The new Tenacity and Wisdom of Steve Barton episode might be one of the strongest things Jerry Horror has put out. I’ve listened to The Offering for a while, but this one hit different. Hearing Steve Barton (Dread Central's Uncle Creepy himself) open up about his career, the loss, the mentorships, and all the behind-the-scenes scars of horror journalism felt honest in a way most podcasts never pull off.
The Terrifier discussion was intense, too. Jerry gave Steve the space to lay everything out clearly and honestly. Steve didn’t hold back about standing firmly with Catherine Corcoran as she takes legal action against the Terrifier team. It was the kind of conversation you almost never get to hear from someone who helped push that franchise into the spotlight.
Compared to the other shows I listen to (Post Mortem, Colors of the Dark, and a few others) Jerry’s style feels more personal and grounded. It’s like listening to a real conversation instead of something overly produced or rehearsed.
If you care about horror history, indie filmmaking, or the people behind the scenes, this episode is absolutely worth your time. Team Barton and Team Corcoran all the way.
