"Shedeur Sanders: Perfect Timing"

"Shedeur Sanders: Perfect Timing"

As the old saying goes: "timing is everything, patience is a virtue." It was
beyond "time" to make a change in Cleveland; as the Browns gave
rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders his first start of the season. All the
talks of sticking with fellow rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who ended
up in concussion protocol. Sanders knew it was his moment and make it
happen. There was no turning back as football fans were exciting and
rooting for him.

In his debut, Sanders went 11/20; 209 passing yards with 1 touchdown
and interception as Cleveland trounced the Las Vegas Raiders en route
to a 24-10 victory. Improving their record to 3-8; with plenty of football
left to go. For Sanders, it was more than just playing on Sunday; the
time to prove every national media pundit wrong by smearing his name.
Rather it was during the NFL Draft process, training camp, even his
mum remarks a few weeks ago.

It was a moment of saying: "I'm him and always have been. Nothing
phases me." Being the son of an NFL Hall of Fame player in Deion
Sanders, there was hidden agendas. Sanders' poise, maturity and
leadership led up to this week. What Browns fans hoped for in Sanders
gives them a new outlook. It wasn't a pretty debut, but for a fifth round
pick who could've went in the first round in this year draft came with
scrutiny.
All season, Browns fans have voiced their distain for head coach Kevin
Stefanski in how he handled this whole process. Avoiding answering
questions about Sanders' overall body of work; while sticking up for
Gabriel. When pressure started to mount, pipes broke and it was time to
see how much of a spark could ignite a struggling team.
There's a lot to like about Sanders' debut; as he escaped pressure for a
nice pass to his receiver downfield to set-up their second score. Energy

shifted and this team fed off their young rookie quarterback. With the
Browns defense racking up ten sacks on Las Vegas Raiders
quarterback Geno Smith, this was poetic justice of what could've been
earlier in the season. Stefanski's ego and pride hindered this team; as
Cleveland sports radio hosts screamed for Sanders' playing time.

In the grand scheme of things, what Browns fans witnessed is what
football fans said prior: "Shedeur Sanders is tough as nails and deadly
accurate. Kid competes and won't give up; a guy who can lead and
revive this quarterback hungry franchise. A youth movement with plenty
of veterans who'll embrace change to win right now. Stefanski is the
problem which has derailed any type of success; but his borrowed time
is up. Even if the Browns win five of their next six games, he's likely
fired at season's end.

Now that Sanders has ignited this team, he can vastly improve and earn
trust among teammates. Browns fans may have their long overdue
franchise quarterback and every right to believe in Sanders' leadership
to match his tangibles. With his father sitting in a suite, past and present
"time" were all smiles. Sky's the limit for Sanders and more football to
be played. After his first start, there's reason to hope Cleveland can win
some games and possibly sneak into the playoffs. It's not out of reach,
but with Sanders under center, you gotta believe and let him lead the
way.
