00:00:34.160 --> 00:00:39.679
Welcome to Wisdom for the Day, your daily source for spiritual refreshment and guidance.

00:00:39.920 --> 00:00:40.880
I'm Rick.

00:00:41.039 --> 00:00:46.000
Join me as I dive into God's Word to find clarity and strength for life's challenges.

00:00:46.240 --> 00:00:49.760
Let me help you embrace each day with faith and wisdom.

00:00:50.000 --> 00:00:51.679
Ready to feel inspired?

00:00:51.920 --> 00:00:53.519
Let's get started.

00:00:55.760 --> 00:00:57.920
Today is day 17.

00:00:58.400 --> 00:01:00.159
A new resurrection.

00:01:00.400 --> 00:01:06.640
Reading from 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verse 20, from the New Living Translation.

00:01:07.039 --> 00:01:13.599
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.

00:01:14.400 --> 00:01:25.200
The new year often inspires us to make resolutions to change, breaking old habits, forming new relationships, looking at life with a fresh perspective.

00:01:25.520 --> 00:01:30.800
The gospel, however, it offers something far deeper and more lasting.

00:01:31.280 --> 00:01:33.120
New life in Christ.

00:01:33.439 --> 00:01:37.280
The earliest Christians proclaimed this truth repeatedly.

00:01:39.919 --> 00:01:47.360
Because Jesus conquered death and rose to a new life, we too can experience a new life in him.

00:01:47.919 --> 00:01:51.520
Now all who believe in Christ receive the promise of eternal life.

00:01:51.759 --> 00:01:57.280
And that new life springs immediately through the power of Christ's Spirit dwelling within us.

00:01:57.759 --> 00:02:03.840
When we place our faith in Jesus, our life here on earth takes on new meaning.

00:02:04.159 --> 00:02:08.240
And we come to realize that what we do now matters.

00:02:08.479 --> 00:02:12.719
And Christ's Spirit leads us to live according to God's way.

00:02:13.520 --> 00:02:20.800
Christ transforms our imperfect efforts, using them to bring about good, both in the present and for eternity.

00:02:21.439 --> 00:02:28.159
Our hope in Christ isn't about just improving life in the here and now, because Jesus is alive.

00:02:28.400 --> 00:02:31.759
We have confidence that he will also heal and restore us.

00:02:32.000 --> 00:02:36.479
Our sins, our weaknesses, even our physical bodies.

00:02:36.800 --> 00:02:48.480
And though our bodies may one day die, we trust that our souls will live with him, and that on that final day he'll raise our bodies from the grave just as he was raised.

00:02:48.879 --> 00:02:56.240
Repentance and faith in Jesus bring something truly new: resurrection and eternal life through him.

00:02:56.960 --> 00:02:58.320
Pray with me.

00:02:58.960 --> 00:03:00.159
Thank you, God.

00:03:00.480 --> 00:03:06.400
You have given us the victory through Jesus Christ so that death no longer has power over us.

00:03:06.879 --> 00:03:10.159
Show us the strength to live through you today.

00:03:10.400 --> 00:03:12.240
In Jesus' precious name.

00:03:12.560 --> 00:03:13.200
Amen.

00:03:14.320 --> 00:03:16.400
Well, that's all for today.

00:03:16.640 --> 00:03:19.680
But I'll be back tomorrow with more of God's word.
