"Chaos Of The Matter: Win Now Or Pack It Up"

"Chaos Of The Matter: Win Now Or Pack It Up"

Four weeks into the 2026 NFL season has been looking pretty good.
Most teams are starting to figure out their identity, personnel and
schemes. Coaches pushing the right buttons; while developing strong
practice habits and culture building foundations. There's teams who
really need to soul search to avoid packing up their season and waving
the white flag. Allow me to bring chaos and context for teams who need
a win to save their season.

Los Ángeles Chargers: 0-3
High expectations with a super talented quarterback in Justin Herbert,
the most disappointing team as we speak. New offensive coordinator
Mike McDaniel can't get Herbert to click. It's caused confusion,
disfunction and distraught as to why this team can't figure it out? Head
coach Jim Harbaugh openly criticized Herbert's play and didn't mince
words. Defense played their best game so far in a loss to Buffalo by
forcing five turnovers.

Now... Chaos of the matter is this defense did their job and gifted
Herbert multiple opportunities to score in the red zone. You mean to tell
me the guy who everyone considers "generational" can't clear this
hurdle? Buffalo played their D+ game and the Chargers couldn't steal a
big win this past Sunday? A wasted effort which puts blame on Herbert's
lack of urgency. Good roster and coaching staff, you can't ask for
anything better. Since every national sports pundit is hung ho over
Herbert looking the part, what are you really watching? Big, tall with a
cannon of an arm doesn't hide his imperfections. Making excuses has
been a trend and as fans figured out, Herbert isn't fully invested with the
team.

Los Ángeles needs to fully charge and avoid misery from being a
laughing stock in a very crowded AFC. Their division is going to be ultra
competitive as Kansas City is back. Las Vegas is the surprise team as
we speak and Denver... Well, comeback wins are their mojo right now.
LA can't afford to start 0-4 and light their way into October. There has to
be difficult conversations among players and coaches to turn this
around.

Houston Texans: 0-3
Another team with Super Bowl aspirations who clearly have a great
defense led by superstar Will Anderson Jr, that's not the issue. We know
how brash and physical they can play. Quarterback CJ Stroud is the
holdup in Houston's win column. In a contract year, Stroud has been up,
down and mediocre. Offensive line is very shaky and having to move
around for a big splash play has been detrimental. Running backs David
Montgomery and Woody Marks can bruise defensive fronts.

Chaos of the matter centers around Stroud and his abilities to led this
offense down the field every possession. It's not realistic for Houston to
play behind; while keeping their defense fresh. With all the odds against
Stroud, it's make or break in 2026. Texans front office is paying attention
closely if he's the franchise quarterback or just the product of two good
seasons. Either way, Houston's season is looking like a cowboy riding a
bull in rodeo competition.

Will the Texans be able to stay on the rodeo long enough to get a much
needed win this weekend? Or 0-4 becomes too much to overcome in a
season filled with high expectations and AFC title game hopes? We
shall see as the season is slowly bucking away in Houston.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 0-3

The ship has been hit with a cannon and slowly sinking for Tampa Bay.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield complained and voiced his distain for
contract talks. Front office rewarded him with a 3year/$160 million dollar
extension. Only to start the season with three losses; one of them being
to the lowly Cleveland Browns in a weather delay. With an aging team
and future first ballot Hall of Fame receiver Mike Evans no longer the
security blanket, Mayfield has been a little lost at times.

Chaos of the matter is Tampa Bay's underachieving teams benefited
from playing in a horrible NFC South division. Rather you like it or not,
the Bucs have been mid tier at best with Mayfield leading the way. 2025
was his best start to season with comeback wins early on but failed to
keep momentum going late in the season as it sunk deeper away from
shore. Defensive tackle Vita Vea got a small extension after voicing a
trade out, it's been nothing but organized misery. Now that Mayfield is
out with a dislocated thumb, what's next is can backup quarterback
Jalon Daniels can lead the Bucs to their first win to avoid an 0-4 start.

Tennessee Titans: 0-3
A team who hasn't been relevant since franchise running back Derrick
Henry was released, the Titans are now a dumpster fire which is
laughable. Head coach firings, bad draft picks, no morale and
everything in between. For starters, second year quarterback Cam Ward
has been.... Not good as most scouts projected him to be coming out of
University of Miami. But... it gets better and I'm here to say why this
trend will continue.

Chaos of the matter is Tennessee brought this on themselves in 2022.
Trading away star wide receiver AJ Brown to Philadelphia proved to be
the end of this franchise. Letting Derrick Henry walk after carrying the
Titans to postseason play with an average quarterback in Ryan
Tannehill, it's been nothing but shortcomings. Not having a stable front

office who too seen many faces come and go. Head coaches who
clearly can't function and prepare a team to play each week.

I circle back to Cam Ward; first round pick in 2025 who everyone was
hyping up and throwing shade at his competition in Shedeur Sanders.
As we've seen through a small sample size, Ward hasn't been able to
live up and deliver any big game moments. What's funny is national
media sports pundits thought Ward is who Sanders was? *Shrugs* How
he can't handle the media very well, lack of self awareness and can't
lead the team.

His performance this past weekend left little to be desired as offensive
coordinator Brian Daboll, the former head coach who made Daniel
Jones look all-pro and *helped* Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen
become league MVP. Daboll had a look of disbelief as Ward threw a
game ending interception against the New York Giants. Even a careless
trot back out of his stance and throw it to running back Tony Pollard for
a couple yards. Bad habits and lack of focus is a vast reason to be
concerned for Titans fans.

They haven't been able to cheer about anything post Derrick Henry. A
suffering fan base who just in 2019 made it to the AFC title game versus
Kansas City. Playoff losses and becoming a team nobody mentions
during free agency. Rookie wide receiver Carnell Tate can be special
but having Ward as his signal caller has "trade me" written over it come
2028-29 unless a true franchise quarterback falls into their laps.

Head coach Robert Saleh is in a second go around and appears to be
over his head. A defensive minded coach but a roster of unknown
potential has yet to succeed. Do I believe he'll make it through the
season? No, in part of it's Tennessee and they fire coaches midway
through or the end. The region is nice and low key chilled; but how

many fans actually get excited about their football team? Moving into a
new dome stadium in 2027 may help break the curse, but for now...
Expect this team to lose more games than winning in 2026.

Miami Dolphins: 0-3
A complete rebuild of Miami is fully underway for 2027. Yes, the
Dolphins have pretty much swam far away into the Atlantic Ocean.
Running back Devon Achane is down with a torn ACL; after receiving a
nice contract extension to help turnaround in 2026. New head coach
Jeff Hafley came down from Green Bay and it hasn't been a great start.
Journeyman quarterback Malik Willis can give you good and bad games
with more to be desired.

Chaos of the matter is Miami is now on the tanking list for Texas
quarterback Arch Manning. Rather they go 0-17 or say 2-15 won't
guarantee winning the Manning sweepstakes. Shedding dead cap
money which counted for one hundred seventy-seven million by
releasing three marquee players in Tua, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
Other players got axed and a soft rebuild was in place.
For what it's worth, Miami's best chances are to stay competitive and let
the chips fall where they may. If they choose to tank, the consensus is
Manning their top pick in 2027. If another team say the New York Jets,
Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals beat them for
the top pick, there's going to be other quarterbacks who'll be top five to
seven picks. Even if they can't draft one, the saying goes take best
player available.

Miami is starving for a generational quarterback since Dan Marino
retired way back when. It's been up and down backups who've been
decent but not great. Unless... In a perfect world, Florida native and two
time league MVP Lamar Jackson gets an opportunity to come home
and help turn things around. Problem is will the front office give up draft

capital for present success versus building around the future? It's a
reach but we've seen crazier aspects of teams eating dead money and
starting over. Baltimore would want an overhaul of picks; but that's how
the NFL works.
