The Doorman Nobody Valued: Wes on Storytelling, Corporate Blind Spots, and Building Brotherhood of the Wolf
Wes left a successful tech career to build an indie graphic novel company. He and CJ get into why storytelling moves people when statistics can’t, what corporate America misses about its most valuable people, and why print still matters.
Wes grew up moving constantly — different states, different countries, new friends every few years. The one constant was story: books, movies, television. He wrote plays as a kid. He built a career in tech. And the whole time he watched the craft of storytelling get worse while he waited for someone to do something about it.
Eventually he realized nobody was coming. So he built it himself: Brotherhood of the Wolf, an independent graphic novel series he describes as Berserk meets Black Hawk Down — published in print only, drawn by professors from one of Italy’s serious comic schools, with fifteen issues mapped out and a video game in pre-production.
