"Kansas City Chiefs: Panic At The Kingdom"

"Kansas City Chiefs: Panic At The Kingdom"

All the talk surrounding Kansas City since 2024, are they still a team
opponents fear? Winning close games with no sweat hitting the field;
while everyone still had them penciled in to make it to February. For the
2025 Kansas City Chiefs, it's panic at the kingdom and running out of
terror in real time. A dynasty which as owned the 2020s is looking like a
team who's mentally and physically done.

After a close loss on Thanksgiving to the Dallas Cowboys, reality is
lurking as if Kansas City could miss postseason play in the
Reid/Mahomes era. It's very possible folks and every game from here
on out matters. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes was great when he
needed to be; but his teammates flopped in clutch moments. Dropped
passes, uncharacteristic penalties, just a ripple effect of everything not
going their way.

The score of 31-28 in a Cowboys victory is huge; considering both
teams are fighting for their playoff lives to keep pace in respected
conferences. Mahomes did all he could, but those missed opportunities
late in the fourth quarter speared their will. What used to be known as
"Mahomes Magic," looked like bad luck wishes. Kansas City had built
momentum early on, but never got one last push to orchestrate a game
winning drive.
For a team who's lived off winning one score games, it's not the case in
2025. This team is very beatable and opponents will stop Kansas City
from enjoying any moral win. As the current roster is constructed, this is
the last dance for Mahomes and future first ballot hall of fame tight end
Travis Kelce. Defensive tackle Chris Jones is still good, but not fearful
as he was a few years ago. Losing in the Super Bowl exposed their

defense in the trenches. Teams game planned and schemed to gash
the middle of their defensive line.

It's worked and the Chiefs are still asking themselves what's happened
to their aura? This version of Kansas City has ran its tenure and the
hour glass is slowly falling away. With a few days to regroup for a
Sunday night matchup with a resurgent Houston Texans team, it's
playoffs every single week. The number one scoring defense in Houston
will attempt stopping Kansas City and deliver another loss. A home
game with the Los Angeles Chargers on December 14th; which LA is
looking to keep pace and hold on to second place in the AFC West.

Road game against the Tennessee Titans, it's winnable but at this point
the Titans have nothing to lose and could play spoiler. Here's where it
comes down to: Christmas night hosting the Denver Broncos. One last
chance to clinch a playoff berth. Primetime Christmas night with
everyone watching to see a dynasty be wrapped up and boxed away.
Denver's stifling defense versus Kansas City's last wind of potent
offense. A crushing loss all but ends their playoff chances and players
looking into the mirror of mortality. Kelce's possible last home game
apart of a great run with Mahomes. Everything will headline this crucial
Christmas night divisional matchup. IF indeed the Chiefs miss
postseason play, they can only blame themselves for not retooling their
roster.
