What’s the ROI of Hiring You?

How do you value a professional service when the work itself can look like a commodity?

Bookkeeping was the example Hannah Smolinski raised during this older Financial Clarity conversation.

One way to think about it is through opportunity cost.

Instead of only asking what the bookkeeping service costs, ask what happens when the business does not have it.

That opens up a different conversation about value.

The same idea can apply to CFO services and other professional services.

I jokingly called it the "return on you."

If your work creates a return for the client, you should understand what that return looks like and be able to communicate it.

That is a big part of how I think about the ROI Method and value pricing.

The goal is to move the pricing conversation beyond hours and toward the financial value of the work being provided.
