Great Show!!

Those Guys Over There is a podcast produced by a group of 5 men in their early 30s sharing their opinions roundtable style. Think something like the View with less nonsense. Their episodes feature discussions on societal and cultural issues from a comedic, happy hour perspective with their friendship as the core.

The show starts off with great music and each of the hosts (Jeff, Tim, Phil, DeGraft and Tom) each introduce themselves and the first topic and they are off and running.

They had a series of topics that have come up in the news over the previous week and they’ll discuss them. Since it’s an organic conversation (aka the happy hour perspective), there’s no telling where the conversation will go. I really like this because there is clearly no “agenda” other than letting their opinions be known, and I learn something each show.

The structure is pretty loose. They’ll start with the first topic and discuss until they are done and then move to the next topic. The flow is tight. It is exactly as it says on the tin a simple conversation among friends that the audience can sit in on. I can only imagine what these conversations were like before they had microphones in front of their faces. Probably the same except now they have evidence to go back to.

There are a lot of roundtable shows like this in the podcast universe. What makes each one of them different is what they bring to the table and this show brings it’s own perspective to the table and I’m here for it.

For a podcast that will give you a different point of view and a chance to laugh, check out Those Guys Over There.
