"New England Patriots: A Sunday Night Football Statement Win"

"New England Patriots: A Sunday Night Football Statement Win"

Divisional game matchups bring out the best in tooth and nail, tick for
tack madness. For New England, the Patriots haven't been successful
upon Tom Brady's exile in 2020. On Sunday night, the vibes and overall
aura felt alive. New England defeated the lone team who hadn't lost in
Buffalo. A 23-20 road win in a hostile environment; as the Patriots made
a statement.

Second year quarterback Drake Maye has been pretty good, but not
real flashy. Making strides in New England comes with a lot of pressure
from the media, fans and former players who worn the Patriots
uniforms. Head coach Mike Vrabel is a legend and coaching his former
team comes with higher expectations. Maye isn't Tom Brady, but his
speed of the game is undeniable.

In what felt like a blowout, New England nearly beat themselves with
thirty yards of penalties midway through the fourth quarter. Two costly
personal fouls would make any coach lose their ever-loving minds.
Credit the Patriots for not letting it lower their morale in keeping the Bills
at bay. Even with the defense keeping it close, it fell on Maye's
shoulders to put it out of reach.

A homecoming of sorts for Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who
spent four seasons in Buffalo came back to burn his former team.
Showcasing he's still a dominant player at this advanced stage of his
career. Even with the bright lights and nationally televised game, which
hadn't gave fans much to cheer about, this game gave fans hope. A big
win over a team who's won the division every year since 2020.

New England has found their franchise quarterback in Maye, a former
player turned head coach who understands what it means to be a New
England Patriot. Team who'll claw, fight and give their all no matter what.
Patriots fans have waited for a new wave of talent to restore order and
this big win should kickstart a playoff team. In a very much wide open
AFC, can they win ten games and secure a spot as the sixth seed?

To Buffalo, the last undefeated team going into Sunday night's matchup
was overwhelming disappointed. Reigning MVP Josh Allen had his
flash, but turning the ball over was right on cue. We've criticized Allen
for his turnovers and he's been able to fix them. In a divisional
showdown, the room for error is very small. Even though Buffalo had
those penalties which gave them field position, it was more than enough
to attempt staying afloat.

Buffalo is still a juggernaut in the AFC and will regroup for bigger games
later in the season. It's these type of games when your superstars must
play their best and rotation players need impact in completing the game.
Football is a sport of margins and trenches; meaning the least amount
of errors, a stronger chance to win during the toughest series of
finishing strong.

Have the New England Patriots given opponents a blueprint in stopping
Buffalo? Or was this a game of no matter what, the best quarterback left
standing will lead his team to a divisional victory? In all truthfulness,
New England should've lost this game but playing aggressive when it
matters pays off.
