"Kansas City Chiefs: Exposed At The Right Time"

"Kansas City Chiefs: Exposed At The Right Time"

Ahhh... The morning after Super Bowl LIX has settled and we've had
time to kinda digest what happened on Sunday evening. All the talk
about making NFL history in accomplishing the first three peat. None of
this matters or took place as Kansas City got served humble pie in a
blowout loss 40-22 to champion Philadelphia.

All season long, this team has been "bored" and winning multiple close
games by the skin of their teeth. Led by an elite defense, it was all good
and fun when they were doing damage control. But... when the media
started glazing Patrick Mahomes in taking the crown from Tom Brady,
things were getting feisty with fans and media. Barbershops,
podcasters, fans alike were really questioning the legitimacy of being
overrated.

Football is won in the trenches, as Kansas City has done in their title
runs. Mahomes' interceptions increased the last couple years and the
writing was on the wall. Playing backyard football against lower tier
defenses looked easy, but getting bull rushed by an Eagles front who
made life very uncomfortable.
Sack after sack, dazed looks and subtle body language, Kansas City
got exposed by Philadelphia and the foundation started to crack.
Finding creases in Kansas City's offensive line and getting pushed
around for three and half quarters of football. Interceptions came with a
price, as Mahomes' uncharacteristic play unraveled and couldn't escape
the pressure.

This is what happens when a complete team in Philadelphia understood
the assignment: takeaway what Mahomes does best and close the
pocket. Footwork was outta sync as he looked to the refs for any given

calls. Philadelphia took away Travis Kelce, who went without a catch
until later in the game. No "Mahomes Magic" could rally this team as
they fell behind 34-0 in a Super Bowl.

Once Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts hit Devonta Smith with a dime
and score, that was ball game and Kansas City knew it. Head coach
Andy Reid and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnola looked at each
other like: "we can't gain any traction." A complete team dominated this
juggernaut whose tormented everyone the last seven seasons; winning
three Super Bowls in that span.
All the glazing, media wanting to discredit Tom Brady's greatness with
omitting who the REAL dynasty was in New England. Mahomes chasing
Brady's ring count and accomplishing far more in a short period of time.
Everyone forgot who dominated the league for twenty-three seasons
and won seven rings.

When a defense can rush four guys without blitzing, Kansas City's
offensive line couldn't stop a nose bleed in that regard. Philadelphia
deserves credit and respect for a simple scheme which confused
Mahomes all night long. He wanted to run outside the pocket, he was
taken down. Cover middle of the field, nobody was open. Run the ball,
no luck whatsoever. Nothing was going to help this team get back into
the game trailing 34-0 in the third quarter.

All the talk of "three peat" became motivation for Philadelphia in
stopping Kansas City's feat. Chiefs fans left feeling hurt, lost and even
emotionally damaged the refs didn't give them any breaks. Speaking of
which, I believe this is the most penalties Kansas City had all season.
What would be in favor of them was an afterthought. It was humble pie
for a team who everyone wanted to bandwagon and forget about the
GOAT who did it with tougher competition during his dominance. Lesson
learned: don't put a horse before the buggy and expect different results.

Also, don't see trees before the forest with nowhere to hide. This
concludes an humbling finish to the 2024 NFL Season!

Stai tuned.
