From Enron to Deloitte: My Career Full-Circle Story

My first job was supposed to be at Enron in a 2-year rotational program. I even met Ken Lay. Then the collapse happened, and everything changed.

At Merrill Lynch, I asked wealthy people how they built their capital. Nearly half told me they started in public accounting — because “accounting is the language of business.”

That advice changed my path:

I got my master’s in accountancy

Became a CPA at Deloitte

My very first Deloitte client? Enron’s remnants (Prisma Energy)

Full circle. And from there, I carried M&A and industry experience all the way through my career in public accounting.
