"A Christmas Gift For Sports Fans Part One"
Twas the night before Christmas, all was quiet throughout the house.
Fans sleeping and slumbering while waiting for each present to open.
Smiling about a possible jersey from their spouse or sibling; anticipating
great games across the NBA and NFL. No matter the outcomes, we'll be
invested regardless.
Welcome to a special edition of Christmas Day sports; as the NBA and
NFL will see who's been naughty and nice. A full day of two dominant
sports and bright superstars. The NFL has managed to maximize their
streaming platforms to fans and takeover what used to be the NBA's
day of holiday hoops. This time around... It could be a flop; considering
what game intrigues you.
When the schedule was released, Netflix had three potential playoff
implication games scheduled. Nobody could've thought it be duds
across the board. The only game and team fans will watch: Dallas
Cowboys traveling to Washington with nothing to play for. Both teams
are eliminated from playoff contention; but pride and incentives. Ratings
for this game will be documented and still dominate regardless.
Detroit traveling to Minnesota and keep their playoff hopes alive will be
somewhat entertaining. A classic NFC North showdown and with the
Lions' postseason hopes lingering, kneecaps will be bitten. A matter of if
and when determines Detroit's fate and how things shape out Sunday
afternoon.
The game everyone circled including myself: Denver flying to Kansas
City and finishing Kansas City's worse season in the Mahomes/Reid
tenure. With Patrick Mahomes' season ending knee injury, the dynasty
is over. Adding injury to insult, back-up quarterback Gardner Minshew is
likely done for 2025 as well. Injuring his knee in Tennessee, Kansas
City's pride and humility is gone. Denver looks to regroup and take
advantage of what's left in what could be Travis Kelce's final game in
Arrowhead Stadium.
With NFL games on deck, Christmas looks to be merry and cheerful if
you're a fan of any of these teams. Even with injured players, it's still
football no matter what. From all of us here at The Gryd Network, have
a safe Merry Christmas.
