Behind the Scenes (2026 season)
Dear all,
This blog post will read more like a diary for two reasons: First, to remind me that I do in fact move along and create some progress within the walls of my squirrel brain. Second, well I think it's amazing the amount of love and work that goes into creating a podcast, so I thought I'd bring you along.
November 3rd, 2025
I began podcasting in 2022 and since then there hasn't been a true rhythm to the creation of episodes, I always just went with my gut. Then I began appearing on other podcasts and it felt great to share our story. I think now I have been a guest on 18 or so podcasts and you can listen to them here.
But right around August 2025 I started to feel how much I was actually avoiding the editing of my own work and I was truly questioning if it was worth it. I also felt that I was in a constant emotional low that I couldn't get out of. So I just stopped. I traveled to México to see my sister, I focused in journaling and trying to bring my feelings out into the open and I found safety in being at home with my partner and children. The socials and internet felt empty and like a big open space that caused more anxiety than pleasure. It's worth mentioning that I also found immense peace in reading, so much that I joined a local Silent Book Club as well as an online writing club. All of that to pull the string of feelings that were ruminating inside my soul.
Then I started to feel like my podcasting journey had come to an end. It took a few days for me to acknowledge that but one night before I went to bed I asked the question. I asked God, Source and my Divine team if that was it. I asked, out loud, if that was the end of this journey with The Unschooling Lifestyle and I went to bed.
The next morning I went about my day but within the day they were short experiences that felt divine and it was the answer to my question—I wasn't done. And with renewed energy I got back to the drawing board with a lot more certainty about the next season and what I want to bring to my listeners.
This next season is about sharing what is possible if you make a choice that serves you and your children. Simple and to the point. As you know, I love Human Design and it's inevitably linked to my knowledge and journey through HD and the fears and triumphs of choosing different. For my boys but also for me.

After having those realizations and waiting (hello emotional authority) for 80% clarity I knew it was time to get started. I decided to ask for feedback in the form of a Google form about the three topics my work is centered around—Human Design, Unschooling and Worldschooling. The form was posted on several groups and I got 9 responses. It doesn't sound like a lot but I am grateful for the feedback I received. Then I tally the results and ran it through AI (yes, I use AI to help me move along) and it came up with a solid plan for the season. But I had a specific way of doing it in mind, so I adjusted accordingly and I began adding them to my Trello board which I absolutely love. This process is very different but I find joy in the experimentation of it all and even this blog post serves as a reflection of what will be learned and what will be included in future sessions too.

The form, AI and my vision all came together in a very concise type of way. 10 episodes, 6 solo and 4 guests. Simple and straight to the point for the families seeking a starting point. This is it and what I wished I had when we started.
Here is the screenshot of my Trello board to keep me organized and accountable.

I began activating and changing the branding of our podcast but it didn't happen overnight. Here is the story of how that came to be.
I also signed up for Podpage which had been on my list for a few months too, I just wasn't sure. But here is our very first blog post and working on other details.
Sometime in April or May of this year (before my burnout and emotional low) I began working with Jennifer Fortin from Silver Fern Creativese on a rebrand. Since 2021 this is one of my biggest investments financially but also one that took time and if you know anything about me I can change my mind in the blink of an eye. So, naturally I was scared to this commitment. But Jennifer, who is a Projector, took the time to ask the questions and gave the space to think and share what was in my heart. And it comes down to wanting a life of freedom for myself, my children, my family but also for everyone else. And the way I do this is by showing you what is on the other side of what we know to be the norm.
Alongside Jennifer I also worked with Casey Marriot, a Human Design powerhouse and the creator behind the Self-Activation Academy. Casey helped me dig deeper into my feelings of scarcity and gave me choices that could be a good fit for me based on my HD. Casey's ability to see where the work is helped me tune into my body and to address some truth that I had been avoiding for some time.
In addition to Jennifer and Casey, my Human Design communities have been a constant since 2021. I have learned from Erin Claire Jones, Katie Irvine, Tresa Rivera and most recently from Sophie Dubus. Sophie was also a guest on our podcast and we talked all about HD and why it's incredibly helpful in raising children.

My last call with Casie Marriot was about a week or so ago and I shared about my whole big podcast season and she saw right through me on avoiding just getting started. So I decided to experiment with shorter episodes and leave the procrastination behind. The result? well, I think it's going well because in addition to shorter episodes I'm leaning into connecting my heart/experience with my throat vs having my mind (and what I think I should say) connected with my throat.
So this first shorter episode was set to publish on 11/21 but somehow made it on 11/20. I did both video and audio but the one coming out today will be just audio as I take time to audit my YT channel to find strategies to grow and create some income streams from that. This last piece can be challenging but the new changes in different platforms calls for different ways to connect with people but also to find the platform that best suits your audience. So the next few days I will audit the channel and ask a friend of mine, who is a successful YouTuber, to support our channel with some of her guidance. Here is our channel in case you want to check it out!
