Why is it so hard to get people to understand what you're trying to share?

Often, we know exactly what we mean when we write or say something. But here’s the catch—our audience doesn’t have the same context we do. They’re coming from a completely different perspective. And that’s where the message often gets lost or misunderstood. That's why these tips from author Heather Day are so helpful.

- Always put yourself in the audience's shoes. What do *they* see, think, or feel when they hear your message? Do they really have the full picture? Are you willing to repeat the message til they are clear?
- Assume less, explain more. What details seem obvious to you but might not be for them?
- Test your communication. Ask for feedback to spot any gaps or blind spots.

Your message isn’t just about what’s in your head—it’s about what lands in theirs.
