"Los Angeles Clippers: The Kawhi Leonard Era Is Over"

Once upon a time back in 2020 right before the world stopped,
everyone fell head over heels in love with a franchise who didn't amount
to much. Just another team in Southern California to fill seats for
primetime games. A team whose big brother owns the city and fans
across the globe. Yes, that other team in Los Angeles not named
"Lakers" but Clippers. Oh the sports media rushed to kiss and anoint a
franchise who hadn't won a single title.

The comedy writes itself folks... Remember the 2020 NBA Playoffs in
Orlando, Florida? 3-1 lead on the Denver Nuggets and destined to "win"
the championship in spite of big brother LA Lakers having the more
meshed roster? Oh... That blew up big time huh? Failed expectations
and misery across "Clippers nation" as the anointed savior Kawhi
Leonard and Paul George didn't deliver. Excuses piled up and led to
former head coach Doc Rivers being fired.

I can write a fictional novel on the little brother Clippers but today's not
the day! As this team failed to reach an NBA Finals in Leonard's tenure,
it's been a failure by all means. Owner Steve Ballmer sacrificed his
future picks to win a title; only to be hoodwinked and sold on false hope.
Only bold stat: (1) western conference finals appearance in 2021 minus
Leonard. Trading away draft picks to Oklahoma City Thunder for Paul
George...

Now, here's the funny part: with the Clippers loss during a play-in game,
OKC owns the first round pick in 2026. Which can allow them to strike
gold and draft one of the top players in the NBA Draft. You see, there's
levels to this and fans who watch basketball said then: "If this doesn't
work and the Clippers don't win a title, those picks will be detrimental."

No title, draft picks, bad contracts, adversity, controversy, all awhile
scandal lurks within the organization.

As the future looks very murky, Leonard's tenure in LA has been a
failure. Rightfully so in part of Ballmer moving every asset and giving
him free rein to do whatever. Even investing money to a start-up
company, which remains an open investigation fluctuating the salary
cap. Leonard's kept mum about his involvement; while agent Uncle
Dennis has done more harm than good for his nephew.

Uncle Dennis was making moves like he's a super agent; no affiliation
with other players or owning an agency. He negotiated Leonard's
contracts, while adding amenities to family members. The media
dislikes Klutch Sports super agent Rich Paul and LeBron James; while
trying to spin a negative narrative. While giving Uncle Dennis a pass for
helping his nephew secure the best deal possible.

What happens from here with the Clippers: nobody knows because
scandal and no draft picks hamper their present and future. If NBA
commissioner Adam Silver concludes there was some shady business
done and violation of circumventing the salary cap, Ballmer could be
forced to sell the team. Leonard's name and involvement voids any
further contracts with the team. Could he be suspended for this
scandal? Possibly as he should and teams will be very cautious upon
signing him.

Uncle Dennis could face severe punishment as well; for he's not out the
clear. Don't be surprised if he ends up having to go before league
investigators and tell what he knows about his involvement with
Aspiration. Fans have zoomed in closely to see what punishment Silver
hammers down on the Los Angeles Clippers. Even if it means sending a
message to other owners this won't be tolerated.

From a basketball standpoint, the Clippers will always do the desperate
actions to stay relevant. Even if it means doing illegal deals behind
closed doors with superstar players. It all comes to light and shines real
bright.
