Enabling can end in death. Help should end in life.
If you're an addict and you need help, sometimes what you get from your friends and family is more enabling than actual help. And if you're the friends and family of an addict, you want to help but may not always know how to do that. As always, this podcast gives help and hope to addicts and those who care for them.
There is help available and if someone you know is an addict, you should never ever stop helping. But giving him or her money or allowing them to take advantage of you is not helping, it's enabling and it will result in the death of the addict.
