"Jaxson Dart: Failing To Read The Locker Room"

In the political realm we're living as of 2026, there's nothing really to
be "happy" about. A war in the Middle East, inflation, black voter
rights being stripped away, corruption within "red hat cult," and
anything else you can think of. What happens when a current
franchise quarterback who's shown potential heading into his
second year? Then all of a sudden, the least unexpected moment
changed how "fans" view this young man.

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart attended a rally in New
York, where he introduced President Donald J. Trump. As most fans
were minding their own business, scrolling through social media
and seen this pop up. The general population of people who
support MAGA jumped for joy to see someone who looked like them
adore and glaze a man who isn't so "great."

Dart stood with honor and great pride behind a podium before
Trump made his cringey appearance. Both exchanged handshakes
and that was all people needed to see. Now, allow me to throw a
brutal honest assessment. Dart is a casual young white male with
good traits. For what we know, nothing bad has been said about his
character on the playing field. A ceiling of promise barring any
injuries and lead the Giants to the promised land.

None of this was known... Until making what I call "a clout chasing
moment" to further align himself with Trump's political ideology.
What I mean is: anything and everything Trump is pushing, Dart
follows. Rather it be social media likes of taking away black voter

rights, immigration, all the rhetorics pushed every single day. Liking
all the conspiracy theories which far right wing media pundits and
content creators post.

In a very liberal state which leans left or democrat, Dart has already
lost his place. By that, aligning yourself with a man whose name is
mentioned more times than "Jeffery" in the files. Convicted felon,
failed business mogul, grifter and continuing to create organized
crime within the government. How many more facts would Dart
need to see the flashing lights? Apparently, bad decisions run close
together.

Giants fans were fuming over their franchise quarterback
introducing the President; knowing backlash would follow. A league
which is predominantly black side-eyed Dart to a point teammate
Abdul Carter posted about it on social media. Was this really
happening? Yes and to sit here without trying to be upset, I'm not
shocked to say the least. Case in point, how can Dart lead the
locker room with this incident?

When the franchise quarterback is out here at a Trump rally and
introducing him, it's a slap in the face. Lacking self-awareness and
maturity were on display. Even if Dart didn't say it was about
politics, social media pages say otherwise. It's an area where he
must look at the harm inflicted and navigating through negative
press.

This circles back to the whole "stick to sports" and "shut up and
dribble" narrative in 2018. Politics and sports have crossed paths on
numerous occasions. Going back to the days of trailblazing athletes

such as Jackie Robinson, Jesse Owens, Bill Russell, Muhammad
Ali, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, John Carlos, Tommie Harris. Even
current athletes as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and
many more have spoken out on the President's policies.

When former NFL quarterback Colin Kapernick kneeled during the
national anthem in 2016, it struck a nerve with white America. They
didn't like Kapernick's stance on kneeling; which caused an uproar
from sports pundits. As if he broke a crime by exercising his first
amendment right. No harm done, but he took the backlash from
right wing pundits and incoming President Trump. He voiced his
stance and people ignored it; while others said and did whatever on
social media.

Dart is what MAGA adores: young white male who's willing to say
and do whatever they believe is right. The privileges are given daily;
whereas black athletes claw and fight to keep their voices heard.
Black athletes are chastised for speaking up on systematic racism
in our communities. White athletes are praised for kissing the rear
of a President who only cares about others lining their pockets with
his.

It's always been a double standard for black and white athletes; no

matter how you dissect it. We're the ones who get marked as "Un-
American Patriots" or any racial trope said out loud. There's no

sugar coating it and hiding behind the bushes. Dart's true colors
were revealed and will have serious effect once the season starts.

He may show his swagger on the field; which was a simple copy
and paste from black teammates. Be one of the "fellas" within the

locker room and persona built. Off the field, might as well put on the
"red hat" and drink from a fountain of tainted punch. I'm not a New
York Giants fan nor do I reside in New York. If this were my
quarterback, I'd view him differently moving forward.

Giants players can have all the meetings and whatnot; but once
sirens start to go off after losses, it'll circle back to Dart's interaction
with President Trump. Everything he crosses is bad sports seasons
for teams. Via 2025 Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon
Barkley playing golf, Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown
performing Trump's cringey dance, Detroit Tigers blowing the AL
Central division.

In closing, I have no problem with the first amendment right by any
means. It's very mindful to who you align with and what they stand
for. Black athletes loved and adored former President Barack
Obama; who gained respect from white athletes as well. A man of
humility and high character, everyone would say he's the "greatest
President in American history."

Jaxson Dart will have to grow and show maturity in 2026. Regaining
the trust of his teammates and fans must result with wins. Every
little hiccup and bad game won't bode well for a franchise ushering
in a new direction. If Dart is the quarterback New York is banking
on, it took a major loss by aligning himself with Donald J. Trump
and MAGA.
