EP 101: Literary Fiction and Characters - with @tete.depunk

Merry Christmas! šŸŽ„

One of our Christmas gifts to you this year is a series of FULL podcasts we are releasing on Instagram (and on the other usual platforms)!

The first podcast is about #literaryfiction and how some of these books can help us determine the voice of a character. We talk about Romantic authors like Herman Melville, Jules Verne, Soren Kierkegaard, and modern authors like Philip Roth and William Faulkner.

Works discussed include:
- "Moby Dick" by Melville šŸ³
- "Around the World in 80 Days" by Verne
- "Diary of a Seducer" by Kierkegaard
- "Portnoy's Complaint," "Operation Shylock," and "The Counterlife" by Roth
- "The Sound and the Fury" by Faulkner

We include quotes from some of these works and talk about how we can hear the charactersā€™ voices through these works. We also had a blast talking about why @tete.depunk didnā€™t like one of my faves, The Counterlife. Iā€™ll admit, itā€™s an acquired taste!
