Karen
Big facts Karen. It’s one of the few medications available for the disease, to help combat it. One can be on it their entire life. Especially if it keeps them clean. The goal is to eventually step down for lots of people but the main goal for everyone is to stay clean, no matter what. Anyways l, like your post and wanted to comment ….of course…. Wishing you the best!
Excellent Information
Dear Joanie, Have you contacted Ryan Hampton to discuss his participation in this case? His book Unsettled is very telling.

Inspiring Personal Stories
Thanks to Joanie and Jason for this podcast. The format is straightforward: personal stories of hope and redemption. I learn something from each episode (I am entering my 12th year of recovery). I’ve found the show features people from many walks of life, given rein to discuss what have been their greatest sources of strength and inspiration. The more stories I hear, the more ideas I get for transforming my own life. Whether a person is an advocate of Narconon, the 12 steps, or another form of recovery, I’m sure there is something I can learn from his/her story…if I listen. The Addiction Podcast gives me that opportunity.
Helping other humans
This podcast is an incredible tool to help with addiction. It's great that we can listen and learn from eachother. Keep them coming!
Do you remember the DARE program?
Addiction is a serious issue in this country. When I was growing up we had the DARE program that taught kids how to handle situations dealing with alcohol and drugs. In addition to the DARE program there we also had after school specials and Saturday morning tv shows That dealt with drugs and alcohol and what you should do if you or your friends had a problem. So even if parents didn’t quite know how to initiate the conversation with their children these things gave them an “in”.This podcast reminds me of the things that I grew up with. Hearing the stories first hand really puts things in perspective. This podcast isn’t like the ones you’re use to. The ones that are full of fluff, condescending and stuffy. Although drug addiction is a serious matter the show is (for lack of a better term) interesting and engaging. These are real people sharing their real life experiences. I plan on sharing this podcast with the group of young adults that I mentor.Thank you for your time and effort.
Amazing stories, amazing show.
There needs to be more shows like this. It's amazingly positive, and most importantly it is handling a problem in our society that absolutely needs to be handled. Well done and thanks Joanie and Jason!

Great
Some of the interviews with addicts are frightening, intense but really paint a picture of what some people go through, but still makes the point that help and hope are available.
five stars
An objective look at the growing opioid and drug problem particularly in the U.S. Interviews are from all aspects of the problem, from law enforcement to addicts that have gone through rehab, to parents, friends and relatives to support groups.
Really good information.
Good that someone is doing something about this growing problem.
