AFTERWORDS: Beyond the Screen with Visionary Larry Fessenden
Truth be told, Larry Fessenden is one of my heroes. I had to play cool not to let on when we met for the interview. In my eyes, he’s the New York Roger Corman and John Cassavetes rolled into one. He has a living breathing testament to film history. I could’ve interviewed him for about five or six days straight. If you’ve listened to the episode, you know just how much the man has experienced and seen the film world changed since he began in the 80’s. It was truly an honor.
I am fully aware that most people don’t even know about The Offering. However for one shining moment, I felt like the horror film community a had a cold shiver down their spine. Here I am interviewing this elder statesman of cinema and it definitely helped put the show on another level. It was also able to show the audience, as well as the general public, that I could interview anyone. It gave me a lot of confidence and even Larry told me that I knew my shit. I had been waiting for that moment a long time.
The sleepless nights, the manic episodes and watching way too many fucking movies had paid off. Why? Because Larry Fessenden said so and no one can ever deny me that.
Thank you Larry.

AFTERWORD: RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (1985)

I don’t think anything can ever top Linnea Quigley dancing naked in a cemete…
AFTERWORDS: SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE II (1987)
Horror comedy really is a difficult genre. You either really nail it, like Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive or Edgar Wright’s Shaun of the Dead, or you fall flat on your face. Personally, I love Dead Heat with Treat Williams (R.I.P.) and Joe P…
