By Adopting a workshop, you will allow us an opportunity to provide our intergenerational podcast workshop to older adults as we seek to provide digital inclusion training through the art of "Finding Your Voice".
Our work with older adults has been enriching and life-affirming, to say the least. We start by providing a free copy of our book, The Colors of Sound Podcast Planner and Journal", so that participants can take notes and stay on track as we move through the process of teaching the art of storytelling through podcasting. (listen to some of our "SAGE USA" podcasts to hear how phenomenal the participants are at owning the conversation).
These workshops are only 1 hour, 1 day per week, but the benefits are invaluable. The mentorship, community oneness, development of ideas, critical thinking skills, and overall feeling of success that they get from participating in the process have uncovered many hidden talents and lifelong passions that fit easily on anyone's bucket list.
During the process of recording, the participants learn how to set up the equipment based on color coding. We keep it simple: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue. If you put all of the items together that have red tape, you are ready for our recorded conversation. Same for all colors. The participants are even taken through the proper way to plan for a season of episodes, where they choose the topics, pick the guests, and co-host the episodes.
This has been one of the most fulfilling things that I have ever been a part of. Your donation can help this continue and can help our older adults continue to engage with younger adults and have conversations that bring understanding, mentorship, and laughter to the forefront.
