This part of the conversation is a good reminder that career changes do not always begin with a perfect business plan.
She had already spent 18 years in accounting, worked in public and corporate accounting, and spent time at PwC, Deloitte, and Ernst & Young.
She had clearly put in the years.
But eventually, she realized she did not want to keep working in someone else's office or cubicle.
So she started asking what working for herself might actually look like.
At first, she did not even see remote accounting as the obvious answer. She started learning new skills, including website building, while she explored different ways to build something of her own.
That process eventually led her into remote accounting education and entrepreneurship. 💻
I like this story because it is a lot closer to how career transitions actually happen for most people.
You rarely have every detail figured out before you move. Sometimes you just know the current path is no longer the one you want.
