The current mentality and methodology for treating drug addiction is to substitute a "less dangerous" drug for the one addicted to. It's a "drug for drug" mentality and it's stupid. We don't mince words in this podcast. If you think you can handle addiction to heroin by switching to methadone or suboxone, you are dreaming or delusional - take your pick.

Drugs are not the problem. Drugs are the solution to whatever problem the addict can't quite face up to, so to just substitute one drug for another doesn't get at the underlying problem for which the drugs are the solution.

Opioids are killing more people that guns these days. That's an amazing statistic and scary at the same time.

If you are an addict, if you think you might be but aren't sure, if you know someone that you think might be abusing drugs - this is the podcast for you. You need to be educated and learn the tough truths about addiction and treatment.
