THE PARABLE’S ALLEGORY — PROMO TRAILER

[The Narrator flips through the pages of a book.]

[A page is left open, bringing with it the sounds of a train station.]

NARRATOR: You’re listening to—

[The distinct blare of a train horn echoes.]

NARRATOR: You’re listening. . . No, no, no. . .

[The soundscape stops. He flips through a few more pages.]

[Another page is left open. We hear faint TV static and the echoes of a classic sitcom.]

NARRATOR: You’re listening to. . .

NARRATOR: (whispering to himself) You’re listening to. . .

[The TV channel changes. We now hear what seems to be a slasher film, complete with a set of terrified screams.]

NARRATOR: You’re listening to. . . You’re listening to— 

[He notices the change in channel.]

NARRATOR: (rushed) You’re listening to—! 

NARRATOR: (annoyed) . . . Really?

[He flips through some more pages.]

[A final page is left open. We hear distorted music, each of its notes are distorted and reversed. We also faintly hear the sounds of a woodland forest.]

NARRATOR: You’re. . . You’re. . . You’re. . .

NARRATOR: Mm. . . No. . . No, it’s just— It’s just not the same, now is it?

[Suddenly, a knock on the door. The music abruptly stops.]

LIBRARIAN: (through the door) You alright in there?

NARRATOR: (he sighs) . . . Come in. Sorry, I. . .

[The door swings open.]

LIBRARIAN: I found some people. . . For the roles you’re looking for, I mean. . .

LIBRARIAN: They’re waiting for you downstairs. 

NARRATOR: Ah! In that case—!

[He gets up from his chair, then claps his hands together.]

NARRATOR: We don't want to keep them waiting, do we?

[The Narrator promptly makes his way out of the room.]

[We’re left in the silence until we hear the still lingering sounds of woodland birdsong in the background.]

[Some papers are scrounged about by the Librarian. The distorted music returns, much darker now.]

LIBRARIAN: (imitating the Narrator) The Parable's Allegory is an abstract horror audio drama about six individuals that find themselves trapped within an otherworldly library, and the Narrator that tells you of the echoes of past stories they've lived—and the endings they'll have to face. Stories of inevitability, defiance, hauntings, and hope—however that may mean for each of them.
