In every superhero story, the main character has to face tremendous obstacles and overcome them in order to finally become the hero they were meant to be.
The same can be said for every creative artist, but especially for our guest on The God and Gigs Show, Fish Lee. He has endured an incredible ordeal in his health and his family, yet he has held on to his creative dream and is now inspiring others with his story.
Diagnosed with severe Tourette's syndrome at age 30, Fish was relegated to life in a wheelchair for 15 years unable to walk, talk, or see most days. Trapped in a body that didn't work, he often spent days using the one eye and one thumb that worked to become an online advocate for those living with Tourettes. He then self published a comic book "T-Man & HyperStrike" about a super hero team with Tourette's syndrome and ADHD. Fish turned that success into a full time job illustrating small press indie comics for up and coming creators, and is preparing to launch his own series of comics called "Greenzone: Life in the Blocks."
In this episode you'll discover how Fish applied his faith, his determination and unique perspective to overcome a debilitating illness and live out his creative dream of drawing, art and comic illustration. You'll discover how applying the discipline and never-quit attitude to your own goals can result in a wonderful creative life, even when life hits you with the most trying of circumstances.

More About the God and Gigs Show
Welcome to The God and Gigs Show, the podcast for Christian creators who want to build a creator lifestyle that honors God and gives you the joy and satisfaction you've always wanted.
This isn't a show about hustle culture or chasing the next algorithm trick. We go beyond surface-level tips to talk about what it actually looks like to create from a place of faith — practical strategies for podcasting, content creation, and growing a creative business that lasts. You'll hear conversations about staying consistent without burning out. We also dig into finding your creative voice along the way, even when ministry, family, and work are all pulling at the same hours.
Whether you're just exploring your creative gifts, or you've been creating professionally for years, this show gives Christian creators practical tools and spiritual encouragement to fully embrace God's creative calling - at any level of skill or vocational ability. The goal is to help you create consistently and embrace God's will for your creative life without sacrificing your calling.
Your host and founder is Allen C. Paul — podcaster, musician, author, and speaker based in South Florida. We started this show to help creators thrive in faith, business, and creativity through simple, practical solutions.
