"Relax. Be Kind." - Peter Russell on Presence, Letting Go, and the Inner Work of Leadership

Peter Russell has spent more than fifty years at the intersection of science, consciousness, and the revolution that's happening inside the human mind. He studied theoretical physics at Cambridge - with Dr Stephen Hawkins as his supervisor, then travelled to India to study meditation under some of its greatest teachers, and came home to take up the first research post Britain had ever offered on the psychology of meditation. His books, including The Global Brain, Letting Go of Nothing, and his most recent, How to Meditate Without Even Trying, have shaped how thousands of people think about awareness, presence, and what it means to live well.

In this conversation, we explore what leadership means when you strip away the performance, the hierarchy, and the ego. Peter talks about the difference between self-belief and ego, why forgiveness is one of the most underrated leadership practices, and what "letting go" really means when you have shareholders, a board, and a team depending on you. We talk about the monkey mind, the default mode network, exponential change, and why spirituality is not just compatible with business — it may be absolutely necessary for it.

Peter also guides us through a short meditation, live on the show.

His closing words: "Relax. Be kind.”
