How do you find your way in a crowded, competitive music industry without losing sight of what really matters?
Jazmin Crumley, professional vocalist, vocal coach, BGV specialist and creative mentor, has discovered some key truths that have led to sustained success as an artist, creative entrepreneur and educator. She's achieved goals that many creatives work their whole lives to reach, while staying true to her core values. She shares the key lessons she learned about staying relevant in today's fast paced music and entertainment industry, building a lasting creative career by focusing on the right things, and the power of setting high expectations as you pursue your calling.
From Vocal Student to Vocal Coach
After graduating with a degree in Music Management, Jazmin began her career as a background singer for local artists in the Atlanta area. As both a background singer and vocal coach, she's worked and recorded with artists such as Musiq Soulchild, Monica, Kirk Franklin, Jermaine Dupri, Anthony Hamilton, Avery Sunshine, Donald Lawrence, Tina Karol of Ukraine and many more national and international recording artists.
She's been a part of the musical staff of major events such as the 34th Annual Gospel Stellar Awards, 20th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration and The 2018 BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards honoring Janet Jackson. Currently, her vocal talents are being featured in seasons 2 and 3 of OWN Network’s hit TV series, Greenleaf.
As her career progressed, Jazmin began to utilize her insights about voice and the music industry as a vocal coach, and eventually founded The Outlet for Vocal Expression, where singers could receive quality, affordable vocal training. She's presented various workshops for vocalists across the country, including "BLENDED, The BGV Bootcamp", which offered training, knowledge, and career guidance to aspiring professional background vocalists.
