"New York, In The Knick Of Time!"

As the final seconds ran down Saturday night, there was a big sigh of
relief. Years of confusion, misdirection, misery, heated moments of
being a laughing stock. All of those emotions were set free into the
Atlantic Ocean and set sail elsewhere. A long time in the making, the
New York Knicks are finally NBA Champions. Yes, you read it correctly
as much fans are still partying and taking every moment without a
shadow of doubt.

A franchise haunted by many failed years of disappointment, this
version of New York was built to win now. Trading away every first round
pick to build a contender. Head coaching change took place in hiring
Mike Brown and kept the same roster in tact. Ripples of greatness
followed by shallow losses midway through the season, this team didn't
flinch. The noise grew louder if New York was remotely close to
competing for a championship.

Nobody in sports believed this would happen; meaning the Knicks
running through a semi modest Eastern Conference. A win streak of
eleven games until losing game three in the Finals, no turning back.
Finishing the job while staying poised in accomplishing a journey started
in October. New York didn't flinch, run and hide; yet showed resilience in
why they were the better team. It's not by coincidence, but with grit,
grind, cohesiveness, and guys playing their role.

Game four was the dagger of this series; coming back from twenty-nine
points and having one of the more iconic moments in NBA Finals
history. This team was built different and an identity became fearsome.
A delivery of "we're not going away quietly," while staying humble and

even keeled. That game alone sealed New York's willingness to keep
fighting.

A roster with Finals MVP Jalen Brunson is where the story begins.
Arriving in New York upon leaving Dallas, sacrificing supermax money
and giving the franchise a hometown discount. Leaving money on the
table to make moves and going for it now. Brunson could've easily took
a $300 million dollar extension, but chose to take less than market
value. It was a critical move far as sports pundits viewed it and
questioned why.

He understood the direction New York was going and doing this type of
deal opened many doors to trade picks and fill the roster with depth.
With Karl Anthony-Towns' future being questions of concerns, he played
well in this playoff run. Being a facilitator and doing what was asked of
him. Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, all of these guys gelled at
the right time. Even in a loss, body language didn't change by the way.

I want to give head coach Mike Brown his flowers for the job he
accomplished in year one. Years of being solid but not great even with
subpar rosters, this meant a lot to him as well. From being an assistant
under former head coach Gregg Popovich, leading the Cavs to success
and having to reinvent himself, this was Brown's defining moment.

Fifty-three years of starving and watching other teams win
championships, New York Knicks fans can sleep even better after
Saturday night. A city of die-hard fans who supported the team even
with James Dolan's foolery and distain for legendary players. 2026
roster will live as the "greatest team of all-time" in Knicks franchise
history. There's no denying what they witnessed and a lot of momentum
going into 2027.

We end this season with the New York Knicks being crowned NBA
Champions. A full season of unknown with legendary teams and players
making a name for themselves. IF 2027 is filled with excitement, I know
Knicks fans will be ready for banner night come October. A season they
won't forget and tell future fans along the way. If you can believe, it can
be achieved no matter the obstacles. Congratulations to New York, you
done it in the Knick of time.
