00:00:34.160 --> 00:00:39.679
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:39.920 --> 00:00:40.880
I'm Rick.

00:00:41.039 --> 00:00:46.000
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:46.240 --> 00:00:49.760
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom.

00:00:50.000 --> 00:00:51.679
Ready to feel inspired?

00:00:51.920 --> 00:00:53.519
Let's get started.

00:00:54.799 --> 00:00:57.120
Today is day 18.

00:00:57.600 --> 00:00:59.920
A new, new hope.

00:01:00.159 --> 00:01:06.319
Reading from 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 3 from the New Living Translation.

00:01:07.680 --> 00:01:14.240
He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

00:01:16.240 --> 00:01:17.920
Let me ask you something.

00:01:18.240 --> 00:01:20.719
Are you feeling without hope?

00:01:21.039 --> 00:01:24.640
It's easy to lose hope in struggles of everyday life.

00:01:25.200 --> 00:01:26.960
Months of unemployment?

00:01:27.200 --> 00:01:28.079
Been there.

00:01:28.719 --> 00:01:30.960
Years of battling illness?

00:01:31.439 --> 00:01:32.719
Kind of been there.

00:01:33.280 --> 00:01:35.200
Constant family arguments?

00:01:35.520 --> 00:01:36.319
Been there.

00:01:37.199 --> 00:01:42.719
Or a long prison sentence can drain our hope and leave us feeling lost about the future.

00:01:42.960 --> 00:01:47.120
In the face of these hardships, the Apostle Peter speaks of hope.

00:01:47.439 --> 00:01:49.520
Jesus has risen from the dead.

00:01:49.759 --> 00:01:52.560
Well, this doesn't mean that all of our suffering will vanish.

00:01:52.719 --> 00:01:59.599
Just as Jesus' sufferings led to resurrection, so too will our trials be followed by glory.

00:02:00.080 --> 00:02:04.000
Through Jesus, God has given believers a living hope.

00:02:04.240 --> 00:02:12.159
Now we often place our hope in things that can't sustain us, like a new job, more education, or even a new year.

00:02:12.479 --> 00:02:16.000
But Jesus isn't lifeless, he is alive.

00:02:16.319 --> 00:02:26.479
And in him we have an inheritance and a constant source of strength, because our hope comes from someone who's conquered death and is eternally alive.

00:02:27.199 --> 00:02:32.240
The best news of all is that God has given us true hope.

00:02:32.479 --> 00:02:35.680
We're not trapped by our sins or circumstances.

00:02:36.159 --> 00:02:43.040
Jesus has the power to take our dying expectations and replace them with a living, vibrant hope.

00:02:43.360 --> 00:02:46.159
Are you living with hope in Christ?

00:02:46.400 --> 00:02:48.560
Through his strength, you can.

00:02:49.280 --> 00:02:50.640
Let's pray.

00:02:51.520 --> 00:02:56.159
Living Father God, we praise you for the gift of hope.

00:02:56.480 --> 00:03:05.920
May the life of the risen Christ inspire us to hope and inspire us to confidence today, even in the middle of our struggles.

00:03:06.159 --> 00:03:08.560
In Jesus' precious name I pray.

00:03:08.879 --> 00:03:09.520
Amen.

00:03:11.840 --> 00:03:13.920
Well, that's all for today.

00:03:14.240 --> 00:03:17.520
But I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's Word.

00:03:48.320 --> 00:03:49.280
I love you.
