We talk about the concept of the Melting Pot in American society and the role of the Melting Pot in "Sam in New York." We also discuss the character of Katya Luneva in "Sam in New York." Katya is one of Sam's potential love interests and unlike Sam (who was born in America to immigrant parents), she is an immigrant herself. We learn more about her personality in this episode and about how and why she and Sam become interested in one another.
