01:38.240
Just make sure you realize that that doesn't mean you can't leave.

00:01:38.560 --> 00:01:42.719
Of course, that is a devotion for another day.

00:01:43.120 --> 00:01:48.159
But standing strong in your identity means learning to rest in that security.

00:01:48.479 --> 00:01:54.400
If I'm honest though, fear has a way of creeping in when life feels unpredictable.

00:01:54.640 --> 00:02:02.000
Fear of failure, fear of falling short, fear of somehow losing what God has given.

00:02:02.719 --> 00:02:12.719
But this passage reminds me that my relationship with Christ isn't held together by my consistency, it's held together by his faithfulness.

00:02:13.120 --> 00:02:16.640
Although we must strive for holiness.

00:02:17.199 --> 00:02:19.360
We can't turn our back on him.

00:02:22.719 --> 00:02:25.039
But we can definitely reject him.

00:02:26.000 --> 00:02:29.199
Jesus doesn't say you hold on to him.

00:02:32.479 --> 00:02:34.159
Now that changes everything.

00:02:34.319 --> 00:02:37.599
It means your worst days don't cancel his grip.

00:02:37.840 --> 00:02:40.560
Your doubts don't overpower his strength.

00:02:40.800 --> 00:02:48.159
Even when you feel weak or distracted or unsure, you're still firmly held by the shepherd who knows you by name.

00:02:48.640 --> 00:02:53.760
Now that kind of security doesn't make us careless, it makes us confident.

00:02:54.480 --> 00:02:58.640
When you know you're safe, you stop living in survival mode.

00:02:58.800 --> 00:03:00.960
You start living with courage.

00:03:01.200 --> 00:03:03.360
You can take steps of faith.

00:03:03.520 --> 00:03:06.000
You can face hard conversations.

00:03:06.719 --> 00:03:11.439
You can walk forward without constantly looking over your shoulder.

00:03:12.000 --> 00:03:19.920
Life will still have uncertainty, but your place in Christ never does unless you want it to.

00:03:20.400 --> 00:03:30.480
Just remember, your faith in Christ, your belief in him, is not a license to just go and sin.

00:03:31.680 --> 00:03:34.080
You still have to strive for holiness.

00:03:34.159 --> 00:03:37.360
You still have to obey his commands.

00:03:37.680 --> 00:03:40.400
Believing in Christ means doing what he says.

00:03:40.480 --> 00:03:47.120
It's not just a brain thing where, well, I believe you lived and now I'm headed straight for heaven.

00:03:47.360 --> 00:03:49.439
It's not what I'm trying to say here.

00:03:50.560 --> 00:03:52.960
God holds on to you securely.

00:03:53.599 --> 00:03:55.520
How hard are you holding on?

00:03:56.800 --> 00:03:58.159
Let's pray.

00:03:58.560 --> 00:04:01.280
Jesus, thank you for holding me securely.

00:04:01.680 --> 00:04:06.240
When fear tries to shake my confidence, remind me that I'm safe in your hands.

00:04:06.480 --> 00:04:12.159
Help me to live with peace, knowing that nothing can separate me from you.

00:04:12.800 --> 00:04:15.200
In Jesus' name, amen.

00:04:16.560 --> 00:04:22.480
Today, write down John 10, 28 through 29 and put it somewhere whether you're going to see it a lot.

00:04:22.639 --> 00:04:27.839
And every time you notice it, pause and thank God for the security that you have in Christ.

00:04:28.319 --> 00:04:28.639
Okay?

00:04:29.519 --> 00:04:31.040
See you tomorrow.

00:04:32.240 --> 00:04:41.120
Wisdom for the Day is produced by Lauren King, recorded at the Upper Room Studios with intro and outro music by Weston McCurry.

00:04:41.360 --> 00:04:42.800

00:04:45.360 --> 00:04:50.399
Thanks for spending these moments with me today on Wisdom for the Day Standing Strong.

00:04:50.639 --> 00:04:53.759
If this encouraged you, don't keep it to yourself.
