"Las Vegas Aces: The Dynasty Restoring Order"

"Las Vegas Aces: The Dynasty Restoring Order"

As the final buzzer sounded Friday night in Phoenix, Arizona; there was
relief, joy, admiration and champagne. This wasn't an easy task by any
means which came with adversity. For the Las Vegas Aces, it was about
restoring order. The Aces captured their third WNBA Finals title in four
seasons. A blowout game four over the Phoenix Mercury 97-86;
sweeping the Mercury while being battle tested.

This title was more difficult for Las Vegas after facing adversity midway
through the season. A bottom half team which people thought their
winning ways were over. Post all-star break, the Aces went on a winning
streak of fourteen games and climbed into title contention. All the noise
surrounding Minnesota, New York Liberty, Indiana Fever and Las Vegas
quietly raised the stakes and played a full deck each night.

Led by four time MVP A'ja Wilson, Las Vegas pushed the chips into
playoff mode and made each game matter. A team of resilience, grit,
championship pedigree and having the best player in Wilson. Jackie
Young's game elevated during this title run by adapting to 1B to Wilson's
1A. Veteran Chelsea Gray's role became a big game difference with
clutch shots; the others followed and made sure to finish the job.

A growing list of accolades, Wilson is stating her case as the GOAT
before the age of thirty. The best basketball player of her generation and
chasing greatness comes with a price. She's arguably face of women's
basketball and it's not even close. People were glazing Fever superstar
Caitlin Clark while Wilson was still dominating. One thing I've noticed
the last few months, national sports media didn't utter a word about Las
Vegas' title run. I wonder...

Even when the Indiana Fever took Las Vegas to five games without a
vasty majority of their team, was the last time Wilson was discussed.
You see, this further tells me national sports media doesn't care about
the WNBA unless their golden goose Clark is making highlights. Las
Vegas Aces were the best team post all-star break and didn't receive
any coverage. Cherry picking topics per usual and creating false
narratives about the sport.

In the end, Las Vegas Aces came back and finished the job; winning
their third title in four years. A special team who didn't flinch, yet took it
upon themselves to win the championship. Dynasties are built off grit,
dedication, sacrifice and strong player development. Las Vegas has
done just that and restoring order as the winningest team of the 2020s.
A'ja Wilson is the face of women's basketball and being the GOAT
brings more admiration for her accolades.
