"AFC Championship Preview: The Prequel"

To kickoff this article, I'm going to give Star Wars fans some love.

"But Master Yoda says I should be mindful of the future... but not at the 
expense of the moment." Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Got Jinn. This line 
was taken from "The Phantom Menace."

This would best summarize the prequel we are about to witness 
between Kansas City and Buffalo Sunday evening in Arrowhead 
Stadium. Both teams have met four times in the playoffs; Kansas City 
winning all four. We've seen high potent scoring, slug it out until 
someone falls down in recent memory. These two teams met midway 
through the regular season as Buffalo won 30-21 over Kansas City.
Handing the Chiefs their first loss and from that moment, playoff paths 
would cross.

If I may, let's cut the small talk and preview this highly anticipated 
matchup!

1 Kansas City Chiefs vs 2 Buffalo Bills

For the sake of argument, Kansas City has flexed their championship
DNA for many seasons. There's levels to being a juggernaut and
evolving throughout. When the best quarterback, tight end, head coach
can score enough points to win, opponents are left asking what more
can they do? With healthy players getting back into the fold, this offense
can beat you with speed, time management and when "magic" needs to
happen, don't blink.
Kansas City won't beat themselves as we've seen throughout this
dynasty. If you don't go throw for throw and score points, teams haven't

learned they never will. The story has centered around Mahomes' down
year and being snubbed for a Pro Bowl. Rather it's motivation or as
Michael Jordan said "I took it personal," if there's plenty of time left and
you don't stop him... You're gonna pay one way or another and nothing
else needs to be said.

Now, to the Chiefs defense; a unit that's been top three and plays just
as potent in close game situations. They haven't gotten the credit in part
of Mahomes' down year. Rather it's getting home to your quarterback,
finding interceptions and flipping the field in helping Mahomes lead a
scoring drive. This defense has been able to keep teams at bay and find
ways to disrupt your rhythm and substance. Adding as much frustration
possible, along with having the loudest home field advantage in pro
football. Opposing teams are basically overwhelmed and precarious.

Buffalo roams into their second AFC title game in five seasons led by
MVP candidate Josh Allen. In what's been a season of schematic
changes, Allen has eliminated turning the ball over. A strong run game
with James Cook, a very underrated offensive line and receivers by
committee; this is the best Buffalo team to date in Josh's tenure.

Trading away former number one receiver Stefon Diggs was a sigh of
relief. Having a scheme that features everyone without force feeding a
primary guy. Similar to how San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg
Popovich featured every player in his Princeton offense. Constant ball
movement and keep the defense on their heels. Offensive coordinator
Joe Brady has done wonders in making Allen an MVP candidate.
Knowing when and where to strike early in taking their best shot for a
homerun play.

Defensively, a bend but don't break unit that plays fast and laser
focused. Veterans, young players and knowing their assignments will

have to be crisper in upsetting the Chiefs. A unit which features Von
Miller, Taylor Rupp, Demar Hamlin, Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau and Matt
Milano, Buffalo's defense will need to play penalty free in helping Allen's
offense. Any small crack in the foundation early, you're going to pay the
price.

With this matchup, NFL fans will gather around their televisions to watch
"The Prequel" between Kansas City vs Buffalo. Ratings will be through
the roof as Kansas City looks to spear their ticket to New Orleans,
Louisiana. Will Buffalo finally advance into the Super Bowl since 1993?
Grab your popcorn, snacks and beverages. Be prepared for three hours
of pure exciting football in the AFC title game.
