Y'all, this is the question I wish someone had asked me before I spent years burnt out trying to be both.

When I started my advisory firm I did what most founders do. I ran everything. Vision, systems, sales, delivery, all of it. I called it hustle. The truth was I was exhausted in a way that didn't go away no matter how hard I worked.

Then I figured something out that changed every business I've built since: I'm a visionary. I love strategy, transformation, big ideas, the kind of thinking that reframes what's possible. The operational details drain me. I can do them and I did for years. But they cost me something that eventually became unsustainable.

By my third business I immediately stepped away from operations and partnered with an integrator who could turn ideas into actual execution and filter out the ideas that were just plain crazy. My business grew faster. My stress dropped dramatically.

Every thriving company needs both energies. One imagines what's possible. The other makes it real. The problem isn't which one you are. The problem is spending years fighting against it instead of designing your business around it.

Which one are you? Drop it in the comments.
