Have we been seeking God's blessings instead of God Himself? This profound question cuts to the heart of why many Christians struggle to impact those around them.

Tommy Tenney's "The God Chaser" challenges us to examine what truly draws people to faith. It's not our programs, strategies, or even our words - it's the unmistakable presence of God that lingers on us after genuine encounter. When we carry this "divine radiation zone," people sense something different without explanation.

The concept of presence evangelism represents a radical shift from traditional approaches. Rather than merely sharing information about God, what if we carried such an atmosphere of His presence that demons fled, healing happened, and conviction fell simply because we walked into a room? This isn't hyperbole - it's precisely what happened throughout scripture and church history when individuals prioritized intimate communion with God above everything else.

A sobering reality confronts American Christianity today. While convenience stores remain open 24/7 to meet physical needs, most churches operate only two hours weekly while claiming to offer the Bread of Life. Not one of the world's 50 largest churches is in America, despite our centuries of missionary endeavors. The issue isn't that people lack hunger for spiritual reality - it's that we've offered stale religious experience instead of fresh bread from heaven.

The pathway forward requires brokenness and genuine repentance. There are no shortcuts to revival. God's glory manifests when His people weep between the porch and the altar, crying out for mercy. Only then will strangers approach us in stores, restaurants, and public spaces, drawn irresistibly to the presence we carry.

Are you hungry simply for God's blessings, or for God Himself? This distinction makes all the difference. When we seek His face rather than His hand, we discover the true purpose of His presence - not just personal fulfillment, but transformation that ripples outward to a world desperate for authentic encounter.

What would your life look like if you pursued God with such intensity that no one could be near you without meeting Him?

So drive me a seat, place your order and we will deliver it fresh and hot, just for you.

00:01:32.316 --> 00:01:33.617
Welcome everybody.

00:01:33.617 --> 00:01:35.905
Welcome to the Christian Cafe.

00:01:35.905 --> 00:01:56.210
Come right on in, have yourself a seat and let's enjoy this time we have together Just to sit down and talk about the Word of God and talk about what he has done for us and what he can do and, most of all, what he is going to do Amen.

00:01:56.210 --> 00:02:18.370
It's good to be back with you, back talking to you again about this fabulous book that we've been going through and I hope that you have enjoyed it thus far, been getting a lot of reactions, a lot of downloads on it, and I'm just thankful that god is reaching you in a place where you're at once.

00:02:18.370 --> 00:02:27.766
He reveals something to us then we must walk into, and I hope he's been opening up the doors through this book and showing you things that you may never seen.

00:02:27.766 --> 00:02:31.591
As I said earlier, I have read this book several times.

00:02:31.591 --> 00:02:51.186
I think this is my fourth time going through it and each time I get something different out of it, because it's just such an enriching book and Pastor Tommy Tenney done a wonderful job talking about his experience going through this time of his life, this season that he went through.

00:02:51.186 --> 00:02:57.906
It changed his life and I hope that's what this book is doing to you, but again, welcome to the Christian Cafe.

00:02:58.929 --> 00:02:59.631
It's been a while.

00:02:59.631 --> 00:03:01.747
A lot of things have been taking place.

00:03:01.747 --> 00:03:07.251
A lot of things have taken place, but God is good and he's helped us through them all.

00:03:07.251 --> 00:03:16.951
We're going through a season in our life where things just seem to be an uproar, but God is making us stronger, he's helping us through it.

00:03:16.951 --> 00:03:28.650
My wife is getting ready to have surgery in a few days on her back, and that's another thing that we're asking God and still believing God is going to perform a miraculous healing.

00:03:28.650 --> 00:03:33.390
God, we still believe that he does what his word says and he does.

00:03:33.390 --> 00:03:36.028
And if she has to go through the surgery, that's all fine and well too.

00:03:36.028 --> 00:03:37.947
He's still going to heal her one way or the other.

00:03:37.947 --> 00:03:41.104
But I'm still believing for God to touch her without it.

00:03:41.104 --> 00:03:45.854
You know, just because it's a few days left doesn't mean he can't do it before the very moment.

00:03:45.854 --> 00:03:48.805
It's just who God is.

00:03:48.805 --> 00:03:54.389
It's in his time and that's what I've accepted, and we're just praying for her speedy recovery.

00:03:54.389 --> 00:04:02.445
So I ask that you help me pray for her, call her out before God in your prayer time that God will just be with her and just give her strength.

00:04:08.460 --> 00:04:21.122
Just so many things going on in this world and things going around, as we need God more today than we ever did, and I trust that you are seeking him for the path that he wants you to take, not a path of what man wants you to do, but what God wants to do in your life.

00:04:21.122 --> 00:04:23.293
But I'm just thankful for what he's doing.

00:04:23.293 --> 00:04:24.860
It's been some pretty weather.

00:04:24.860 --> 00:04:26.809
We've had some rain here in North Carolina.

00:04:26.809 --> 00:04:30.009
Today is sun shining here on the 4th of July.

00:04:30.259 --> 00:04:41.855
Today is Independence Day, and I'm thankful for our soldiers who gave their life so that I could have independence, that I could have freedom.

00:04:41.855 --> 00:04:47.300
I served in the US Navy, independence, that I can have freedom.

00:04:47.300 --> 00:04:53.802
I served in the US Navy, and so I am honored to say that I helped Father with our freedom in this country, and all those that have served that listen to the podcast.

00:04:53.802 --> 00:04:55.946
I want to thank you for your service.

00:04:55.946 --> 00:04:59.839
Thank you for the sacrifice you've given for our country.

00:05:01.543 --> 00:05:13.016
Well, we're going to get back into the book today and before we do, I just want to say that if you have a prayer request or a need or whatever you would like for me to pray, please drop me an email.

00:05:13.016 --> 00:05:18.170
My email is thechristiancafe2022 at gmailcom.

00:05:18.170 --> 00:05:23.319
I check my email daily and if I have a prayer request, I pray for them.

00:05:23.319 --> 00:05:25.500
So if you have anything that you would like have a prayer request, I pray for them.

00:05:25.500 --> 00:05:29.062
So if you have anything that you would like me to pray about, just let me know.

00:05:29.062 --> 00:05:30.684
I'd be more than happy to help you pray.

00:05:30.684 --> 00:05:36.807
And if you would like to have a copy of this book I trust that you also email me Let me know.

00:05:36.807 --> 00:05:39.427
I will send you a copy of this book free of charge.

00:05:39.427 --> 00:05:41.149
It won't cost you a dime.

00:05:41.149 --> 00:05:42.509
I know we've been going through it.

00:05:42.509 --> 00:05:47.651
You can go back and listen to the podcast, but it's good to have something in hand Once in a while you can take notes on.

00:05:48.252 --> 00:05:56.415
And speaking of that, I have another book that I would like to talk about here shortly before we take a break and get back into our book.

00:05:56.415 --> 00:05:58.336
I have a pastor friend.

00:05:58.336 --> 00:06:04.401
He pastors a church in Sevierville, tennessee Excuse me the Lift Church.

00:06:04.401 --> 00:06:16.262
His name is Pastor Keith Nix and he just published a book and went out and I have read it and it's a marvelous book and it's called Losing Jesus in Church.

00:06:16.283 --> 00:06:21.072
If you ever lost something, then it's always at the last place you left it.

00:06:21.072 --> 00:06:35.584
I can guarantee you that, and I think sometimes we did as uh jesus's parents did we went off and we forgot jesus, and that's exactly what he talks about that in his book and it's just a marvelous book.

00:06:35.584 --> 00:06:44.028
And, who knows, I might uh do that as a, um, a podcast uh later in the future, but, um, I don't know.

00:06:44.028 --> 00:06:51.567
But if like to have a copy of that book also I have several copies left I'll be glad to send you one free of charge and you can add it to your collection.

00:06:51.567 --> 00:06:56.980
Let's take a break and we'll get back here shortly and begin in our book, okay?

00:06:58.081 --> 00:07:06.793
I could climb the highest peak, could dive the deepest sea.

00:07:06.793 --> 00:07:08.317
Highest peak, kodaina, deepest sea.

00:07:08.317 --> 00:07:12.910
I can't fail, cause you're watching over me.

00:07:12.910 --> 00:07:19.252
I could walk on.

00:07:19.252 --> 00:07:23.391
Burning cold need a fight?

00:07:23.391 --> 00:07:24.043
Freezing cold ever hurts me.

00:07:24.043 --> 00:07:28.408
Burning cold need a final freezing cold ever hurts me.

00:07:29.002 --> 00:07:37.394
Since the day you saved my soul, I am strong cause.

00:07:37.394 --> 00:07:43.906
I know I've got you on my side and my faith is a burning flame.

00:07:43.906 --> 00:07:53.389
And as long as I know I have you on my side, all my enemies will fail.

00:07:53.389 --> 00:07:57.790
In your name, I shall prevail.

00:07:57.790 --> 00:08:06.653
You speak and I heed the call.

00:08:06.653 --> 00:08:11.309
By your might, all my foes will fall.

00:08:11.309 --> 00:08:17.112
I'm a soldier, a soldier for your love.

00:08:17.112 --> 00:08:30.314
Oh Holy Father, son, your kingdom, I know, will come.

00:08:30.314 --> 00:08:37.394
Oh, jesus, I sing your name in praise.

00:08:37.394 --> 00:08:48.289
Oh, I'm strong because I know I've got you on my side and my faith is a burning flame.

00:08:48.289 --> 00:08:57.772
And as long as I know I have you on my side, all my enemies will fade.

00:08:57.772 --> 00:09:00.506
I am strong cause.

00:09:00.506 --> 00:09:07.309
I know I've got you on my side and my faith is a burning flame.

00:09:07.309 --> 00:09:16.789
And as long as I know I have you on my side, all my enemies will fail.

00:09:16.789 --> 00:09:20.971
In your name, I shall prevail.

00:09:38.350 --> 00:09:39.611
Alright, are you ready?

00:09:39.611 --> 00:09:48.898
Free me Back in chapter 8, the purpose of his presence, the divine radiation zones, presence, evangelism.

00:09:48.898 --> 00:09:51.606
I hope you will get something out of this.

00:09:51.606 --> 00:09:52.450
This is a great chapter.

00:09:52.450 --> 00:09:57.932
I'm telling you what it's going to make you cringe, make you think.

00:09:57.932 --> 00:10:01.246
It's probably going to make you repent a little bit too.

00:10:01.246 --> 00:10:03.445
I know it did me Every time I read it.

00:10:03.445 --> 00:10:07.745
It does Because we're not perfect, right, we still have a long way to go.

00:10:07.745 --> 00:10:22.325
There's still some things we can learn and grow closer to God in, and that's what this book tends to do Get us to think about what we can do to be closer to be a God chaser, and that's what this book is entitled.

00:10:22.325 --> 00:10:28.725
And I hope that you're seeing some things as we go through this book about what else we can do.

00:10:28.725 --> 00:10:30.551
So let's get right on into it.

00:10:30.571 --> 00:10:38.773
Okay, time and again, we ask one another why can't I win my friends to the Lord?

00:10:38.773 --> 00:10:44.750
Why is it that my family members just don't seem interested in God?

00:10:44.750 --> 00:10:51.167
The answer may shock you in its bluntness, but the truth often hurts.

00:10:51.167 --> 00:11:01.649
The reason people who know you aren't interested in your God may be because you don't have enough of the presence of God in your life.

00:11:01.649 --> 00:11:06.216
I told you, you see, right off the bat, it's going to make you mad.

00:11:06.216 --> 00:11:13.952
There is something about God's presence that makes everything else crumble in comparison.

00:11:13.952 --> 00:11:22.951
Without it, you will be just as pale and lifeless as everybody else around you, no matter what you do.

00:11:22.951 --> 00:11:29.464
Without his presence you will be just another somebody to those around you.

00:11:29.464 --> 00:11:37.101
I don't know about you, but I am tired of just being another somebody to the lost around me.

00:11:37.101 --> 00:11:39.465
I have made a decision.

00:11:39.465 --> 00:11:48.456
I made up my mind and set my heart to declare I am going to pursue the presence of God in my life.

00:11:48.456 --> 00:11:57.174
I am going to get so close to God that when I walk into secular and public places, people will meet him.

00:11:57.174 --> 00:12:06.158
They may not know that I'm there, but they will definitely know that he is there, but they will definitely know that he is there.

00:12:06.158 --> 00:12:19.787
I want to be so saturated with God's presence that when I take a seat on a plane, everyone near me will suddenly feel uncomfortable if they're not right with God, even though I haven't said a word.

00:12:19.787 --> 00:12:23.450
I'm not wanting to condemn or to convict them.

00:12:23.450 --> 00:12:27.250
I just want to carry the fragrance of my Father with me.

00:12:28.621 --> 00:12:39.951
We understand program evangelism, where we knock on doors or pass out tracts or some other program of the church designed to reach the lost.

00:12:39.951 --> 00:12:49.500
John Wimber helped us to understand power evangelism, where we mix anointing with the program.

00:12:49.500 --> 00:13:00.302
In this form of evangelism we might pray for someone to be healed on the street instead of just witnessing or giving out tracts.

00:13:00.302 --> 00:13:11.225
But there is a little understood, much underused form of evangelism that I call present evangelism.

00:13:11.225 --> 00:13:18.168
This is where people take note, saying they have been with Jesus, see Acts 4.13.

00:13:18.168 --> 00:13:31.130
This is when the residue of God on a person creates a divine radiation zone of the manifest presence of God, so much so that it affects those around you.

00:13:31.130 --> 00:13:35.552
Shadow healing would fall into this category.

00:13:35.552 --> 00:13:39.113
Only it wasn't Peter's shadow that healed anyone.

00:13:39.113 --> 00:13:48.635
It was the shadow of who Peter walked with that created a zone, a healing zone or a demon-free zone.

00:13:48.635 --> 00:13:55.298
The Hebrews believed that the anointing would extend as far as your shadow reached.

00:13:55.298 --> 00:14:00.479
I believe that the glory will extend as far as his shadow reaches.

00:14:00.479 --> 00:14:04.066
Cover the earth, lord.

00:14:04.086 --> 00:14:17.221
The gospel of mark tells us that immediately after jesus astounded his disciples by rebuking the sea and the wind during a great storm, they landed in the country of getterans.

00:14:17.221 --> 00:14:23.129
This is in mark 4, verses 35 and 5, verses chapter 1, 5 and 1.

00:14:23.129 --> 00:14:28.296
Something happened that day that I pray will happen in our day.

00:14:28.296 --> 00:14:44.614
When the sole of Jesus' foot touched the sandy shore of Gadara, one half mile distance, a man possessed of 5,000 demons suddenly was freed from their choking grasp for the first time.

00:14:44.614 --> 00:14:52.138
Demons suddenly was freed from their choking grass for the first time.

00:14:52.138 --> 00:14:52.217
Why?

00:14:52.217 --> 00:14:52.600
How do you know?

00:14:52.600 --> 00:14:59.182
Well, mark tells us that when the demonized man saw Jesus, he ran to worship him.

00:14:59.182 --> 00:15:02.506
Up until that precise moment, the demons had told him where to go and what to do.

00:15:02.506 --> 00:15:11.828
At every other instance, he had no control over his own actions, even when the demons commanded him to cut himself.

00:15:11.828 --> 00:15:14.315
So what changed all that?

00:15:14.315 --> 00:15:16.139
What happened?

00:15:16.139 --> 00:15:29.635
In a moment that rested that man's mind and physical functions out of the control of 5,000 controlling demon spirits.

00:15:29.635 --> 00:15:34.126
I'll tell you what happened Father stepped back in the house.

00:15:35.942 --> 00:15:37.307
That is what we need today.

00:15:37.307 --> 00:15:44.494
We need to hear the footfall of God as the sole of his foot touches earth just one time.

00:15:44.494 --> 00:15:49.224
When that happens, we won't have to worry about telling little demons to run.

00:15:49.224 --> 00:15:56.024
We won't even have to scream scriptures against their prince or practice pulling down demonic strongholds.

00:15:56.024 --> 00:16:02.807
The purpose of his manifest presence is to set the captive free, to fulfill Luke 4, 18.

00:16:02.807 --> 00:16:13.311
He wants to finish what he was able, unable to start in Nazareth, when he said this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears, lord.

00:16:13.311 --> 00:16:14.712
We want to see you.

00:16:14.712 --> 00:16:18.744
We are tired of just talking about you like Sunday school children.

00:16:18.744 --> 00:16:22.268
When are you going to show up, lord?

00:16:24.171 --> 00:16:42.732
I pray that Isaiah, chapter 6 visitation, will come to churches in the cities, because all it took is one footstep of Almighty God in a city to break the chains of decades and centuries of demonic dominion.

00:16:42.732 --> 00:16:48.893
I pray that we can say with the prophet Isaiah I've seen the Lord.

00:16:48.893 --> 00:16:59.813
I'm praying for a corporate breakthrough in the church, but first I pray that God gives each of us an individual breakthrough in our lives.

00:16:59.813 --> 00:17:04.471
Lord, we are not just coming to you to get a blessing.

00:17:04.471 --> 00:17:06.625
We seek the blesser.

00:17:06.625 --> 00:17:09.349
We need a breakthrough.

00:17:09.349 --> 00:17:16.469
I must warn you that sometimes you will be broken to get a breakthrough.

00:17:16.469 --> 00:17:18.721
It's just the way it happens.

00:17:19.674 --> 00:17:26.499
I encourage you to linger and soak in the presence of the Lord at every opportunity when you draw near to him.

00:17:26.499 --> 00:17:29.026
Don't hurry and don't rush.

00:17:29.026 --> 00:17:35.928
Realize that this is, or should be, at the top of our priority list.

00:17:35.928 --> 00:17:40.546
Let God do a deep work in your heart and life.

00:17:40.546 --> 00:17:51.250
This is the way God creates a deep board well in your life that will become an artesian well of power and glory in his presence.

00:17:51.250 --> 00:17:59.277
The purpose of his presence is to bring deliverance to the captives and victory to the children.

00:18:00.398 --> 00:18:04.227
Nothing stops a fight like daddy coming to town.

00:18:04.227 --> 00:18:27.096
For centuries we have been fighting spiritual battles with Satan and the bad kids from his neighborhood using bold words and sometimes sticks and stones, but it is time for us to cry out to our Father and watch our neighborhood battles take a totally new turn.

00:18:27.096 --> 00:19:03.701
I tell you with every ounce of faith in my being that if the Father of us all can step down and allow his manifest presence to touch earth just once, if even one tiny tear from his eye can fall in a city like Los Angeles, new York or Chicago, north Carolina or wherever city you're in, then the flood of glory it will spawn will bring revival throughout the land as demons flee and sinners fall to their knees.

00:19:03.701 --> 00:19:05.506
Jesus, help us.

00:19:05.506 --> 00:19:06.875
Come.

00:19:06.875 --> 00:19:10.385
Father, abba, father, daddy, we need you.

00:19:11.817 --> 00:19:26.737
The bottom line is this If you are really hungry to see Daddy come on the scene, then you have to understand that you must stop seeking his benefits and quit asking for him to do this or do that?

00:19:26.737 --> 00:19:43.126
We have managed to turn what we erroneously call church into a big bless me club when we sign up for the blessings and that blessing, I'm not so sure that we need to seek blessings anymore.

00:19:43.126 --> 00:19:50.319
That's what the israelites did in all of the centuries after they ran from the face of god.

00:19:50.319 --> 00:20:04.664
We need to seek brokenness and repentance and say, by our actions as well as our words, god, we want you, we don't care if you do anything or not.

00:20:04.664 --> 00:20:07.683
We are crawling up on the altar.

00:20:07.683 --> 00:20:12.926
Let your fire of cleansing fall so we can finally see your face.

00:20:14.635 --> 00:20:16.340
Why would we go through all this?

00:20:16.340 --> 00:20:19.778
There are at least two reasons I can think of.

00:20:19.778 --> 00:20:25.269
First of all, the experience of seeing God's glory is life-changing.

00:20:25.269 --> 00:20:35.145
It is the most habit-forming experience a human being can have, and the only side effect is death to the flesh.

00:20:35.145 --> 00:20:43.463
The second reason is this the true purpose of God's presence manifesting in our lives is evangelism.

00:20:43.463 --> 00:20:59.104
If we can carry a residue of God's glory back into our homes and businesses, if we can carry even a faint glow of his lingering presence into lukewarm churches, then we won't have to beg people to come to the Lord in repentance.

00:20:59.104 --> 00:21:06.420
They will run to the altar when his glory breaks their bondage and they can't come any other way.

00:21:06.420 --> 00:21:12.688
No man comes to the Father any other way except through repentance and salvation through Jesus.

00:21:12.688 --> 00:21:18.847
Every other so-called way to salvation bears the mark of a thief and a robber.

00:21:18.847 --> 00:21:37.647
The Lord knows that we have tried to pave the way for people to come to God through painless, cheap grace and costless revival, but all we wound up with was bargain basement salvation that hardly lasted a week.

00:21:37.647 --> 00:21:39.170
Why?

00:21:39.170 --> 00:21:51.769
Because all we gave people was an emotional encounter with man, when what they really needed was a death encounter with the glory and presence of God himself.

00:21:52.756 --> 00:22:06.144
From here on, our prayer should be this Father, we confess that we want to see change in our lives and in our church so we can bring about change in our city.

00:22:06.144 --> 00:22:16.288
Give us such a heart and passion after you that we may begin to see your glory flow out of us to convict and save the lost.

00:22:16.288 --> 00:22:33.268
Release your presence through us, as you did through Charles Finney when he walked through factories and saw workers drop to their knees under your glory and cried out for forgiveness, although not one word had been spoken or preached.

00:22:33.268 --> 00:22:41.967
May the faintest shadow of your presence in our lives heal the sick and restore the lame we meet in the streets.

00:22:41.967 --> 00:22:52.625
Let your presence so saturate us that unsaved guests can't step into our homes or be around us with unrepentant hearts.

00:22:52.625 --> 00:22:59.028
May your glory bring conviction in their lives that leads to salvation.

00:22:59.028 --> 00:23:07.727
Not because of our words we say, but because of your presence and power in our hearts.

00:23:07.727 --> 00:23:23.371
Honestly, I'm looking for the same kind of revival that they had in the new Hebrids when officials sent for Duncan Campbell who was conducting night revival services in that region.

00:23:24.036 --> 00:23:28.386
They told the evangelist would you please come to the police station?

00:23:28.386 --> 00:23:35.868
There are a whole score of people here and we don't know what's wrong with them, but we think you might.

00:23:35.868 --> 00:23:48.805
Now this really happened as the man walked with the officials through the village to the police station at 4 o'clock in the morning he said it was like a plague had come on the village.

00:23:48.805 --> 00:23:54.223
People were weeping and praying behind every haystack and every door.

00:23:54.223 --> 00:23:59.292
Men were kneeling on the street corners and ladies and children haystack and every door.

00:23:59.292 --> 00:24:05.815
Men were kneeling on the street corners and ladies and children in their nightgowns were huddled around each other in their open doorways, weeping and crying.

00:24:06.816 --> 00:24:15.656
When the evangelist finally reached the police station, he found scores of people weeping and crying out to the police what is wrong.

00:24:15.656 --> 00:24:20.861
They didn't even know enough about God to know it was him.

00:24:20.861 --> 00:24:25.328
They just knew something was wrong and that they were guilty.

00:24:25.328 --> 00:24:32.242
The only thing they knew to do was to go to the police station and confess that something was wrong.

00:24:32.242 --> 00:24:40.723
What was wrong was that there was sin in their hearts and the conviction of God had come upon them.

00:24:40.723 --> 00:24:50.345
Suddenly, when these people began to flood the police station with their confessions of wrongdoing, the police didn't have the answer.

00:24:50.345 --> 00:25:04.544
The evangelist stood on the steps of the police station early that morning and preached a simple gospel of repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ, and genuine revival came to that place.

00:25:04.544 --> 00:25:15.644
This is the kind of revival that I'm talking about, the kind that will quickly overwhelm the resources and manpower of every church.

00:25:16.885 --> 00:25:28.157
Can you imagine people just flocking to the church or someplace like a police station, just weeping and crying and don't know why?

00:25:28.157 --> 00:25:30.281
Can you imagine that happening?

00:25:30.281 --> 00:25:32.625
Why can't it happen here in America?

00:25:32.625 --> 00:25:36.123
I think the biggest reason is America is not hungry for God.

00:25:36.123 --> 00:25:37.980
They're hungry for what?

00:25:37.980 --> 00:25:41.884
The blessings of God, but they're not hungry for God.

00:25:41.884 --> 00:25:42.766
There is a difference.

00:25:42.766 --> 00:25:51.548
Seeking God for blessings is not the same as seeking God's face.

00:25:51.548 --> 00:25:54.582
We've got to seek his face.

00:25:54.582 --> 00:26:13.383
If we want to see things like this happen, if we walk into a place and we want people to feel the presence of God, know that we've been with Jesus, and conviction just falls on them, they get healed of some kind of disease or something just because we walk by Just a shadow of his presence.

00:26:13.383 --> 00:26:19.765
That are with us because they know we've been in touch with him and see people healed and saved and delivered.

00:26:19.765 --> 00:26:24.404
But just that, not even preaching a word, that we need to get hungry.

00:26:24.404 --> 00:26:25.807
We need to get hungry.

00:26:25.807 --> 00:26:28.222
We're going to take a break and we'll come back.

00:26:28.222 --> 00:26:29.757
Come right back.

00:26:30.659 --> 00:26:46.762
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh, oh, ooh, yeah, for my good.

00:26:48.076 --> 00:26:48.900
For my good.

00:26:48.900 --> 00:26:58.645
It's all working For my good, for my For my good, for my good, for my good, for my good.

00:26:58.645 --> 00:27:01.923
It's all working for my good.

00:27:01.923 --> 00:27:10.308

00:27:57.592 --> 00:27:59.395
Thanks and have a great day.

00:27:59.395 --> 00:28:01.376
Perfect thing, perfect thing.

00:28:01.396 --> 00:28:03.337
Let's see what.

00:28:03.337 --> 00:28:06.840
Let's see what they may bring for my, for my good, for my good.

00:28:06.840 --> 00:28:09.642
I see it working, it's all working.

00:28:09.642 --> 00:28:14.005
Yes, it is for my good, for my good.

00:28:26.914 --> 00:28:36.694
America is hungry, but the bread is stale, but the bread is stale.

00:28:36.694 --> 00:28:48.067
Frankly, we would be totally unable to contain or manage such a harvest of souls in our present state, because we don't have enough fresh bread of his presence on our shelves for the hungry masses.

00:28:48.067 --> 00:28:57.708
It may bother some people that I say that, but I have a problem with our part-time gone fishing church mentality.

00:28:57.708 --> 00:29:08.402
We touched on this earlier in chapter two no bread in the house of bread, but it bears repeating until the situation changes.

00:29:08.402 --> 00:29:22.067
Why is it that on every corner in America's cities we have little convenience stores that stay open 24 hours a day just to meet the public's demand for their goods?

00:29:22.067 --> 00:29:35.487
Meanwhile, most of American churches supposedly satisfy the nation's hunger for God, while operating only two hours a week on Sunday morning.

00:29:35.487 --> 00:29:41.326
Why is it the church staying open every night and day?

00:29:41.326 --> 00:29:45.766
Aren't we supposed to be offering the bread of life to the hungry?

00:29:45.766 --> 00:29:54.186
Something is terribly wrong, and I don't think it is America's hunger for God.

00:29:54.186 --> 00:30:09.479
They are hungry, all right, but they aren't smart enough to tell the difference between the stale bread of yesterday's religious experience and the fresh bread of God's genuine experience.

00:30:09.479 --> 00:30:21.762
Once again, we must conclude that the reason the hungry are knocking our doors in is because the house of bread is empty.

00:30:21.762 --> 00:30:30.385
It is interesting to note that not one of the 50 largest churches in the world is in the United States.

00:30:30.385 --> 00:30:32.226
How can that be?

00:30:32.226 --> 00:30:36.728
Haven't we sent missionaries around the world for more than 200 years?

00:30:36.728 --> 00:30:45.289
The hungry need fresh bread in abundance, not stale crumbs in the carpet from last century's wedding rehearsal dinner.

00:30:46.371 --> 00:30:51.632
I have a friend who pastors a church of about 7,000 believers.

00:30:51.632 --> 00:30:57.534
His church is arguably the best cell-based model church in America.

00:30:57.534 --> 00:31:09.002
But he told me that he had recently attended a conference overseas and what he discovered there brought tears to his eyes.

00:31:09.002 --> 00:31:13.838
He told me, tommy, there's something that just really griped me at the conference.

00:31:13.838 --> 00:31:16.046
He me gripped me at the conference.

00:31:16.046 --> 00:31:25.606
He explained that the conference sponsored a workshop for pastors who pastor churches larger than 100,000.

00:31:25.606 --> 00:31:29.105
And then he said I couldn't stand it.

00:31:29.105 --> 00:31:36.523
I just had to open the door and stick my head into that meeting to see if there was anybody there.

00:31:36.523 --> 00:31:44.465
The room had about 20 or 30 people in it and it just gripped me that I couldn't go in there.

00:31:44.465 --> 00:31:47.762
Then, with tears in his eyes, he told me.

00:31:47.762 --> 00:31:55.125
Then it dawned on me, tommy, nobody in that room was an American.

00:31:55.125 --> 00:32:01.478
Me, nobody in that room was an American.

00:32:01.498 --> 00:32:02.519
This man has been faithfully successful.

00:32:02.519 --> 00:32:03.060
By American standards.

00:32:03.060 --> 00:32:08.454
He has managed to make a sizable dent on his city of about 400,000, but he wants to do more.

00:32:08.454 --> 00:32:18.471
He isn't a head counter or number chaser who is interested only in competing with other pastors who brag about their Sunday morning attendance figures.

00:32:18.471 --> 00:32:21.865
He is a God chaser and a soul winner.

00:32:21.865 --> 00:32:25.203
His tears weren't tears of jealousy.

00:32:25.203 --> 00:32:27.461
They weren't tears of sorrow.

00:32:29.471 --> 00:32:34.903
If there has ever been a country ripe for revival, it is the United States.

00:32:34.903 --> 00:32:48.203
It is time for God's people to get desperately hungry after him, because the fires of revival must first ignite the church before its flames can spread to the streets.

00:32:48.203 --> 00:32:53.962
I am weary of trying to accomplish God's works with the hands of man.

00:32:53.962 --> 00:33:02.178
What we need for nationwide revival is one thing, and one thing only we need to have God show up.

00:33:02.178 --> 00:33:15.564
If you want your church, your local let me start over If you want your local high school classes to turn into prayer meetings, then you will need to see God show up.

00:33:16.310 --> 00:33:21.222
I'm not talking about a theoretical or historical occurrence.

00:33:21.222 --> 00:33:41.125
There have been times when God's glory has been flowing in his churches so much that his people had to be careful in area restaurants simply bowing their heads to pray over their meal.

00:33:41.125 --> 00:33:51.315
They look up to see waitresses and other customers all around just weeping uncontrollably and saying what is it with you people?

00:33:51.315 --> 00:33:59.836
My wife was standing in line to pay for some purchases at a store during God's visitation in Houston when a lady tapped her on the shoulder.

00:33:59.836 --> 00:34:06.474
She turned around to see who it was to find a total stranger weeping unashamedly.

00:34:06.474 --> 00:34:18.094
This lady told my wife I don't know where you've been and I don't know what you've got, but my husband is a lawyer and I'm in the middle of a divorce.

00:34:18.094 --> 00:34:26.157
She began to blurt out her other problems and finally said what I'm really saying is I need God.

00:34:26.157 --> 00:34:30.063
My wife looked around and said you mean right here.

00:34:30.063 --> 00:34:32.092
You mean right here.

00:34:32.092 --> 00:34:33.432
She said right here.

00:34:33.432 --> 00:34:39.157
My wife just had to ask again well, what about the people in line?

00:34:39.157 --> 00:34:47.585
Suddenly the lady turned to the woman standing in the line behind her and said ma'am, is it okay if I pray with this lady right here?

00:34:47.585 --> 00:34:54.949
But that lady was also crying and she said yes, and pray with me too.

00:34:54.949 --> 00:34:56.771
There is no shortcut.

00:34:56.771 --> 00:35:03.117
Supernatural things like that will happen to you too, but it only comes one way.

00:35:03.117 --> 00:35:17.010
It only comes when the priest and the ministers weep between the porch and the altar and cry out to Jesus Christ Spare the people.

00:35:17.010 --> 00:35:18.893
There is no shortcut to revival or the coming of his presence.

00:35:18.893 --> 00:35:29.454
God's glory only comes when repentance and brokenness drive you to your knees, because his presence requires purity.

00:35:29.454 --> 00:35:33.820
Only dead men see God's face.

00:35:33.820 --> 00:35:43.257
We cannot expect others to repeat at that death if you and I are not willing to continually walk in that level of repentance.

00:35:44.380 --> 00:35:51.260
The world is tired of hearing pompous churches preaching popular sermons from behind their elevated pulpits.

00:35:51.260 --> 00:35:58.135
What right do we have to tell everybody else to repent when there are such glaring problems in our own house?

00:35:58.135 --> 00:36:07.603
Hypocrisy has never been in style in God's church, but we've made it the main attraction in our version of church.

00:36:07.603 --> 00:36:11.253
What we need to do is come clean and confess.

00:36:11.253 --> 00:36:13.958
Yes, we have some problems.

00:36:13.958 --> 00:36:20.235
Yes, I have some problems too, but I am repenting of my sin right now.

00:36:20.235 --> 00:36:24.503
Is there anybody here who wants to join me while I repent?

00:36:24.503 --> 00:36:34.298
I think we will all be surprised at the number of people who will start crawling out from the crevices of society when they see the church repenting.

00:36:35.240 --> 00:36:42.043
Once again, it all goes back to our most serious problem we don't have the bread of his presence.

00:36:42.043 --> 00:36:49.244
Our churches are filled with career prodigals who love their father's things more than their father.

00:36:49.244 --> 00:37:02.561
We come to the family dinner table not to ask for more of the father, but to beg and persuade him to give us all the things in his house that he has promised are rightfully ours.

00:37:02.561 --> 00:37:08.697
We open the book and lick our lips and say I want all the gifts.

00:37:08.697 --> 00:37:12.744
I want the best portion, the full blessing.

00:37:12.744 --> 00:37:14.827
I want the best portion, the full blessing.

00:37:14.827 --> 00:37:16.731
I want all that belongs to me.

00:37:16.731 --> 00:37:33.956
Ironically, it was the father's blessings that actually financed the prodigal son's trip away from the father's face, and it was the son's new revelation of his poverty of heart that propelled him back into his father's arms.

00:37:33.956 --> 00:37:40.740
Sometimes we use the very blessings that God gives us To finance our journey away from the centrality of Christ.

00:37:40.740 --> 00:37:52.275
It's very important that we turn back To ground zero, to the ultimate eternal goal Of abiding with the father In intimate communion.

00:37:54.771 --> 00:38:00.717
Lord, put a hunger in our hearts for you and not just for your things.

00:38:00.717 --> 00:38:08.699
We appreciate your boundless blessings, father, but we are hungry for you, our blesser.

00:38:08.699 --> 00:38:12.639
Come show us the real purpose of your presence.

00:38:12.639 --> 00:38:19.630
Come, show us the real purpose of your presence, god.

00:38:19.630 --> 00:38:20.853
Let us see you and not the things you can do for us.

00:38:20.853 --> 00:38:29.592
Let us get hungry for you, not for the things you can do for us, but, god, let us get hungry for you.

00:38:29.592 --> 00:38:32.996
God, let's put away our pettiness, father.

00:38:32.996 --> 00:38:38.222
Our attitudes are trying to make things better without your presence.

00:38:38.222 --> 00:38:49.637
Father, let's put away our programs, put away the things that we think that you like, god, father, let us do things that you want done.

00:38:49.637 --> 00:39:03.639
It's not about the programs, it's not about the things, father, that's in the church, it's all about you and God.

00:39:03.639 --> 00:39:05.789
If it doesn't glorify you, then, father, we need to leave it be.

00:39:05.809 --> 00:39:14.202
Father, let us get to a place where, when we walk into a building or room, father, they don't see us but, god, they feel the presence of the Almighty King.

00:39:14.202 --> 00:39:26.873
God, we repent, father, we ask for forgiveness, father, of letting ourself be promoted over you.

00:39:26.873 --> 00:39:41.257
God, we repent of our sins, father, those things, father, that keep us from walking in your presence, that keep us, god, not in the will of the Father, and God that people are suffering because we have sin in our lives.

00:39:41.257 --> 00:39:54.793
We are the hands and feet, father, of you, and if people cannot experience you when we walk into a room or when they talk to us, father, we have failed.

00:39:54.793 --> 00:39:55.653
We have literally failed, father.

00:39:55.653 --> 00:40:00.599
If we've not, father, let them feel who you are or know who you are.

00:40:00.599 --> 00:40:11.059
God, help us to be a better Christian Father, a better servant, father, a better follower of your word.

00:40:11.059 --> 00:40:12.403
Father, we're thankful for your people.

00:40:12.403 --> 00:40:14.916
We're thankful, god, for what you're doing for them.

00:40:14.916 --> 00:40:16.922
And God, we just want you, father, to continue to move in their lives.

00:40:16.922 --> 00:40:17.972
Father, help them all.

00:40:17.972 --> 00:40:22.152
Father, repent and turn their eyes towards you, off a man.

00:40:22.152 --> 00:40:23.097
But, lord, look at you.

00:40:23.097 --> 00:40:30.815
Father, we love you and praise you and give you glory and honor in all things In Jesus' name.

00:40:30.815 --> 00:40:32.300
Amen.

00:40:32.829 --> 00:40:36.039
Guys, I hope you have enjoyed this time.

00:40:36.039 --> 00:40:42.614

00:40:42.614 --> 00:40:44.018
It was a great chapter.

00:40:44.018 --> 00:40:46.438
Like I told you in the beginning, it's probably going to make you mad.

00:40:46.438 --> 00:40:47.795
It's probably going to make you repent.

00:40:47.795 --> 00:40:49.255
I hope it makes you repent.

00:40:49.255 --> 00:40:55.682
If it doesn't make you repent, there's a problem, because we need to be hungry for god.

00:40:55.682 --> 00:40:58.596
We if just face it.

00:40:58.596 --> 00:41:02.344
If we're not hungry for god, what are we hungry for?

00:41:02.344 --> 00:41:04.769
Do you want to see revival?

00:41:04.769 --> 00:41:05.791
I do.

00:41:05.791 --> 00:41:07.474
I want to see people's lives change.

00:41:07.474 --> 00:41:11.498
I want to see jesus Jesus.

00:41:11.498 --> 00:41:22.777
Guys, next episode we'll talk about dismantle your glory, the burial of man's glory is the birth of God's glory, man.

00:41:22.777 --> 00:41:23.380
I can't wait.

00:41:23.380 --> 00:41:26.871
