NBA Opening Night Recap: KD’s Costly Miss, OKC in Double OT, and the Lakers Fall Short by 10
NBA Opening Night was WILD!
The OKC Thunder went into double overtime on ring night after Kevin Durant missed the free throw that could’ve made it a 3-point game. KD and Sengun hit clutch shots, but those late free-throw misses flipped the script in OT.
Then it’s Lakers vs. Warriors — no LeBron, and it showed. Deandre Ayton struggled from the line, Marcus Smart couldn’t stay out of foul trouble, and the Warriors took over the 3rd quarter to build an 11-point lead heading into the 4th.
The Lakers went on a quick 9-0 run, but still came up short — losing by 10 to open the season.
Plus: Jimmy Butler quietly dropped 15 of 16 from the free-throw line. Opening Night already looks like it’s setting the tone for a crazy NBA season.
