Prime Minister Mark Carney is in China, where he will first meet with the PRC's number two and three today, ahead of a one-on-one with his counterpart, President Xi Jinping, tomorrow.
It has also been recently announced that he will visit India (where B.C. Premier David Eby is currently on a trade mission).
But recent interventions from the RCMP on India, Doug Ford on EVs from China, Coastal First Nations — and, of course, IQ47, who can't help but insert himself everywhere, in order to pull focus — have landed like tiny anti-trade grenades, thus making this trip more complex as it seems that no matter what is announced, the Prime Minister is indeed going to have to disappoint someone.
