Why I Built the ROI Method for Tax Planning

This is a throwback to an older episode of the Financial Clarity podcast with Hannah Smolinski, where we spent a lot of time talking about tax planning and value pricing.

One of the biggest reasons I created the ROI Method was that I wanted accountants to have a clearer way to connect their fees to the financial value they create for clients.

If a tax plan can produce measurable savings, I believe the client should be able to see that value before the pricing conversation gets reduced to hours and billing rates.

That is also why I created the ROI workbook.

The goal was to give accountants something practical they could use to show the opportunity, quantify the potential value, and have a much more transparent conversation with the client. 📊

The tools around tax advisory have changed a lot since this interview, especially with platforms like TaxPlanIQ, but the pricing philosophy behind the ROI Method is still the same.

Show the value. Make the return understandable. Then price the engagement around the work being created for the client.
